Chapter 433 One Person Influences the Whole Thing

The Bennett Family.

An elderly man and a young woman were playing chess.

The man looked like he was in his fifties or sixties, dressed in vintage clothing.

The woman, around twenty years old, wore a white dress adorned with pearl flowers. Her features were delicate, her skin fair, resembling a meticulously crafted piece of art.

She was stunning, with an ethereal presence, like an angel.

"A lot happened last night," the elderly man said, contemplating his next move.

"Yeah," the woman in the white dress replied. "It was pretty chaotic. Alistair, the leader of the Five Great Marshals, was killed by the Execution Sword. And the killer..."

She glanced at the elderly man, noting his unchanged expression, then continued, "The killer was Richard's grandson, Larry."

"Amos called, saying they captured Larry and asked for the Bennett family's stance. He said if we don't go to the Powell family to demand Larry's release by nightfall, they'll kill him," the elderly man said slowly. "So, should I go or not?"

The woman responded, "Richard betrayed the family years ago; he's a traitor. His family was expelled long ago. Larry may carry the Bennett name, but he's no longer part of the Bennett family."

The elderly man nodded lightly.

"By the way, what is this Cabinet Room all about?" he asked.

The woman shook her head. "I've never heard of it. But, Grandpa, Larry has cultivated Qi. He's not even thirty yet and has done it without the family's guidance. How did he manage that?"

The elderly man was puzzled.

"I'm confused too. Things are getting chaotic, and I can't see the whole picture. Who's been guiding Larry behind the scenes?"

He pondered but couldn't figure it out.

"Should we save Larry?" the woman asked.

The elderly man shook his head. "We can't. The Powell family is likely suspicious, thinking this is a Bennett family plot. They're testing us by capturing Larry. If we intervene, it would confirm their suspicions, and they might join forces with the other two families against us."

The elderly man was none other than Cody Bennett, Richard's brother and the current head of the Bennett family.

Though he couldn't see the entire situation clearly, he understood this much: the Bennett family couldn't act. If they did, the blame would fall on them.

And Larry alone wasn't worth the risk.

"Could it be that someone survived the fire in Sunset City ten years ago and is behind this?" Cody murmured.

He was perceptive but uncertain.

"Grandpa, are you sure we shouldn't go to the Powell family to clear things up? If we don't, won't they misunderstand us?" the woman asked.

"No, we won't go."

He stood up. "We'll stay put and see who's stirring things up."

Meanwhile, at the Golden Sun Palace.

"Mr. Nelson, Larry has been captured by the Powell family. They informed the Bennett family, demanding they intervene. If the Bennett family doesn't act by tonight, Larry will be killed," King said worriedly.

"Yeah," Mr. Nelson nodded lightly.

"This was expected. We planned to use Larry to kill Alistair and drag the two families into conflict. But now an uncertain factor has emerged—the Cabinet Room. We don't know its origins. We might have been outmaneuvered, with the Cabinet Room aiming to incite internal strife and reap the benefits."

He was troubled.

Everything had been under his control until the Cabinet Room appeared, clouding the situation.

"Should we save Larry? He's been working for us and the country. If the Powell family kills him, we'll lose a valuable asset," King asked.

Mr. Nelson shook his head slightly. "We can't save him, and we can't. Without the Bennett family's intervention, no one can rescue Larry from the Powell family. Let's wait and see the Bennett family's stance. Achieving great things requires sacrifices."

"Got it," King nodded.

At that moment, a shadow entered, respectfully greeting, "King, Mr. Nelson."

"Any news on the Cabinet Room's origins?" King asked.

The shadow shook his head. "No, I've asked around, but no one knows about the Cabinet Room or where it came from."

King was puzzled. "It's strange. Could the Cabinet Room really not be a Bennett family creation?"

Mr. Nelson leaned back on the sofa, thinking for a moment. "We'll know by tonight. If the Cabinet Room is indeed the Bennett family's doing, they'll protect Larry."

"We'll wait and see. I hope the Cabinet Room is the Bennett family's creation because Larry is a rare talent. I don't want him to die at the Powell family's hands."

At Aurora Citadel.

Mr. Strother was warming himself by the fire.

A young woman stood in the room.

"What's the situation now?" Mr. Strother asked, turning his hands over the fire.

He seemed very afraid of the cold, warming himself even though winter hadn't arrived.

The young woman replied, "Things are chaotic. Larry killed Alistair with the Execution Sword, and the Cabinet Room helped him. But this morning, the Powell family captured Larry and informed the Bennett family. If they don't intervene by tonight, Larry will be killed."

"Cabinet Room?" Mr. Strother murmured. "What's its origin? Is it the Bennett family's doing?"

The young woman shook her head. "We don't know."

"What about Mr. Nelson?"

"No news from the Golden Sun Palace. Mr. Nelson hasn't acted, likely not planning to save Larry."

Mr. Strother nodded. "Even if he wanted to, he probably couldn't. Let's wait and see. By tonight, everything should be clear."

Alistair's death and Larry's capture caused a stir, with various influential figures speculating.

Ordinary families like the Evans, Harper, and Moore families were watching closely.

This conflict among the major players would shape Aurora Citadel's future.

With the situation still unclear, these families didn't know which side to support.

Meanwhile, in a hotel room.

Richard had returned.

Chloe couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Bennett, what's the situation?"

Richard's expression was serious. "It's not looking good. The Powell family captured Larry and demanded that the Bennett family intervene. If they don't act by tonight, Larry will be killed."

"What?" Chloe's face turned pale. She grabbed Richard's hand, pleading, "Mr. Bennett, please save him."

Richard waved his hand slightly. "Don't worry. We'll save him, but we need to plan first."
