Chapter 464 Richard Explains
                    Paisley shared her analysis.
All of this hinges on one assumption: that Richard is still alive and that he was the one who took Trinity.
If it wasn't Richard, and someone else impersonated him, then there are many variables at play, and her analysis wouldn't hold.
"So, just tell me, what should I do now?" Larry asked.
Paisley replied, "If it really is Richard, then Trinity won't be in danger. You just need to wait and see. I believe Richard will act soon, and when he does, the situation will become chaotic, involving the Four Great Families and some big names in Aurora Citadel. What you need to do now is to improve your strength as quickly as possible. You need to reach at least the fifth level to have a say in things; otherwise, you'll always be led by others."
Larry calmed down.
He thought carefully and analyzed the situation.
The masked woman in black at Aurora Citadel was undoubtedly Chloe.
Paisley, who saved him from the Powell family, was likely Chloe in disguise.
So, Paisley's speculation made sense.
Right now, he couldn't do anything.
What he could do was improve his strength in the shortest time possible.
"Larry, I think God is looking out for you. The situation is so chaotic, yet you've managed to unblock your meridians. You're only lacking Qi to reach the fifth level. Esmeralda has a strong cold energy within her that can help you quickly enhance your Qi. You might not reach the fifth level, but absorbing this cold energy could get you to the third level within a month."
Larry had unblocked his body's constraints, and his Qi would flow continuously, allowing his level to rise quickly. A few months of training could equal others' years of hard work.
Larry nodded.
Given the current situation, he had to focus on improving his strength as quickly as possible.
He also instructed Free and Matthew to investigate the person suspected to be Richard.
Larry spent the entire day at Esmeralda's house, waiting for news from Free and Matthew.
But after a whole day, he hadn't received any updates.
He called Free.
Free said, "Larry, we couldn't find anything. We couldn't trace the person in the surveillance footage or the car that took Trinity. It's like the car vanished after leaving the airport; none of the city's cameras captured it."
Larry hung up and called Matthew.
The result was the same.
Even Matthew's underground intelligence network couldn't trace the person who took Trinity.
With no information, Larry started to worry.
Paisley reassured him, "Don't worry. I believe Trinity will be fine. Follow my advice: don't do anything or think about anything else. Focus on improving your strength."
"I'm a bit tired. I'll go upstairs to rest," Larry said, then went upstairs.
After he left, Esmeralda spoke, "Paisley, you're amazing. You seem to know everything and analyze things so thoroughly."
Paisley smiled faintly.
Meanwhile, at PaxGen Pharmaceuticals.
Chloe finished work and left her office.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Abigail standing at the door. Chloe glanced at her and asked, "Why are you here instead of going home after work?"
"I wanted to talk to you," Abigail said with a smile, gesturing for Chloe to follow her. "Let's go."
Chloe crossed her arms and looked at Abigail. "I know what you're gonna ask. You wanna know about the questions Larry asked today, right? I'll tell you again, I don't know. I don't know anything."
She turned to leave.
"The more you say that, the more suspicious it sounds," Abigail murmured softly.
Chloe took the elevator down to the underground parking garage.
She pulled out her car keys and pressed a button.
A car not far away beeped.
She walked over, opened the door, and got in.
An elderly man was sitting in the passenger seat.
Startled, Chloe patted her chest and exclaimed, "Richard, what are you doing here? You're always so mysterious. And why didn't you answer my call at noon?"
Richard smiled, "I knew Larry went to see you and that you'd be confused. It's hard to explain over the phone, so I came to see you in person."
Chloe demanded, "What did you tell Trinity? Why did you take her? Larry came to question me today, and I didn't know what to say. It made him angry."
Richard asked, "You didn't tell him, did you?"
Chloe shook her head. "I didn't say anything. But Richard, what exactly are you planning? Can you tell me your plan?"
Chloe had never known Richard's intentions.
But everything Richard asked her to do was to help Larry.
The first time was to help Larry kill Alistair.
The second time was to save Larry.
Because it benefited Larry and didn't harm him, she agreed.
Now Richard had taken Trinity.
"Taking Trinity is a good thing. It means you have one less competitor," Richard said with a smile.
Chloe pouted, "I don't want Larry to misunderstand me."
Richard laughed, "It's nothing. Trinity is fine and in a safe place. Larry is too complacent right now, with no sense of urgency about the impending crisis. I took Trinity to motivate him."
"Really?" Chloe asked skeptically.
"Of course," Richard said. "Do you know how strong Larry's enemies are? He still needs a woman to protect him. Tomorrow, I'll find a chance to take Abigail too."
"No way."
Chloe immediately refused. "Richard, don't make things worse. Larry is already suspicious of me. If Abigail disappears too, Larry will be furious. I won't know what to do then."
"Then you should disappear too. Without women around him, without burdens, I believe he'll work harder. He's unblocked his body's constraints. If he doesn't train, it's a waste."
Richard spoke as if it were a trivial matter.
"Richard, are you serious? You're just trying to push Larry to work harder?"
"Of course," Richard shrugged. "He's my family. Why would I harm him? Are you worried I'll hurt Larry? If I wanted to harm him, would I have waited until now?"
Hearing this, Chloe's doubts dissipated.
"I also want Larry to resolve these issues quickly so he can finally step down from his official duties," Chloe sighed.
"Alright, come with me. Disappear tonight," Richard said, pointing ahead. "Drive."
Chloe frowned and asked, "How long will I be gone?"
Richard thought for a moment. "Two or three months. By Christmas, these complicated matters should be resolved, and you can come back."
Chloe considered it. Two or three months wasn't long.
If Larry could rise and solve a series of problems in that time, it would be perfect.
