Chapter 160 My Husband is a Miracle Doctor
Chloe knew what kind of people the Martins were. In the past, she had been belittled and looked down upon. Now hearing so many people mocking Larry, she felt unhappy.
Looking at so many members of the Martin family, she said, "Larry is not useless. He is a miracle doctor who healed my injuries. If he liked, he could be the best doctor in Sunset City."
Maria was so embarrassed at first that she didn't how to respond to the Martin family. After Chloe mentioned Larry's medical skills, she followed up by saying, "Yes, Larry is capable. You all know how serious Chloe's injuries were. Her whole body was burned and covered in scars, but Larry healed her in just ten days. If he isn't a miracle doctor, who is?"
Hearing this, everyone fell silent. They couldn't refute this.
The head of the family, Rowan Martin, also fixed his gaze on Larry. He was a soldier who had been injured during the war, leaving him with some aftereffects. Now that he was older, his health was deteriorating day by day.
He had once gone to Sunset City to see Dr. Rogers about his health. However, Dr. Rogers' appointment slots were fully booked years in advance. He could only get some traditional medicine from ordinary doctors in Sunset City to maintain his health.
Before Rowan could speak, a young man from the Martin family said, "Grandpa also has some old ailments. Since Larry is a miracle doctor, why not let him diagnose Grandpa and see if he is truly a miracle doctor or a fraud."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Chloe looked at Larry with a pleading expression and said, "Honey, please treat Grandpa."
Chloe didn't want to be looked down upon, nor did she want Larry to be looked down upon.
Larry was really reluctant. It was not in his nature to casually treat people. But since Chloe asked, he nodded and stood up, walking over to Mr. Martin.
Rowan was wearing a blue outfit and a hat.
"Grandpa," Larry walked over and called out.
Rowan nodded slightly, glancing at him, and said, "Go ahead and take a look. I won't blame you if you can't cure me."
Everyone's eyes were on Larry. They also wanted to see if Larry, who had healed Chloe, really knew medicine.
Larry looked at Rowan, took his hand, and began the diagnosis. About a minute later, Larry let go of Rowan's hand.
Chloe couldn't help but ask, "What do you think?"
She knew Larry had medical skills, but she didn't know how good he really was. She had been truly shocked to see him use silver needles to paralyze someone earlier today.
She looked expectantly, hoping Larry could bring her surprise and honor.
Larry looked at Rowan, hesitating slightly.
Rowan waved his hand and said, "I know my body. Just say it. As long as you're right, I won't fault you."
Larry nodded and said, "You're in poor health, Grandpa."
"Nonsense!" As soon as Larry spoke, a young man from the Martin family stood up and shouted, "Larry, Grandpa is in good health. How can you say his health is poor? Are you cursing him?"
"Yeah."
"Larry doesn't know anything about medicine."
Other members of the Martin family began to mock Larry, all very dissatisfied with him.
"Who is talking nonsense?" someone asked, followed by a tall, thin middle-aged man walking over.
"Dr. Smith, you're here." Everyone stood up. Even Rowan stood up to greet the approaching Ronin.
The middle-aged man, Ronin Smith, was a doctor hired by Cassian from Sunset City at a high salary to care for Rowan. Over the years, it was Ronin's prescriptions that had kept Rowan in good spirits.
Ronin walked over, looking at Cassian, and called out, "Cassian." Then he looked at Rowan. "Mr. Martin."
Finally, his gaze fell on Larry, with a hint of disdain on his face. "Mr. Martin has been following my regimen for years. Although he is over eighty, he is in good spirits and can live another twenty years without a problem."
"That's right. Dr. Smith is a member of the Sunset City Medical Association and was once the chief physician of a major clinic. If it weren't for connections, the Martin family wouldn't have been able to hire him."
"Dr. Smith, I've been feeling low on energy lately. Could you take a look at me when you have time and help me adjust?"
All the Martins started fawning over Ronin.
Larry glanced at Ronin. "Are you the one giving Grandpa the wrong prescriptions?"
"Wrong prescriptions?" Ronin's face darkened instantly, and he shouted, "Do you know anything about medicine?"
Cassian also had a stern expression. "Larry, apologize to Dr. Smith immediately. Dr. Smith has been practicing in medicine industry for twenty years. How can you compare?"
Larry snorted coldly and said, "Grandpa may seem in good spirits now, but it won't be long before his condition worsen. His body will give out. He is old, with his organs gradually aging, and his metabolism is slowing down. Yet, you prescribed a bunch of supplements. How can his body handle it?"
He then looked at Rowan. "Grandpa, cover your chest, take a deep breath, and hold it for a few seconds."
Rowan glanced at Larry, then nodded slightly, took a deep breath, and held it.
A few seconds later, Rowan suddenly cried out, clutching his chest, his face contorted in pain.
This scene shocked the Martin family.
Larry continued, "Grandpa's body has absorbed too much nutrition. While this can temporarily stabilize his life, over time, it becomes a burden on his organs."
The Martin family was scared, thinking, 'Could Larry really be a miracle doctor?'
Larry then squatted down and pressed on Rowan's knee.
Rowan cried out in pain again.
Larry continued, "Grandpa was shot in the knee when he was young. Although he recovered from the surgery, it left aftereffects. Every rainy day, it becomes unbearably painful, and even a slight touch causes severe pain.
"Moreover, Grandpa has taken too many supplements, which has led to high blood flow rate. But his blood vessels have aged and can't handle such vigorous blood flow rate. This has caused his veins to rupture. About three months ago, Grandpa had vascular repair surgery."
Larry's words completely stunned the Martin family. He even knew about the surgery three months ago.
Cassian, however, was not flustered. He looked at Chloe and smiled. "Chloe, did you tell Larry about Grandpa's condition? He actually doesn't know any medicine. He's just repeating information he knew beforehand to deceive us."
Hearing this, many people suddenly understood.
"So that's how it is."
"It did seem amazing, but he knew in advance."
"I knew it. How could he be that good?"
