Chapter 13 The Hall Family's Scheme
Outside the Lewis family villa, dozens of jeeps drove up, and fully armed soldiers stormed into the Lewis family residence.
The Lewis family members were instantly panicked. Victor, who had already gone to bed, got up in his pajamas. Seeing dozens of soldiers, his face turned pale with fright, and he hurriedly asked, "What's going on?"
"Take them away."
At the command, Victor was forcibly taken away by two soldiers.
The other members of the Lewis family who had already gone to bed were also forcibly dragged up.
Meanwhile, at Chloe's house.
Scott and Maria were already asleep.
The door was kicked open, and a group of people rushed in, forcibly taking them away.
In a secret room on the top floor of the Sunset City Hotel, Chloe was tied up, and soon the Lewis family members were brought in. Her grandfather Victor, her father Scott, her uncle Harry, her second uncle Jack, and dozens of other Lewis family members were all brought to this place.
All the Lewis family members were tied up.
They were all confused, not knowing why they had offended the Hall family, and why they were brought to the Hall family villa, all with expressions of panic and fear.
In the baseroom, Frederick sat in a chair, a cigarette in his mouth.
Behind him stood several fully armed soldiers. He looked indifferent and said calmly, "Chloe, do you know why I kidnapped you?"
Chloe didn't understand.
It wasn't Chloe who damaged the painting, but how could the video footage show her doing it?
Victor, who was tied up, pleaded, "Mr. Hall, the Lewis family has never offended the Hall family. Oscar from our Lewis family even has a good relationship with Sean. Why did you capture us? Please, let us go. If we have offended you in any way, I will prepare a gift to apologize and personally visit the Hall family to make amends."
Frederick waved his hand, interrupting Victor, saying, "Chloe damaged a painting worth two hundred million dollars at the auction banquet. Victor, I'll let you go back to sell off the Lewis family assets, gather two hundred million dollars, and bring the money to ransom your family members. If you don't have the money, you all will die."
"What?"
"Two hundred million dollars?"
"Chloe, what happened?"
"How did you damage a painting worth two hundred million dollars?"
The tied-up Lewis family members were all shocked by the amount, and they all blamed Chloe.
They all scolded Chloe, calling her a troublemaker who brought such a big problem to the Lewis family.
Chloe couldn't say anything.
Frederick ordered, "Release Victor."
Before taking action, he had specifically investigated the Lewis family. The total assets of the dozens of Lewis family members added up to just over a hundred million dollars. This painting was enough to bankrupt the Lewis family.
After being freed, Victor came to Chloe and slapped her hard, angrily cursing, " You've brought disaster to our Lewis family!"
Chloe's face turned red from the slap, and tears rolled down her cheeks. She cried out, "Grandpa, it really wasn't me."
"How dare you? Mr. Hall wouldn't wrong you!" Victor was furious and slapped her several more times.
After hitting her, he knelt on the ground, humbly pleading, "Mr. Hall, please give us a way out."
Frederick said coldly, "Give you a way out? Who ever gave our Hall family a way out? Because of one phone call from Chloe, Leo targeted our Hall family, causing us to go bankrupt."
Chloe realized and shouted, "It was you who framed me?"
"Yes." Frederick did not deny it. "Framing you, and what can you do about it? Your family must compensate me. As the Deputy Commander of the Western Territory, killing dozens of Lewis family members is easy for me."
Victor seemed to lose all his spirit and collapsed on the ground.
At that moment, he seemed to age decades, crying out, "It's over; the Lewis family is doomed."
"Throw Victor out," Frederick said.
"Yes."
Two fully armed men came over and forcibly dragged the crying Victor away.
The remaining Lewis family members were stunned into silence.
Frederick was serious, the Lewis family was finished, and it was all Chloe's fault.
"Chloe, you troublemaker; you ruined the Lewis family!"
"I shouldn't have had a daughter like you!"
"Chloe, your mistake can't drag down the whole family."
"Frederick, I have nothing to do with Chloe, let me go!"
"I don't want to die. Mr. Hall, I beg you; let me go; it was Chloe who offended you, take revenge on her, kill her, and let us go!"
The Lewis family members all begged for mercy.
Facing the powerful Frederick, they had no way out.
Hearing her family's words, Chloe even had the thought of dying. She was so angry that she fainted.
Frederick made a gesture.
Immediately, someone brought a basin of water and splashed it on Chloe's face.
Chloe, who had fainted, woke up again.
Frederick stood up, walked over, and a knife appeared in his hand. He lifted her chin, and the knife lightly slid across her fair face.
He coldly questioned, "Chloe, ten years ago, you broke into the Bennett Family fire and got burned. Now your face is quite pretty. Who was the person you saved from the fire ten years ago, and where is he now?"
"I don't know." Chloe's face turned pale, and her body trembled.
Frederick's knife slashed hard, and a wound appeared on Chloe's face, blood oozing out, instantly staining half her face red.
Chloe cried out in pain, struggling constantly, but with her limbs tied, no matter how she struggled, it was useless.
The other tied-up Lewis family members were also trembling with fear, some even fainting from fright.
"Say it; who was the person you saved? Did he come back to find you? What is your relationship with Leo? Why does Leo respect you so much?"
"I really don't know." Chloe cried.
Frederick slashed again, and another wound appeared on Chloe's face.
She only felt a burning pain on her face and could clearly feel the blood flowing down, from her cheek to her neck.
Frederick shouted, "Who was the person you saved? Did he come back to find you?"
Chloe was stunned by the shouting. She really didn't know. She didn't know who she saved ten years ago. She cried, tears streaming down.
"I really don't know. At that time, I didn't know it was the Bennett Family. I only found out later. I don't know who I saved. After I pulled him out of the fire, his face was already burned, and then he jumped into the river and was washed away. I don't know who he is, and he never came back to find me. Mr. Hall, I'm telling the truth; please let me go."
