Chapter 250 Kicking Out Again
Outside the Pearl Harbor Hotel, Victor looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders, and Jack's family wasn't any better off.
Jack walked up to Larry, a pleading look on his face. "Larry, you got the Lewis Family a hotel when things were rough. Can you get Tiberius out? He pissed off the Foster Family, and they busted his leg. He's gonna get wrecked in jail."
Oscar sneered, "Jack, you really trust this guy?" He wasn't impressed with Larry, who he saw as a total loser. All Larry did was burn through the Lewis Family's cash.
Julia chimed in, "If he had any skills, he wouldn't have married into the Lewis Family."
Harry's wife, Lily, added, "Yeah, counting on Larry? You guys must be nuts."
Marigold Johnson, Jack's wife, tugged at his sleeve. "Honey, why are you begging this loser?"
Marigold couldn't stand Larry because Chloe had caused so much trouble for the Lewis Family.
Jack sighed, "I got no other options." The family was in deep trouble, and their old friends had bailed on them. They didn't really expect Larry to save Tiberius.
Larry got the vibe, looking down on Harry's family. Tiberius was trying to help them, and they just threw him under the bus.
He said confidently, "Grandpa, Jack, chill. I'll get you checked in, then I'll get Tiberius out."
"Anyone can talk big," someone muttered.
Victor, leaning on his cane, shouted, "Can you all shut up for a second?"
Everyone finally went quiet, waiting outside.
The Pearl Harbor Hotel's management showed up fast. First was the lobby manager, Ronan Johnson, who lived nearby.
Ronan, a guy in his thirties, walked in looking sharp in a suit and tie. The hostess at the door greeted him with a big smile, "Hey, Ronan."
Ronan nodded back, "Thanks."
"Ronan, the Lewis Family is still outside. They haven't left," the hostess filled him in.
"Really?" Ronan stroked his chin, then pointed to some security guards. "The boss has a meeting tonight. You guys come with me and get the Lewis Family out of here. We don't need the Martinez or Carter families causing trouble."
"Got it, boss."
Ronan led the security guards out.
The Lewis Family was waiting a few hundred feet from the hotel.
Just then, a guy in a black suit and a bunch of security guards showed up.
Ronan walked up and barked, "What are you doing here? Get lost!"
The Lewis Family was fed up with being pushed around all day.
Oscar, used to living the high life, was feeling the heat. Now, standing on the street and getting told to leave again, he snapped. "Who the hell are you? Did you build this road?"
Ronan stood his ground. "Listen up, I'm the lobby manager of the Pearl Harbor Hotel, Ronan. I have the right to kick you out. If you don't leave, don't blame me for what happens next."
Oscar was fuming. He was in the middle of the road, and these hotel guys were still trying to push him around.
"What are you gonna do?" Oscar scoffed, not believing the hotel staff would actually hit him.
Ronan didn't hesitate. "Beat him up," he ordered.
The security guards, armed with electric batons, rushed in and started wailing on Oscar. The rest of the Lewis Family tried to step in but got the same treatment.
Larry just sat on the steps nearby, puffing on a cigarette, totally ignoring the chaos. Oscar kinda had it coming.
Ronan felt pretty smug. Making life hard for the Lewis Family would definitely score points with the Carter and Martinez families, and that meant brownie points with his boss. Maybe even a promotion.
Thinking about his bright future, he barked, "Drive them away."
After getting their butts kicked, the Lewis Family left on their own.
A few thousand feet away from the hotel, Oscar sat on the ground, holding his swollen face, seething with hatred. "Grandpa, you still trust Larry now?"
Victor turned to Larry, "Larry, what's the deal?"
Larry finally stood up, flicking his cigarette away. "Grandpa, I'll go check it out."
Larry headed to the Pearl Harbor Hotel. By now, the hotel's management was all gathering at the entrance.
General Manager Kyle, Lobby Manager Ronan, and a few other managers were standing around.
Ronan, grinning, said, "Kyle, you asked me to set up twenty rooms, but then I found out the Lewis Family pissed off two big families. Now, anyone who helps them is in deep trouble."
Kyle frowned. He hadn't known the full story. The company headquarters had called him to arrange the rooms, and now they were calling again about a meeting. He had a bad feeling, but it quickly faded.
He figured the Lewis Family must've pulled some strings at the Epoch Group headquarters. Now the higher-ups were aware, and someone was gonna get blamed.
Kyle looked at Ronan. "Ronan, when the company people come and start asking questions, you take the fall for arranging the rooms. I'll cover all your living expenses."
Ronan was confused. "Kyle, what do you mean?"
Kyle whispered, "The Lewis Family got help from the Epoch Group headquarters, which called me to set up the rooms. Now the higher-ups are onto it. With strict rules against using connections for personal gain, they're starting an investigation. Who knows how many heads will roll."
Ronan panicked. "If I take the blame, I'm screwed!"
Kyle patted his shoulder. "It's okay. Even if you get fired, as long as I'm still the manager, I'll help you find another job. If I get fired, you're out too. Then you're really done."
Ronan nodded, realizing he had no choice. "Alright, I'll take the blame."
He then asked, "By the way, when did our hotel become part of the Epoch Group?"
Kyle explained, "It was just acquired a few days ago. It hasn't been announced yet, probably because the process isn't complete."
