Chapter 445 Perhaps Unraveled

Larry's mind was racing with a wild and daring idea.

Forcing his energy, Qi, to flow in reverse caused his blood to back up, leading to catastrophic internal injuries.

He lay on the ground, blood continuously pouring out.

The blood spilled onto the ancient scroll, onto the Artwork of Moonlit.

However, in that instant, the Artwork of Moonlit began to change.

Larry hadn't completely lost consciousness.

In a daze, he saw the moon on the Artwork of Moonlit disappear, the white flowers wither, and a blazing sun silently appear in the sky. Under the sun's rays, the image on the scroll changed, revealing small characters in the mountain forest.

Larry's heart skipped a beat.

He widened his eyes, staring intently at the Artwork of Moonlit, focusing on the characters that appeared in the mountains.

The characters were ancient, from a thousand years ago, but Larry had studied them.

He forced himself to memorize them.

They were profound and difficult to understand.

After memorizing them, he passed out.

The bloodstains on the Artwork of Moonlit vanished, and the image returned to normal.

It was unclear how much time had passed.

Paisley walked in.

As soon as she entered the underground chamber, she saw Larry lying on the ground, blood everywhere, staining the ancient scroll, but the Artwork of Moonlit was untouched by blood.

She quickly rushed over, knelt down, and gently shook Larry. "Larry!"

But Larry didn't respond.

She quickly checked his injuries, noticing his critical condition. Her face changed slightly, and she swiftly picked up Larry, rushing out of the underground chamber.

"Grandpa, Grandpa!"

As she exited the chamber, she called out loudly.

A shadow flashed, and Cody appeared, looking at the blood-soaked Larry. "What happened?"

Paisley hurriedly explained, "I don't know. When I went to the chamber, I found him on the ground, covered in blood. I checked his body, and his breath is very weak."

"Take him to the room."

"Yes."

Paisley carried Larry back to the room.

Inside the room.

Cody examined Larry's injuries, his old face growing serious. "What did this kid do to get hurt so badly?"

"Grandpa, can he be saved?" Paisley asked, worry etched on her face.

"We'll try."

Cody climbed onto the bed, sitting cross-legged.

He placed his hand on Larry's chest and pulled upward sharply.

Larry was lifted by a powerful force, instantly sitting cross-legged on the bed.

Cody placed his hand on Larry's back, channeling his Qi into Larry's body to heal his severe injuries.

In just a short time, Cody was drenched in sweat.

He stopped.

Larry collapsed onto the bed.

Paisley couldn't help but ask, "Grandpa, how is he?"

Cody shook his head and sighed. "The injuries are too severe. He won't make it. His body won't last three days. He'll be dead within three days."

"What?" Paisley's face changed slightly. "What should we do?"

Cody said, "He must have forced his Qi to flow according to the meridian diagram, causing his blood to back up and his internal organs to rupture and bleed."

He looked puzzled.

"But his Qi was already dispersed. How could he still channel Qi?"

He glanced at Paisley.

Paisley quickly shook her head. "I don't know."

"This kid," Cody sighed. "He had a slim chance of survival, but he chose to throw it away."

At that moment, Larry woke up.

He heard Cody's words and weakly asked, "Is there really no hope?"

Cody glanced at him. "No hope."

With that, he turned and left.

The room was left with just Larry and Paisley.

Larry weakly asked, "The Artwork of Moonlit?"

Paisley replied, "It's in the underground chamber."

"Was there anything unusual?"

"Huh?" Paisley was taken aback. "No, nothing unusual."

"No, something must have happened. Take me back to see it. Maybe the secret of the Artwork of Moonlit has been revealed."

"But you're like this..."

"Take me there, quickly."

Paisley couldn't refuse Larry. She had no choice but to carry the barely conscious Larry back to the underground chamber.

Before they reached the chamber, a handsome man in a white shirt approached.

"Paisley, what are you doing?"

The man frowned as he saw Paisley carrying a blood-soaked Larry.

"Sirius."

Paisley called out.

Sirius saw Larry and chuckled. "Well, if it isn't Larry. Rumor had it you were with the Bennett family. I didn't believe it, but here you are."

He walked over, looking at Paisley, and commanded, "Why are you carrying him? Let go."

"Sirius, this is Grandpa's..."

"Don't use Grandpa to scare me. Let go."

"But..."

Sirius grabbed the barely conscious Larry and yanked him away.

Though Sirius practiced martial arts, he was much weaker than Paisley and even weaker than Larry before he lost his Qi. But Paisley didn't dare to fight Sirius.

Larry was pulled down, hitting the ground hard with a painful cry.

Paisley looked on with a pained expression but kept her head down, not daring to speak.

Though she was part of the Bennett family, she wasn't of their blood, just adopted.

Sirius, on the other hand, was a direct descendant and the future head of the Bennett family.

Seeing Larry on the ground like a dying dog, Sirius smirked, stepping on him and looking down. "You criminal, how dare you show up at the Bennett family. You're asking for death."

"What are you doing?"

A stern voice called out.

"Grandpa."

Sirius immediately lifted his foot, respectfully addressing Cody.

Cody glanced at the pained Larry on the ground, then at Paisley, scolding, "What are you doing? You know he's injured. How could you bring him out?"

Paisley knelt down, explaining, "Grandpa, Larry insisted on going back to the underground chamber to check the Artwork of Moonlit. He was very insistent. I had no choice."

"Like this, and he still wants to study the Artwork of Moonlit?" Cody glanced at Larry.

Larry weakly said, "I only have a few days left. Even if I die, I want to die in the underground chamber."

"What?" Sirius shouted, pointing at Larry. "Grandpa, you let this outsider study the Artwork of Moonlit? It's our family heirloom. I haven't even seen it..."

Cody scolded, "If you focused on your training and cultivated your Qi, you would have seen it long ago. Now get back to your training."

Sirius didn't dare argue. He glanced at Larry with murderous intent, then turned and left.

"Take him down."

Cody didn't say much more, leaving with a final word.

Paisley picked up Larry again. "Larry, I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

Larry weakly shook his head. "You're part of the Bennett family. Why do you seem to have such a low status?"

"Sigh."

Paisley sighed.
