Chapter 257 Reinvest Another Trillion Dollars

This little secretary was pretty chill about not giving Larry a hard time.

To her, Larry was just some salesperson wanting to check out the VP's office.

"Abigail really did call me here. If you don't believe me, go ask her. If she gets mad, can you handle it?"

Sable Nightshade noticed Larry didn't seem to be lying. She gave him a puzzled look and said, "Wait here, I'll go check."

She knocked on the door and called out, "Abigail, there's a salesman named Larry who says you called him."

Abigail's voice came from inside, "Let him in."

Sable turned back to Larry and said, "Alright, go ahead."

Larry walked to the office and pushed the door open. Abigail's office was huge and fancy.

She sat in her chair, legs crossed, giving Larry a playful smile, "Impressed? If I hadn't called you, you'd never set foot in the VP's office."

Larry walked over and plopped down on the sofa in the lounge area. He grabbed a cup of tea from the table and took a sip.

"What do you want?"

"Larry, that's my tea." Abigail walked over, gritting her teeth, glaring at him.

"Okay." Larry put the tea down.

He looked up at Abigail, who was dressed in work attire, her long hair tied up, looking all professional.

"How's work going?"

She pulled out a printed form and tossed it to him, "We joined the company on the same day. Look at what you've done since then."

"Abigail, you're the VP. Why are you bothering with a small-time salesman like me? Isn't that beneath you?" Larry said, feeling a bit helpless.

He only had a nominal position at Epoch Group, not expecting Abigail to take it seriously.

Abigail crossed her arms, a faint smile on her face, and changed her tone, "Larry, be straight with me. Who are you? You know both medicine and martial arts. Why are you getting close to Chloe?"

Larry looked at her. Was Abigail already suspicious of his identity?

He smiled faintly and said, "I'm just a retired soldier."

"Don't lie to me."

Abigail's face turned serious.

Before, she might have believed him. But after everything that had happened, she couldn't buy it anymore.

Now she saw a sense of calm and confidence in Larry. As an Epoch Group employee, he showed no signs of panic in front of the VP. Instead, he was composed and collected.

"What's your relationship with Black Dragon?"

Abigail asked the question that had been bugging her for days.

Both were named Larry, both knew medicine and martial arts. The only difference was their appearance.

But for someone skilled in medicine, making a human skin mask was easy.

Plus, Larry had married into the Lewis Family.

She was starting to doubt. Calling Larry to ask about work was just a cover; she really wanted to know his identity.

Larry touched his nose. Abigail was pretty sharp, actually linking him to Black Dragon.

"Abigail, you're overthinking it. How could I be connected to Black Dragon? He's already dead," Larry said calmly.

Abigail was skeptical. "Really?"

The more she observed Larry, the more she felt he wasn't ordinary. And Larry had also retired from Southwild. With everything that had happened, it was hard not to be suspicious.

Larry's visit to Epoch Group quickly reached Sue. She headed towards Abigail's office.

As she walked through the company, everyone greeted her respectfully.

Sue ignored everyone and headed straight to Abigail's office, giving the door a gentle knock.

"Who is it?" Abigail was in the middle of grilling Larry. Hearing the knock, she turned and snapped, "Can't you see I'm busy?"

"Larry, it's me, Sue," came the voice from outside.

The mention of Larry's name left Abigail stunned. Larry frowned too.

After a moment of surprise, Abigail glanced at Larry lounging on the sofa, then personally went to open the door, smiling, "Chairwoman, what brings you here? Please come in."

Sue walked in, her high heels clicking on the floor, and went straight to Larry. "Larry, why didn't you tell me you were coming? I would've come to greet you."

Larry shrugged, "I didn't plan on it. Abigail called me in to question my poor performance."

Abigail was bewildered.

The chairwoman of Epoch Group, Sue, was showing respect to Larry. What was his true identity?

Sue turned to the stunned Abigail and said coldly, "Abigail, you're really dedicated, huh? As the VP, you're personally checking on a salesman's performance."

"Chairwoman, let me explain," Abigail panicked.

Larry waved it off, "Forget it, it's nothing."

"Alright," Sue said, not pushing the matter further. She turned back to Larry, "Larry, it was my oversight yesterday. From now on, I'll personally handle anything you need."

"No biggie. The Lewis Family needs to face some setbacks."

Sue didn't dare to argue.

Abigail, on the other hand, was in turmoil. She didn't dare to speculate further about Larry's identity.

"By the way," Larry suddenly asked, "Which companies have been giving Epoch Group a hard time lately?"

Sue glanced at Abigail, "Quickly report the company's situation to Larry."

Abigail looked at Larry, feeling a mix of confusion and disbelief. She had called him in to question his performance, and now she was the one reporting to him.

Since Sue had spoken, she didn't dare delay and quickly replied, "Recently, many companies have been opposing Epoch Group, including Prosperity Business Alliance, Five-State Business Alliance, and other well-known domestic enterprises. The company is losing money daily, and there aren't many usable funds left in the accounts. Despite this, we're rolling out a comprehensive strategy to build a business that's an integral part of daily life and deeply connected to people."

Larry listened attentively. This was all within his expectations.

Abigail continued, "Several major families in Aurora Citadel have joined forces to buy a piece of land in the suburbs of Sunset City, intending to build a new city. Now, many enterprises are temporarily applying to move into NextGen City and are observing the situation."

"Alright," Larry nodded. "I'll transfer one trillion dollars to the company's account. In the short term, we don't need to focus on profitability. What I want is to build a true business empire."

"One trillion dollars?" Sue and Abigail were both shocked.

Larry smiled faintly, "If you use up this one trillion dollars without any profit, you won't need to work here anymore."

"Understood," Abigail immediately nodded.

Sue said, "Larry, I'll get back to work."

Larry waved his hand, "Go ahead."

After Sue left, Abigail finally reacted, looking at Larry with an incredulous expression, "You are actually the real owner of Epoch Group. Sue is just someone who follows your orders. Who exactly are you?"

She kept staring at Larry, trying to understand him better.
