Chapter 125 Future Plans
The troublemaking employees didn't bother Chloe one bit. In her eyes, a company didn't need employees of no values. If someone wanted to leave, Chloe wouldn't stop them. For those who stayed, she'd offer the best pay.
"Ms. Lewis, let me show you around the factory," Thomas said, gesturing for Chloe to follow him inside.
"Dad, Grandpa," Tommy finally spoke up, looking confused. "What's going on? How did Chloe from Everjoy become our factory's chairman?"
Thomas explained, "The Everlasting Group is the result of our decades of hard work. I couldn't bear to see it become outsiders'. Chloe is a family. By handing it over to her, the company will reach new heights."
"Grandpa Thomas, I won't let you down," Chloe promised.
The group entered the factory.
"Ms. Lewis, we recently upgraded the equipment here. We invested over ten million dollars, and it's still new," Thomas said, leading Chloe through the workshop.
Chloe nodded, clearly pleased. The factory was decent, the equipment was top-notch, and there were skilled technicians. Although some had left, it didn't affect the overall situation. Now, all they needed were some orders to revitalize the Everlasting Group.
While others struggled to get orders from big companies, for Chloe, it was a piece of cake.
"Chloe, do you really know big names like Leo from Legion Lord and Kelly from Everlife Group? Can you really get orders from them?" Tommy asked, still puzzled.
Chloe smiled. "I think I can get some orders. I'll visit Everlife Pharmaceuticals this afternoon to see Miss Moore and secure some orders so the Everlasting Group can operate normally. We'll tackle the other issues gradually."
"That's awesome," Tommy said excitedly.
The market was tough this year, with many new factories popping up. These new factories had connections with major groups and got orders preferentially, impacting older factories without such connections. Many established plants went bankrupt.
Now that the Everlasting Group could get orders, the factory employees would have work to do.
Chloe confidently promised, "In the future, everyone in the factory can work overtime every day, working until they're exhausted."
She understood the lower-level employees well. Their income mainly came from overtime. Without overtime, they earned about five thousand dollars a month. With it, they could make seven to eight thousand or even ten thousand a month. Though tiring, people preferred factories with more overtime opportunities.
"Grandpa Thomas, you're familiar with the factory's affairs. You can temporarily take the responsibility of factory manager. When we find a suitable candidate, I'll make a change. For now, notify the employees to go to the finance department to collect their salaries, with each person receiving an extra half month's pay."
"Yes," Thomas agreed without complaint. Chloe was the chairman now, and even if she fired him, he wouldn't argue.
Next, Chloe looked at Drake. "Drake, there will be some personnel changes. We can't keep employees who don't add value. For now, you'll be the vice president. Once I fully take over and understand the company, I'll make detailed plans for personnel changes."
Drake nodded in agreement.
"And here is one more thing. The name 'Everlasting Group' will definitely be changed. Once the company operates normally and the Trade Center is fully open for business, the company will be renamed, fully reorganized, and established as a new group, moving into NextGen City." Chloe's words left everyone surprised.
They weren't upset about the name change; they were shocked by the move to NextGen City.
As residents of Sunset City, they knew that NextGen City had been under construction for five years and was just completed. It was set to become a top-tier financial center, representing the future of Sunset City.
Drake and the others had heard that only large enterprises could move in, and the entry fee alone was a staggering twenty million dollars. Once inside, they could open medical clinics, clothing stores, and restaurants in NextGen City.
Large enterprises moving in would enjoy numerous benefits. However, even opening a small restaurant in the food street required a prohibitively high one-time fee. They never dreamed they could move into NextGen City.
"Ms. Lewis, are you serious?" Tommy asked, a bit excited.
"Let's give it a shot. It might not work," Chloe admitted, not entirely confident.
When she was at Everjoy Company, Chloe had been preparing, continuously expanding the business to increase the company's strength and gain the qualification to move in.
The Everlasting Group was far weaker than Everjoy, making Chloe even less confident. But this was Chloe's dream. It was also the dream of all enterprises.
Moving into NextGen City would mean receiving the protection of the Epoch Group, bringing numerous benefits in the future.
Moreover, Chloe felt she could succeed because of the masked man. She couldn't help but think of the person she had saved from the Bennett Family, the masked man who had also saved her.
For some reason, Chloe always felt that this person was still alive and was silently helping her from behind. Although it was just a wishful thought, she hoped it was true.
Thinking of this, Chloe couldn't help but blush and secretly glanced at Larry. Seeing him looking around, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Chloe thought to herself, 'I have a husband. I shouldn't be thinking about other men.' She shook her head, trying to clear her mind of the chaotic thoughts.
Chloe's words excited Thomas and the others. Handing the Everlasting Group to Chloe was indeed a good choice.
In their hands, the Everlasting Group would only be a processing factory, never becoming a true enterprise and never gaining the qualification to move into the Epoch Financial Center. Now, with Chloe, this dream was within reach.
Moreover, Thomas and the others still held 10% of the shares. Once the Everlasting Group developed, the current 10% would be worth much more than the previous 100%.
After touring the factory, Chloe left. As soon as she reached the factory gate, a group of people approached.
These were the people who had gone to the finance department to ask for their salaries.
The finance department was already processing the payments, and many had already received their salaries. Now they knew that the Everlasting Group really had money.
"Ms. Lewis, I'm sorry. Please give me another chance to come back to work."
"Ms. Lewis, it was all Eric's fault. I won't believe him anymore. Please give me another chance. I can't lose my job."
Many employees came forward, pleading.
Some work groups had already spread the news that the basic salary had increased by 20%, and even the overtime pay had gone up. It wasn't easy to find a job now.
Chloe wasn't a heartless person and understood the difficulties of the lower-level employees. She said, "Those who want to come back are welcome, but I hope you will work hard in the future."
"Ms. Lewis..." Eric emerged from the crowd, appearing in front of Chloe with a bright smile on his slightly chubby face. "Ms. Lewis, I was just joking with you before. I still want to come back to work. A 20% salary increase like everyone else is fine. No need to double it."
Eric was the deputy factory manager, with a monthly salary of over ten thousand dollars. It wasn't easy to find such a high-paying job now.
Chloe glanced at Eric and said, "Security, get Eric out of here."
Before the security could arrive, Tommy stood up and angrily scolded, "Eric, you despicable guy, you even wanted to sell the factory's equipment. The Everlasting Group has treated you well, and you repay it with such ingratitude. Get out of here."
"Ms. Lewis, what are you doing? I'm the deputy factory manager. This is too much."
Several security guards approached and shouted, "Eric, leave now."
"I've never liked Eric. He always acted arrogantly because he was the deputy factory manager."
"Get out."
The security guards kicked and shoved Eric out of the factory.
