Chapter 42 The Miracle Doctor of Sunset City

Today was a sensational day in Sunset City.

Free King had been appointed as the new commander of the five military districts.

The heads of the three major families in Sunset City were tied to chairs and beheaded.

Their heads were missing.

Meanwhile, the Hall family had completely withdrawn from Sunset City.

However, Larry had anticipated this and had already instructed people to prepare everything, blocking all exit routes and prohibiting anyone from the Four Great Families from leaving.

After Free King's inauguration, the authorities also stepped in to explain the murder of the three wealthy men.

They pulled a death row inmate from prison, put on the ghost mask used by Larry, and executed him in public to give the public an explanation.

For now, the matter had been temporarily suppressed.

The once-powerful Four Great Families of Sunset City were now in ruins, with the Hall family completely finished and unable to rise again.

Although the other three families only lost one patriarch each, it caused great fear within their ranks. Everyone was using their connections to find out who they had offended.

Some speculated that this was Free King's way of warning the Four Great Families as he took office.

Rumors were flying outside.

Meanwhile, Larry was sleeping at Chloe's house.

He slept until the afternoon.

Around 2:00 p.m., Chloe walked in and saw Larry lying on the bed.

The air conditioning in the room was set quite low, and she was worried Larry might catch a cold. She walked over and pulled the blanket over him.

At that moment, Larry suddenly turned over and grabbed Chloe's neck with lightning speed.

Her scream brought him back to his senses. He immediately let go, looking apologetic, "Chloe, I'm sorry!"

Chloe, clutching her neck that had turned red in an instant, looked angry and dissatisfied. "What are you doing?"

Larry looked embarrassed.

He had been guarding the border for years, where it was very dangerous, and he could lose his life at any moment. Even while sleeping, he remained vigilant and would wake up at the slightest disturbance.

"Occupational habit." Larry scratched his head, looking at Chloe, who was rubbing her neck with a pained expression, and couldn't help but ask, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Chloe wasn't really hurt.

It was just that Larry's alertness was too high. If she lived with him, she might get strangled to death one day!

"I'm sorry." Larry looked apologetic.

Chloe glanced at Larry and asked, "What did you do last night? You came back in the morning and slept until now."

"Worried that you were still angry, so I couldn't sleep!" Larry lied.

If Chloe found out that he was the one who killed the three family heads, it would be over.

Chloe felt as if she had eaten honey, feeling very happy inside, but she kept a straight face and looked dissatisfied. "I don't believe you. You didn't even call me all night. You must have been with another woman."

Larry swore, "I really wasn't."

Chloe pouted. "Okay, I believe you. Come with me to the job market this afternoon. I plan to find a job."

Now that her relationship with her family was bad, she couldn't go back to work at the Everjoy Company.

Although she had been insulted and looked down upon over the years, she was very motivated and never stopped learning, constantly taking various courses. She had ambitions and aspirations.

She didn't want to waste her days at home.

"Let's talk about it later!" Larry said.

He planned to buy the Trade Center.

In the future, many large corporations would move in, and Larry also had plans to start a company. Chloe had previously served as the acting CEO of the Everjoy Company for half a month and managed the company very well.

Larry planned to start a company and let her manage it.

"No way," Chloe said sternly, "If I don't work, we won't have money. How will you buy me beautiful dresses? Expensive bags? Makeup?"

"If you want, I can do that. I've saved quite a bit of money from my ten years in the military."

"I'm not used to spending a man's money."

"Okay."

Larry stopped talking.

If Chloe wanted to work, he would let her.

After all, he was still preparing, and it wasn't certain when everything would be finalized.

"Go wash your face first, I'll change my clothes," Chloe said.

Larry nodded and walked out.

The living room was empty; everyone must have gone out.

Larry, still groggy from sleep, went to the bathroom, washed his face casually, and returned to the living room to wait.

Soon, Chloe came out dressed.

Seeing her outfit, Larry beamed.

Chloe was wearing a white blouse, a pencil skirt, and high heels, looking like a successful businesswoman, exuding confidence.

Moreover, she had a great figure, with her golden hair cascading down her back, giving off a mature and sexy vibe.

"Beautiful." Larry admired Chloe as if he were admiring a perfect piece of art, unable to help but praise her.

Chloe twirled around and smiled. "How do I look?"

Larry gave a thumbs up. "Gorgeous. I'm so lucky to have found such a beautiful wife."

Chloe pouted. "If you hadn't cured me, I wouldn't have married you. Mom was right; if you opened a beauty salon, business would be booming, and I wouldn't have to work. I could just be a rich housewife."

Larry stroked his chin.

A rich housewife?

He had never calculated his assets before, but after doing so yesterday, he found he had over 30 billion dollars, making him the richest man in Sunset City.

However, he had sent Frank back to Southwild to get the money to buy the Trade Center.

He said, "Don't worry, Chloe. I'll make sure you become a rich housewife."

"Stop bragging. You know your own capabilities. Let's go; it's almost 3:00 p.m.. If we delay any longer, we'll miss the job openings at the major companies."

Then, Larry got up.

The two of them left together.

Chloe didn't have a car.

Larry did, but it was a Black Dragon special vehicle, and he didn't want to drive it.

So, they rode an electric scooter to the nearby job market.

Chloe sat in the back, hugging Larry's waist, her head resting on his back, a happy smile on her face.

Although their current life was modest, without a Mercedes or a BMW, it was happier than sitting in a luxury car. They could be close to nature and feel the natural breeze.

Chloe said, "Larry, tell me about your time in the military."

Riding the electric scooter, Larry smiled and said, "That's a long story. Ten years in the military would take ten days and nights to tell. I'll tell you slowly in the future."

Chloe said, "I'm just curious, how did a soldier like you learn medicine?"

"This is Sunset City, also known as Pharma City, where famous doctors from all over the world gather. I grew up in an orphanage, and the director was an experienced doctor, a hidden expert. I learned some medical knowledge from a young age. My medical skills are just average. Frank's skills are truly amazing, but he's low-key. Otherwise, he would have been a renowned doctor by now."

"Really? How does he compare to Lucy Rogers?"

"Lucy? Who's that?" Larry was slightly puzzled.

"Are you really a medical student? You don't even know Lucy. Do you know Matthew Rogers, the famous doctor in Sunset City and president of the hospital association? Lucy is his granddaughter, and her medical skills are even more outstanding."

Larry really didn't know. As the Black Dragon of Southwild, he didn't pay attention to these minor figures.
