Chapter 19 Have to Kneel
Seeing Chloe happy, Larry also felt joyful.
"Larry, I can go home!"
Chloe kept cheering, like a little girl who had been punished and finally forgiven by her family.
Larry didn't say much, just held her tightly.
When Harry learned of Chloe's location, he drove to Dragon Street.
Accompanying him were several members of the Lewis Family.
There was Harry's son, Oscar, Oscar's wife, Yara Smith, and Harry's daughter, Julia.
Harry had always served as the executive director of the Lewis Family's Everjoy Company, and the car he drove was quite valuable, a BMW worth a hundred thousand dollars.
In the car, Oscar complained, "What's Grandpa thinking? We can't let Chloe come back. Dad, if Chloe comes back, you'll have to give up your position as executive director. We can't let her come back."
Yara chimed in, "Yeah, we can't let Chloe become the executive director. If she does, we won't be able to benefit from the company. I don't even know how Chloe got to know Legion Lord's chairman, Leo."
Julia interjected, "There's a rumor going around that Chloe is Leo's mistress."
Harry interrupted everyone, saying, "Alright, stop talking. Let's get Chloe back first and stabilize the Legion Group. This is a ten-million-dollar order, and we can net two million dollars from it!"
Soon, the car arrived at the entrance of Mortal Clinic.
They got out of the car.
Chloe was overjoyed to learn that Harry had come to pick her up personally and had been waiting outside early.
Seeing Harry's car, she excitedly grabbed Larry's hand. "It's really Harry. Larry, I can go home."
"Yes, you can go home." Larry smiled; seeing Chloe happy made him happy, too.
Harry got out of the car with a bright smile and said, "Chloe, Victor asked me to bring you back."
Seeing Chloe, the other members of the Lewis Family had stern faces.
It was Chloe who almost ruined the Lewis Family. Fortunately, God was watching over them, or the Lewis Family would have been finished.
Oscar arrogantly said, "Chloe, my dad spoke a lot on your behalf in front of Grandpa to get you back. You should kneel and thank my dad."
"Thank you, Harry, for speaking on my behalf," Chloe said as she was about to kneel.
However, Larry pulled her up just as she bent down.
"Larry, what are you doing?" Chloe said with displeasure.
Seeing this, Oscar was also angry and said coldly, "Larry, in front of the future head of the Lewis Family, why aren't you kneeling? Are you defying family rules?"
"Kneel?" Larry said calmly, "He doesn't deserve it. He didn't speak on Chloe's behalf. If the Legion Group hadn't canceled their cooperation with the Lewis Family, you wouldn't have come looking for Chloe. Go back and tell Victor that Chloe is not returning to the Lewis Family."
Chloe was about to scold Larry, but after hearing his words, she couldn't help but ask, "Larry, what's going on? What do you mean the Legion Lord canceled their cooperation with the Lewis Family?"
Larry explained, "I just saw the news. Leo held a press conference and announced the cancellation of the cooperation with the Lewis Family. Leo said that the Legion Lord would only cooperate with the Lewis Family if you were part of it. Since the Lewis Family expelled you, the Legion Lord naturally won't cooperate with them. That's why the Lewis Family is in a panic and came to get you back."
As she learned the truth, Chloe's grievances surged.
She had thought her grandfather truly loved her, but it turned out to be because of this.
She was so aggrieved that she almost cried.
Larry then pulled her toward the clinic.
Seeing this, Harry panicked and hurriedly said, "Chloe, you should go back. Victor is old and in poor health. Do you want him to come personally to get you before you'll go back?"
Chloe was moved, thinking that her grandfather was almost eighty. She stopped and looked at Larry.
Larry knew that Chloe cared most about her family's opinion.
For the past ten years, she had been looked down upon and dreamed of gaining her family's approval.
"Chloe, do you want to go back?" he asked.
Chloe nodded.
Larry looked at Harry and his family at the door and said calmly, "Chloe can go back, but you all have to kneel and beg her to return."
"Larry." Oscar instantly became furious, his face turning red with anger. " Chloe hasn't said anything, and you have no right to demand this from us."
Larry said calmly, "If you don't kneel, then let Victor come personally to invite Chloe back. Otherwise, Chloe won't go back."
Chloe gently tugged on Larry's clothes, signaling him to say less because they were all family, and she didn't want to make things worse.
"Chloe, you're too soft-hearted. They are the ones begging you to go back, not the other way around. You can make any demands now, and they will agree," Larry said.
"Really?" Chloe asked.
"Of course. Where's your sharpness before? The Legion Lord canceled their cooperation with Everjoy Company. This is a loss for the Lewis Family. They can't afford to lose you. Think about it, what do you want?"
Chloe realized.
These days, she had been in a daze. Now that Larry had said this, she finally understood.
For years, her father had been looked down upon by the Lewis Family and had no status at home.
Although he was a manager in the group, he didn't have any shares.
Because of this, her parents had countless arguments.
She thought for a moment and said, "I can go back, but you have to tell Grandpa to give my dad ten percent of Everjoy Company's shares. If he agrees, I'll go back. If not, I won't. And he has to kneel."
Chloe pointed at Oscar.
Over the years, she had been ostracized by Oscar, who often caused her trouble. Even at family banquets, he frequently criticized her father.
"What?" Oscar's eyes widened.
Harry slapped Oscar on the head and angrily said, "Kneel down and apologize to Chloe."
"Dad, you must be kidding. Do you really want me to kneel to her?" Oscar shouted.
Harry slapped him again and kept giving him signals, whispering, "Kneel down. Do you want the family to give Scott ten percent of the shares?"
Hearing this, Oscar understood and immediately knelt on the ground with a sorrowful face. "Chloe, I was wrong. I promise I won't say anything about you again. Please, come home. Grandpa's eightieth birthday is coming up. Let's have a good family reunion, okay?"
Before Chloe could speak, Larry said, "No, Chloe already said that you should agree to give the shares, and she'll go back. If not, she won't. Frank, close the door. We're not open for business today."
With that, he pulled Chloe into the clinic.
Frank came over and closed the door.
Inside the clinic, Chloe looked worried, "Larry, will Grandpa really give my dad the shares?"
Larry confidently said, "As long as you don't go back, Your grandpa will give them. This time, you can't be soft-hearted."
Hearing this, Chloe smiled with relief and said, "In this way, my mom won't look down on my dad anymore. My dad's status in the family will rise. Larry, thank you."
Larry held her face and said, "No need to thank me. This has nothing to do with me. If you want to thank someone, thank Leo."
Chloe was puzzled again.
She thought, 'I don't know Legion Lord's chairman, Leo. Why is Leo so good to me?'
