Chapter 313 Sawyer's Restaurant Opening
Larry left the Epoch Group.
He randomly found a small restaurant, ordered a few dishes, and got a bottle of red wine.
He drank and ate alone.
Just then, his phone beeped with a text message.
He picked up his phone from the table and looked at it.
"This is Sawyer and my wife Vanessa Monroe. We've opened a restaurant in the old town, and it will be officially open on September 2nd. We invite all our friends to come and support us. The address is in the old town. This message is sent to multiple recipients. Sorry for any inconvenience."
Larry saw the message and was taken aback.
"Sawyer opened a restaurant?"
Sawyer was his high school classmate and a good friend.
He remembered that Sawyer's family was very poor. His dad died in a car accident when he was very young, and his mom raised him.
"Sawyer opened a restaurant. I must go and support him."
Larry murmured softly.
He checked his phone calendar.
Today was September 1st, and tomorrow was the 2nd.
He dialed Sawyer's number.
"Larry." A slightly stuttering but excited voice came through the phone.
Larry smiled and said, "Your restaurant is opening tomorrow, right?"
"Yes."
"I'll reserve a table."
"Okay, no problem."
After making the call, Larry hung up.
He continued eating.
After finishing his meal, he went to the hospital to see Frank.
He didn't contact Chloe.
Because Chloe was about to divorce him, it was better not to provoke her now and wait a few days.
Larry spent the entire afternoon at the military hospital.
The next day.
Larry was waiting for a car by the roadside.
Xerxes hurriedly ran over. "Larry, finally found you."
Larry frowned when he saw Xerxes, "Why are you here again?"
"Larry, Esmeralda insists you come. I have no choice. Can you do me a favor? Just go and take a look. If you don't go, Esmeralda will make a fuss again."
"What's it got to do with me?"
Larry ignored him, hailed a taxi, and got in.
"Larry!" Xerxes shouted.
But Larry had already driven away.
He quickly got into a car by the roadside and instructed, "Follow that car."
Larry arrived in the old town.
He found Sawyer's restaurant.
Sawyer's restaurant was quite large, with three floors and over 20,000 square feet in total.
It was still early in the morning, so the restaurant was relatively quiet.
Sawyer, wearing a suit, was at the door directing people delivering flower baskets.
"Place the flower baskets like this, and put that potted plant over there."
Larry walked over and appeared in Sawyer's line of sight.
"Larry." Sawyer immediately walked over, his face full of joy, and said, "You're here so early."
Last time at Maple Grove Mansion, Larry had helped Sawyer out several times, and Sawyer was very grateful to him.
Larry smiled and said, "I had nothing to do, so I thought I'd come early and see if I could help with anything."
"Sawyer, what are you doing? So many things to do, and you're just slacking off?"
An angry voice came.
A woman in a flashy dress and heavy makeup walked out. Seeing Sawyer with Larry, she frowned and scolded, "Sawyer, you really have some nerve, associating with such disreputable people."
"Larry, I'll go get busy. You go inside and rest."
Sawyer apologized and went back to work.
Larry frowned.
Vanessa gave Larry a disdainful look, then walked over to a middle-aged man with a bright smile, intimately holding his arm. "Mr. Johnson, you're here so early?"
The middle-aged man pinched Callista's butt and laughed, "Your restaurant is opening. Of course, I had to come early."
"Thank you, Mr. Johnson. I hope you'll frequent our place in the future."
"Sure, sure."
Larry frowned at this scene.
He knew Vanessa; she was his classmate.
She was very mischievous in school, always hanging out with disreputable men.
He didn't know why Sawyer married someone like Vanessa, but from Vanessa's attitude towards Sawyer, it seemed Sawyer had no status at home.
"Larry."
Xerxes came over again.
Larry turned to Xerxes, very helpless, "Xerxes, don't you have anything better to do? Why are you following me? Isn't today Esmeralda's birthday? Why aren't you there?"
"Without you, there's no point in having a birthday party." Xerxes said gloomily, "Esmeralda said if you don't go, the party won't happen. Larry, can you just come and say a few words of blessing and then leave?"
"Xerxes, I really don't have time. My friend's restaurant is opening."
"It won't take long, just two hours round trip. It won't delay you here."
"I'm not going."
Larry ignored Xerxes.
Xerxes was anxious.
He had promised Esmeralda that he would bring Larry no matter what, but now Larry refused to go.
What should he do?
Soon, Sawyer came out with a few stools.
"Larry, have a seat and rest for a while."
"Okay." Larry nodded and sat down.
Sawyer also invited Xerxes, "You sit and rest, too."
Xerxes sat down gloomily.
Larry sat in the restaurant's outdoor seating area, smoking.
Soon, many classmates arrived.
"Vanessa, wishing you prosperous business."
"Vanessa, you're really doing well, opening such a big restaurant. This must have cost at least two million dollars. I came in a hurry and didn't prepare any gifts, just brought some small presents."
The arriving classmates handed over their prepared gifts.
Some gave cash, others valuable items.
Sawyer warmly greeted these classmates.
But they ignored him.
"Vanessa, I don't understand you. You're so capable, why did you marry a loser like Sawyer? He has nothing."
"Exactly, he was a loser in school, and ten years later, he's still useless."
Some girls who didn't get along with Vanessa mocked Sawyer, belittling him.
Vanessa glanced at Sawyer and said coldly,
"Don't mention him. Our restaurant is opening, and none of his friends or relatives came to support us. If he weren't so honest, I wouldn't have married him."
Vanessa glanced at Larry sitting at the door.
"Not everyone. At least Larry came, the son-in-law of the Lewis Family. The Lewis Family is a big family, and now Chloe is the miracle doctor of Sunset City, highly favored by Black Dragon. There's even talk that Chloe is going to divorce her useless husband Larry and be with Black Dragon," She spoke loudly.
Larry heard it. He frowned.
Now even outsiders knew that Chloe was going to divorce him and be with Black Dragon.
