Chapter 150 Identity Nameplate

In the interview room, a middle-aged man answered the phone.

"Yes, okay." He hung up the phone and looked at Abigail sitting across from him.

Standing up, he smiled and said, "Ms. Martinez, congratulations. The chairman is very pleased with you and has decided to appoint you as the vice president. You will have a three-month probation period. I hope you perform well and don't disappoint the chairman's expectations."

Abigail was taken aback. In the resume she submitted, she only applied for the position of department manager. But now she was directly appointed as the vice president.

The Serpent Group's assets were only in the hundreds million dollars. But the Epoch Group's assets were in the hundreds billion dollars, and this was not market value but actual assets. Although the positions were the same, the value was different.

In the chairman's office, after resolving Abigail's matter, Larry looked at Sue and said, "The vice president issue is temporarily resolved. Now, help arrange a job for me. I plan to take a post at the Epoch Group."

Sue was shocked that the dignified owner of the Epoch Group wanted to take a post at the Epoch Group.

"Larry, what are you planning to do?" she reacted and asked.

Larry thought for a moment and said, "It would be best if it's a position that sounds impressive and can intimidate outsiders but won't fool insiders. Most importantly, I don't want to come to the company every day; I don't have the time for that."

Sue fell into deep thought. Then, she suddenly said, "I got it, Larry. How about becoming a business manager?"

Larry asked, "What does that entail?"

Sue said, "It's basically a sales position. You will officially be making deals outside the company and there will be no need for you to report to the company every day. It sounds impressive when you say you're a manager, but anyone in the know will understand that it's just a regular sales position. Nowadays, no matter which company's salespeople are out doing business, they all call themselves business managers to elevate their status."

"That sounds good, then business manager it is." Larry laughed and thought, 'This is not bad. A business manager at the Epoch Group, that sounds prestigious and can intimidate quite a few people.'

"Larry, I'll go handle your onboarding procedures right away and get you an identity badge."

"What do you mean?" Larry was a bit puzzled.

Sue explained, "Larry, the Epoch Group is being built into a world-class group, and the identity badge is a representation of the Epoch Group. It's like a business card, made using the latest electronic encryption system. It'll be impossible to counterfeit it.."

"I see, go ahead then." Larry finally understood. It seemed that Sue had done quite a bit of work during this time and the identity badge was quite high-end.

Sue left. Soon, she completed Larry's onboarding procedures and brought back an identity badge.

The identity badge was the size of a business card, with information such as name and position.

Sue presented it with both hands and said, "Larry, this is your identity badge."

Larry took it and looked at it. The front had the words [Epoch Group] in large letters and a special logo. The logo was simple but meticulously designed, depecting a phantom figure jumping over the moon. It was the logo of the Epoch Group.

On the back of the badge was his name and position. [Name: Larry. Position: Business Manager.]

Larry showed satisfaction, and he praised, "Not bad at all."

"Umm, Larry..." Sue said hesitantly.

"What's wrong?" Larry looked at her and asked, "Just say it."

Sue took out some more identity badges and handed them to Larry. "I prepared these. See which one suits you and take it."

She knew Larry was low-key and didn't want to reveal his identity. But this was an era where strength mattered. Without strength, a person would be looked down upon. So, she prepared many badges for him.

Larry casually picked up a few and looked at them.

[Name: Larry. Position: Chairman of the Epoch Group.]

[Name: Larry. Position: Head of Security.]

[Name: Larry. Position: General Manager of the Epoch Group.]

Seeing these identity badges, Larry found it amusing. "Sue, what are you doing? Are you giving me these badges to show off?"

Sue said, "Larry..."

"Enough." Larry saw Sue's pale face and waved his hand slightly, saying, "I know you mean well. The business manager badge is enough. Put these away."

"Okay." Sue nodded and put away the identity badges.

Larry didn't stay long at the Epoch Group . He stood outside the building, watching many well-dressed successful people coming and going, feeling a bit dazed.

He never thought that one day he would also embark on a business path. Touching his nose, he muttered to himself, "Life is really amazing."

A voice then called out to him, and Larry looked up. At some point, Abigail had appeared in front of him.

Abigail crossed her arms and scrutinized Larry, "Did you fail?"

"Not at all." Larry pouted, took out his identity badge, and waved it in front of Abigail, saying proudly, "See this? Manager."

Abigail saw it and knew that in large corporations, salespeople often had business manager titles on their business cards. The Epoch Group was likely the same.

Although it was just a sales position. She was still slightly surprised, analyzing, 'Larry has just returned from the military with no business skills. How did he manage to get a sales position at the Epoch Group?

'The Epoch Group has very high requirements for salespeople, requiring a degree from a top university and extensive work experience. He has none of these.'

"What about you? Did you get the job?" Larry asked Abigail with a smile.

In his memory, Abigail was a very smart, gentle, and ambitious young woman. After ten years, Abigail had changed a lot. Her ambition was still strong, but she was no longer gentle. Dominant and cold were Larry's current impression of her.

Abigail didn't want to say anything to Larry. She thought, 'Why should I boast to you that I'm the vice president and will report to the Epoch Group for work starting tomorrow, you no-good live-in son-in-law? Boasting to you brings no sense of pride.'

Abigail put on her sunglasses and turned to leave.

Larry watched her departing figure and smiled. "Still quite aloof."

At this moment, outside the Epoch Group, a commotion suddenly arose. Many young women rushed to a car.

The car door opened, and Xavier Kingsley in a white suit with silver hair, dressed fashionably and looking very handsome, stepped out. As he got out, many young women screamed, and many people in the distance took out their phones to take pictures.

"Who is he? Such a big scene." Larry frowned.

The departing Abigail also saw Xavier getting out of the car and her eyes lit up. She changed her aloof demeanor, ran over, and stood in front of him. She screamed, "Xavier, I'm your fan. I love listening to your songs."

"Girlish fantasies." Larry saw this and couldn't help but pout. He thought Abigail was so aloof. Unexpectedly, she completely changed when she saw a celebrity.
