Chapter 485 Thinking About Alden's Wealth

"Chloe, I'm not going to Medical Street anymore."

Larry suddenly spoke up.

"What?"

Chloe was stunned and asked, "Why not?"

Larry said, "I have other things to do. Stop the car."

The car pulled over.

Larry opened the door and got out.

Chloe followed him out and said, "Then I won't go either. I'll come with you."

Chloe knew that Larry had called Paisley and had a new plan.

She felt a pang of sourness in her heart.

She was Larry's wife, yet Larry didn't discuss it with her. Instead, he called another woman. She felt really uncomfortable about it.

"You go to Medical Street first and take a look. You can't help with what I need to do."

"Alright."

Chloe nodded.

She knew she couldn't help Larry much right now. She had to keep working hard to make herself better.

She silently encouraged herself.

Then she got back in the car.

Larry hailed a taxi.

"To PaxGen Pharmaceuticals."

After saying this, he closed his eyes to rest and started thinking about the next steps.

Paisley had already pointed him in a direction and emphasized that he had to act quickly.

However, to win over or even absorb the families, companies, and factories threatened by VitaGen Medical into PaxGen Pharmaceuticals would require huge financial support.

Without money, everything was just talk.

With money, he could solve problems quickly.

Once these matters were resolved, perhaps only two major pharmaceutical groups would remain in Sunset City: VitaGen Medical and PaxGen Pharmaceuticals.

Right now, he was thinking about money.

Before he knew it, they arrived at PaxGen Pharmaceuticals.

Larry went straight to the top floor office.

However, Sue was still in a meeting.

With such major events happening in Sunset City today, all the pharmaceutical groups in the city were on edge.

Sue had also called a meeting to discuss countermeasures.

When she learned Larry had arrived, she immediately ended the meeting and headed to the office.

After Larry waited a few minutes, there was a knock at the door.

Then Sue, dressed in a sharp business suit, pushed the door open and asked, "Larry, are you here about VitaGen Medical acquiring all those pharmaceutical groups this morning?"

"Yes."

Larry's expression was serious. "VitaGen Medical has sped things up. We can't just sit and wait, or once VitaGen Medical recovers, PaxGen Pharmaceuticals won't stand a chance."

Sue sat down and asked, "Larry, do you have a plan?"

Larry asked, "How much money does PaxGen Pharmaceuticals have available in its accounts right now?"

Sue replied, "About 50 billion dollars."

"50 billion dollars?"

Larry looked worried.

That was too little.

The urgent priority was to get money quickly.

With money, they could execute the plan.

"This morning, the Lewis family's Everjoy Company was threatened by VitaGen Medical. They're forcing Everjoy Company to dissolve and offering only 1 million dollars in compensation. VitaGen Medical must have threatened other small businesses, small families, and small factories too. What we need to do is unite all these small businesses and factories."

"Although VitaGen Medical looks down on these small businesses, if we bring them together, that would be quite formidable."

"Sue..."

"Larry, go ahead."

Larry said, "Call a meeting immediately and have the group's people reach out to all the small families and businesses in Sunset City as quickly as possible. Acquire them and merge them into PaxGen Pharmaceuticals to strengthen it. The 50 billion should last a few days. I'll figure out a way to raise more money as soon as possible."

"Okay."

Sue nodded and asked, "By the way, have you found Abigail? Right now I'm swamped with work by myself. If she doesn't come back to take charge, I'm afraid I can't handle it."

Sue lacked confidence in herself.

She didn't have much talent to begin with, and now being forced to manage such a large group, she was already feeling overwhelmed.

Hearing this, Larry frowned.

After a while, he said, "I'll try my best to bring her back."

To find Abigail, he could only rely on Chloe.

According to his guess, Chloe probably knew where Abigail was but didn't tell him because she was worried that if Abigail came back, she would compete with her for him.

"Anything else? If not, I'll go hold the meeting."

"Go ahead."

Larry waved his hand slightly.

Then he remembered something and instructed, "Wait, don't hold the meeting yet. I'm sure there are spies from VitaGen Medical inside PaxGen Pharmaceuticals. Our actions can't be leaked. Once VitaGen Medical knows our next plan, we'll be in a very passive position. Give me a list of the company's senior employees. I'll have someone investigate them right away. We'll only start after confirming their loyalty to the group."

"Okay, I'll have HR print out the list of senior personnel immediately."

Sue left right away.

Larry didn't leave either but waited in the office.

At this moment, he was worried about money.

The only person he could think of to borrow from was Xerxes.

After hesitating for a moment, he took out his phone and called Xerxes.

"Larry, what's up?"

"Xerxes, I... I'd like to borrow some more money from you." Larry spoke somewhat embarrassedly.

The voice on the phone hesitated for a few seconds before responding, "How much this time?"

"The more the better."

"Larry, I really want to help you, but I've already given you all the cash I can use. I don't have much liquid cash left now. At most, I can only come up with a little over 10 billion dollars in cash. For more, I'd need to sell physical assets, but that won't raise much cash in a short time."

"Then forget it. I'll figure out another way."

Larry hung up.

He understood Xerxes's difficulty.

A huge enterprise needs working capital. If he took out even the last 10-plus billion dollars, he would really face the danger of bankruptcy.

"Money, where can I get money?"

Larry worried, pacing back and forth in the office.

He had thought about going back to Southwild to get money.

But after experiencing the public trial last time, he had become cautious and wouldn't easily do anything illegal.

"Wait."

Larry's eyes suddenly lit up.

He thought of someone.

Alden.

The founder of Shadow Syndicate, the king of assassins, Alden.

Before Cason died, he said that Alden had hidden away his life's fortune.

This fortune was enough to rival a country's wealth.

If he could get Alden's money, everything would be solved.

He immediately took out his phone and called Alden.

"Haha, Larry, you finally called me. I thought you'd forgotten about me." Alden's hearty laughter came through the phone.

Larry also laughed and asked, "Alden, where are you now? Are you in Sunset City?"

"Not yet."

"Come to Sunset City right away. I have something important to discuss with you."

"Okay, no problem."

Alden agreed without any hesitation.

His martial arts had also reached their peak, but he didn't have a method to cultivate Qi and couldn't develop it. Larry was his only hope. He relied entirely on Larry to become a Martial Practices Grand Master.

Soon, Sue walked into the office with the list.

Larry immediately sent the list to Matthew.

"Dr. Rogers, use your intelligence network to investigate the people on this list. See if they've had any recent contact with VitaGen Medical."
