Chapter 165 Gift

After Percival spoke, no one made a bid. He had a satisfied look on his face.

Moments later, a voice rang out, and he saw that Larry was bidding. His expression instantly turned grim.

Seeing that Larry was a young stranger, he coldly said, "Didn't you hear me? I said I want this herb. What do you mean by this? Are you trying to go against me?"

Larry didn't care about Percival at all. He had to get this herb to give to Chloe.

On the auction stage, Lucy saw Percival and her expression also turned slightly grim. She knew him; he was a really tough person to deal with and highly skilled in medicine, comparable to Matthew.

Now that Percival wanted this precious herb, it couldn't be sold for a good price. But then she saw Larry bidding and Chloe next to Larry.

She was slightly stunned. She didn't know Chloe's background, but Matthew had gone out of his way to protect her at Kelly's last birthday party.

Facing Percival's threat, Larry smiled faintly and said, "You want this precious herb, and so do I. Since it's an auction, let's bid. The highest bidder wins."

Chloe gently tugged at Larry and whispered, "Honey, forget it. We don't have the money."

Larry waved his hand slightly, signaling Chloe not to worry.

Percival's expression turned even grimmer, exuding a cold aura. He expected to get this precious herb at the lowest price.

"Do you think you have more money than me?" He refused to back down and immediately shouted, "I bid 110 million dollars."

After saying that, he glanced at Larry.

Larry raised his paddle again. "150 million dollars."

The sound of gasps filled the venue. 'From 110 million dollars, it jumped directly to 150 million? Who is he? Why haven't we seen him before? Could he be from a prominent family? Judging by his attire, he doesn't look like a wealthy person.' Many people were secretly surprised.

Percival was very angry. This precious herb was very useful to him.

The annual medical competition in Sunset City was coming up soon. To win the title of Miracle Doctor and gain worldwide fame, he had prepared for many years and developed a formula that required this precious herb.

"200 million dollars," Percival almost shouted. His shout echoed through the auction hall.

Everyone knew Percival was angry. They all knew he was very vengeful, and Larry had completely offended Percival.

"300 million dollars," Larry said nonchalantly.

"Honey." Chloe's face turned pale, thinking, '300 million dollars? He actually dared to name such an amount? Where are we going to get that kind of money?'

Next to her, Fiora also looked at Larry with a puzzled expression. 'He casually called out a price of 300 million dollars. Does he not value money at all?'

Many of the elites in the venue were stunned. Although this was a precious herb, its maximum price was 150 million dollars. Three hundred million dollars was an overpayment.

Percival was very angry. He was very famous, and no one dared to go against him. But Larry was now actually opposing him at the auction.

Although Percival was famous at medicine and charged at least hundreds of thousands of dollars per consultation, his years of accumulation amounted to only a billion dollars.

Percival said, "350 million."

"500 million," Larry said nonchalantly.

Percival was so angry that he took a few steps back, pointed at Larry, and shouted, "Who are you, and why are you going against me?"

Larry said calmly, "That's not important. I said the highest bidder wins. If you want it, keep bidding."

Chloe trembled with fear when she heard Larry call out a price of 500 million dollars, constantly pulling on him, trying to make him stop. But he remained unmoved.

Percival laughed angrily, pointed his finger at Larry, and said, "If you want it, take it. Use this herb to extend your life."

The threat was palpable. Everyone could tell that Percival was really angry. Larry was done for.

Percival stopped bidding.

On the auction stage, Lucy observed the scene in silence. Secretly, she told Matthew in Sunset City about what had happened.

When Matthew learned of this, he immediately accessed the venue's surveillance and saw the scene. He immediately instructed, "Lucy, since Chloe wants this herb, give it to her for free."

Hearing this, Lucy was stunned. She secretly communicated with Matthew, asking,"Grandpa, really? The auction price has already reached 500 million dollars. That's 500 million. Are we just going to give it away?"

"Do as I say."

"Okay." Lucy didn't dare to disobey.

Seeing no one else bidding, she looked at Larry below and smiled. "Since no one else is bidding, this precious herb goes to Mr. Bennett. However, Pillar Pharmacy has decided not to charge Mr. Bennett and will give this precious herb to him for free."

Everyone's eyes were on Larry, thinking, 'Who is he that Pillar Pharmacy would give away a priceless herb?'

Larry smiled faintly. He had anticipated this. As long as he bid, he would surely attract Matthew's attention.

Matthew had another identity, the Grim Reaper, who controlled the underground intelligence network. He knew Larry's true identity.

Chloe was also stunned. "Give it away?"

Larry looked at the surprised Chloe beside him, smiling, and said, "Honey, Dr. Rogers really respects you. That's such a priceless herb, and he just gives it to you."

"He respects me?" Chloe was slightly stunned.

Larry chuckled. "Actually, I counted on this. That's why I bid without money. It was just to get his attention, and it worked."

Chloe felt dazed, questioning, 'Is Dr. Rogers giving me the herb because of the mysterious Mr. Bennett?'

"Mr. Bennett, Ms. Lewis, please come backstage to collect the herb after the auction," Lucy said, then continued with the next item.

Fiora next to them looked puzzled. 'The bid had reached 500 million dollars, and now Pillar Pharmacy is giving the priceless herb to Larry. Could he be some big shot?'

"Honey, let's go get the herb and then head back," Larry pulled Chloe up to leave.

Lucy saw this and called on another auctioneer, then went to the backstage.

Behind the auction hall, Lucy greeted them respectfully, "Mr. Bennett, Ms. Lewis."

"Lucy, this gift is too valuable. I can't accept it," Chloe came to refuse. She didn't want to owe the mysterious Mr. Bennett any more favors.

"Why won't you accept it?" Larry immediately said.

"Larry," Chloe scolded, "Why take someone else's things for free?"

Larry awkwardly scratched his head and said, "Honey, if it's a gift, why not take it?"

Lucy quickly said, "Ms. Lewis, this is Dr. Rogers's idea. It's just an herb. Please accept it."

Chole said, "But..."

"No buts." Larry picked up the herb and smiled. "Lucy, thank Dr. Rogers for me."

With that, he pulled Chloe away.
