Chapter 357 Return to Heavenly Mountain

Larry's face was dark and terrifying, veins bulging on his forehead.

He never expected that even after divorcing Chloe, someone would kidnap her to threaten him.

But he didn't lose his composure.

He called Matthew, who was far away in Sunset City.

Matthew was entertaining a guest when his phone rang. Seeing it was Larry, he immediately excused himself and went to a secluded spot.

"Hey, Dragon Lord, what's up?"

"Grim Reaper, I need you to find Chloe."

Matthew was slightly taken aback but quickly nodded. "Alright, give me five minutes."

He didn't know what had happened, but Larry's tone was off.

After hanging up, he immediately contacted the underground intelligence network.

After Valerian's departure, his people had taken over the intelligence department again.

Larry waited patiently after making the call.

Five minutes passed quickly.

"Dragon Lord, we couldn't find Chloe. It's like she vanished from Sunset City."

"Got it." Larry hung up.

He stood up, walked out of Black Dragon Mansion, and shouted, "Get the car ready."

Soon, a fully fueled off-road vehicle was ready, and Larry drove away from Southwild.

He headed towards Heavenly Mountain Pass.

Heavenly Mountain Pass was a border area between nations, a place where no one had jurisdiction.

However, the cities near Heavenly Mountain Pass had been incorporated into Summer Nation, making the pass part of Summer Nation's territory.

Larry drove to the foot of Heavenly Mountain, parked the car, and started climbing.

At the top, there were a few wooden cabins.

This was also where Larry had previously fought against the masters of twenty-eight nations.

Inside one of the cabins, Chloe sat on a chair, looking coldly at the people in the room. "You kidnapped me to threaten Larry? You're mistaken. We're divorced. We have no relationship. He doesn't care about me and won't come here alone to save me."

An old man sat across from her.

He wore a simple gray robe, had white hair, and looked dignified.

He was Alfonso Carr, the bishop of Vast Church in Aurora Citadel's Vast Mountain.

Alfonso glanced at Chloe and said calmly, "That's not your concern. You should worry about yourself. If Larry doesn't come, you have no value, and this will be your burial ground."

Chloe, having been through so much, was no longer the naive girl she once was.

She replied coldly, "If you're going to kill me, just do it. No need for all this talk."

Alfonso closed his eyes and didn't respond.

Though Chloe spoke bravely, she was terrified inside.

At the same time, she hoped Larry would come to save her.

"Will he come for me?"

"After everything I did to him, and now that we're divorced, and he's with Abigail, will he still care about me?"

Many thoughts raced through Chloe's mind.

At that moment, a man in a black jacket approached and said, "Mr. Carr, Larry is at the foot of the mountain."

Alfonso opened his eyes, a sharp glint flashing in his cloudy gaze. "Is he alone?"

"Yes."

"Good."

A cold smile appeared on Alfonso's face. "If he dares to come up, this will be his burial ground."

Larry climbed Heavenly Mountain on foot.

He didn't see any armed mercenaries or hidden sentries along the way.

He frowned.

"Who the hell kidnapped Chloe?"

Larry thought the enemy would set a trap for him, but he saw no one along the way.

It wasn't until he reached the top and saw people that he realized.

Larry looked at the unfamiliar men standing in front of the cabin and frowned slightly as he approached.

"Stop."

The men blocked Larry's path, and one of them stepped forward, saying coldly, "First, a body search."

Larry wasn't sure if Chloe was there.

He didn't act rashly.

He allowed the enemy to search him.

He hadn't brought any weapons.

He only carried some silver needles and the steel wire that made up the Against Heaven 81 Needles.

The silver needles and Against Heaven 81 Needles were confiscated.

Larry glanced at the man searching him and said calmly, "You better keep my things safe. If you lose a single needle, your head will roll."

With that, he walked into the cabin.

As soon as Larry entered, applause rang out.

An old man stood up, clapping and laughing. "Larry, you really dared to come. I admire your courage."

Larry saw Chloe sitting to the side.

She wasn't tied up and had no visible injuries.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

Seeing Larry, Chloe's tears fell uncontrollably, streaking her cheeks.

She thought Larry wouldn't come.

But he did.

At that moment, several men approached, pointing guns at Larry's head.

Larry looked at Alfonso, the leader, and smiled faintly. "Just these few men? Are you underestimating me, or are you overly confident in your own strength?"

Alfonso laughed, glancing at Larry. "Larry, to kill you, I don't need many men or elaborate plans. As long as Chloe is in my hands, you have to do as I say."

"Is that so?" Larry smiled faintly.

Then he struck suddenly.

The men pointing guns at his head were instantly knocked to the ground.

Alfonso didn't react much. He sat in his chair, watching Larry's performance, watching Larry take down his men.

He clapped again.

"As expected of the Black Dragon. In terms of strength, no one in the world is your match."

Larry looked at Alfonso.

He had a bad feeling.

He didn't know where Alfonso's confidence came from, but he was still so sure of himself.

At that moment, Chloe suddenly screamed.

She fell from her chair.

Lying on the ground, she cried out in pain.

Larry rushed over and lifted Chloe from the ground.

"It hurts, it hurts, Larry, it hurts so much."

Chloe clutched her head, pulling at her hair, tearing out handfuls.

Larry quickly grabbed her wrist, checking her pulse.

After examining her, he found Chloe's body was healthy, with no signs of poisoning.

But Chloe was in excruciating pain.

He held Chloe, looking at Alfonso, and asked coldly, "What did you do to her?"

"Nothing much."

Alfonso said calmly, "She was just infected with a Gu worm I've been cultivating for thirty years. The Gu worm will enter her brain through her bloodstream, gnawing at her brain, turning her into a madwoman, a fool."

Alfonso spoke nonchalantly.

Larry's body radiated a terrifying aura.

"Larry, it hurts so much, save me, save me, I don't want to die."

Chloe's painful cries echoed in Larry's ears, each word tugging at his nerves.
