Chapter 68 Grim Reaper, Ghost Lord
This underground chamber wasn't very large, only a little over 500 square feet. Stone walls flanked the sides, and iron doors were at the front and back.
The iron door they entered through had already been locked.
The iron door in front was closed, and there was a black curtain, obscuring the view behind it.
Seeing the door locked, Sue frowned slightly and looked at Larry. "Mr. Bennett, what's this?"
Larry waved his hand slightly and said, "It's fine. Let's wait."
He had been through all kinds of dangerous situations and wouldn't worry about such a small local power.
Larry was calm, but Sue was very nervous.
Although she had been mingling in the underworld, she was just a thief and had never dealt with such big figures.
"Mr. Bennett, Frank, will it be okay?" Beads of sweat appeared on her pretty face because she had seen the heavily guarded place with at least a hundred fully armed mercenaries when they arrived.
Frank reassured Sue, "It's fine. If something really happens, I can fight our way out alone without Larry's help."
Hearing this, Sue felt much more at ease.
They waited in the stone room for about ten minutes.
Ten minutes later, a hoarse voice came from behind the black curtain in front. "Are you Frank, introduced by Aaron Baker?"
Frank immediately responded, "Yes, Aaron introduced me."
"Tell me, what information do you want to buy?" Frank glanced at Larry.
Larry spoke, "Is this how you do business? At least let us sit down, and you should at least show yourself, right?"
After being brought to the stone room, there weren't even any chairs, which had already annoyed Larry.
Now the Grim Reaper appeared but didn't show himself, speaking through the black curtain instead.
A hoarse voice came from behind the black curtain. "In my place, no matter who comes, they can only stand. As for showing myself, that's unnecessary. Tell me, what information do you need?"
Larry said, "Besides the Four Great Families, which other underground forces were involved in the destruction of the Bennett family ten years ago. I need a list of everyone involved and to know who the mastermind was."
The stone room fell into silence instantly.
After a while, a voice came. "This is top-secret information, sealed for years. No one has ever come to buy this information. If you want it, the price is 1.5 billion dollars."
Larry said, "No problem, but I need to get the information first."
A cold snort came from behind the black curtain. "In my place, there's no precedent for getting the information first. Pay first, then get the information. I've always been trustworthy. If I didn't have the information, I wouldn't have named a price."
Larry darkened his face.
Sue behind him felt a chill sweep over her.
Only Frank knew that Larry was angry.
Tonight, this place might be drenched in blood.
Larry took a step forward.
"Don't act rashly..." A cold shout came.
Immediately, dozens of fully armed mercenaries appeared behind them, weapons in hand, countless red dots aimed at the three of them.
Larry frowned.
His silver needles had been confiscated, making it impossible to subdue the dozens of fully armed mercenaries behind him in an instant.
Larry turned around and looked at Frank. "Is there still money in the account?"
Frank nodded. "There's still some, not much, but there's at least a billion dollars or so."
Larry nodded. "Alright, let's make the deal."
Then, looking at the black curtain in front, he said, "Okay, deal. But if there's any problem with the information you give me, don't blame me."
"Don't worry. I always keep my word and never deceive my clients." the man promised.
Larry asked, "How do we make the transaction?"
"Direct transfer."
Larry nodded. "Alright."
At this moment, the dozens of mercenaries behind them walked over with weapons, pressing the guns against the three's heads.
Then, the black curtain in front was lifted, and a man in black with a hood walked over and opened the iron door.
Larry glanced over and saw a luxurious room behind the iron door.
On the sofa in the room sat a middle-aged man named Leon Gray.
Leon was about forty years old, slightly chubby, wearing a tank top, with a dragon tattoo on his arm.
"Go." The mercenaries behind them pressed their guns against Larry and the others.
The three of them walked over.
"Sit down." Leon, in a black tank top, pointed to the sofa.
Larry glanced at him and sat down.
Frank and Sue also sat down beside Larry.
Although they sat down, the mercenaries didn't leave, still pointing their guns at them.
Larry asked calmly, "Are you the Grim Reaper, the so-called Ghost Lord?"
Leon didn't speak, just glanced at a hooded man standing behind him.
The hooded man immediately understood and brought over a laptop.
Leon, in a black tank top, pointed to the laptop on the table and said, "Swiss bank, make the transfer. After that, you'll get the information immediately."
Larry laughed. "Ghost Lord, with so many people pointing guns at me, I don't dare to make the transfer. If you go back on your word after I transfer, I'm done for."
Leon, in a black tank top, made a reassuring gesture and said, "You can rest assured. I always keep my word. I've made it this far by being trustworthy."
Larry turned around and glanced behind him.
With one look, he knew how many people were behind him.
He leaned back on the sofa, crossed his legs, and moved them a few times.
Frank immediately understood.
After Larry leaned back on the sofa, he said, "I've also heard that the Ghost Lord is very trustworthy. But I'm still not at ease. How about this? You give me the information first, I'll check it. If it's correct, I'll pay."
Leon slapped the table.
As he slapped, the mercenaries behind Larry took a few steps forward, pressing their guns against the three's heads.
He added, "Bastard, do I need to repeat myself? In my place, you pay first, then get the information. There's no precedent for getting the information first."
Larry smiled faintly and said, "In business, we can always negotiate. Just because it hasn't happened before doesn't mean it can't happen in the future."
He and Frank remained calm.
Black Rose was different. With a gun pressed against her head, she didn't dare to move, sweat appearing on her forehead.
Meanwhile, in another room, an elderly man in his sixties was sitting. This man was the real Ghost Lord. He was smoking and watching the surveillance.
The surveillance footage showed the scene in Larry's stone room.
The Ghost Lord snapped his fingers.
A man standing behind him immediately walked over and respectfully said, "Ghost Lord."
"Have you found out the detailed information about these three?" the Ghost Lord asked.
"Ghost Lord, we've found out. The man in the middle is named Larry. He just arrived in Sunset City not long ago. The records show he was a low-ranking soldier in Southwild and is now the son-in-law of the Lewis family," one said, "The one next to him is named Frank. He runs a clinic in Sunset City. We haven't found any information on the woman yet. She seems to have entered Sunset City illegally."
The Ghost Lord frowned.
'One is a retired soldier and the other is a clinic owner. Why would they come to buy information about the Bennett family's destruction ten years ago?' he thought.
These people were not simple.
With guns pointed at their heads, they remained calm and even joked around.
They must have experienced significant events.
"Introduced by Aaron?" the Ghost Lord asked.
"Yes," one answered.
"Call Aaron and ask for detailed information about these three," the Ghost Lord demanded.
"Yes."
