Chapter 242 Abigail's Thoughts
When Larry brought up a million bucks, Chloe suddenly remembered what went down yesterday.
Yesterday at Maple Grove Mansion, Larry wired three million dollars to Visionary.
She meant to ask him about it last night, but so much happened that she never got the chance.
"Larry, where'd you get the money?" she asked, clearly pissed.
Larry awkwardly scratched his head and grinned, "I moved it from my account last time, worried you might blow all the cash, and we'd be in a tough spot later."
Chloe went quiet. She had already lost the two hundred million dollars Larry had given her.
Maria looked really down. Her family was struggling, and Larry was still giving money to Victor.
"Grandpa, what's your bank account number?"
Larry glanced at Victor, who was slumped on the sofa, not expecting to rely on Larry one day. But life had to go on.
Without Larry's money, the whole family would struggle to even eat.
Victor didn't refuse and said, "Larry, once the Lewis Family gets through this mess, I'll pay you back tenfold."
But he didn't sound too sure. The Lewis Family had pissed off the Carter Family and the Martinez Family, both part of the Five-State Business Alliance.
It was gonna be tough for the Lewis Family to bounce back.
With the bank account info, Larry made the transfer. Victor looked grateful.
But the other Lewis Family members were still fuming. They blamed Chloe for their current mess.
Oscar grumbled, "Larry, don't think we'll be grateful just 'cause you gave us money. This whole mess is Chloe's fault. Without her, we'd still be living large."
"Yeah, Chloe just had to piss off the Carter Family and the Martinez Family."
"Ten years ago, she should've been kicked out of the family."
The Lewis Family members threw all kinds of harsh words at Chloe.
Realizing it, Chloe kept apologizing.
Larry waved his hand to stop the argument, "Enough. It's no big deal. We'll get through this. In a few days, there's the medical conference in Sunset City. We need to seize this chance and win the title of 'Divine Doctor.'"
Jack's son Adam sneered at Larry, "Larry, you think you can pull that off?"
His sister Luna chimed in, "Yeah, that's a joke."
The Lewis Family didn't believe Larry, but he just smiled and didn't say much.
"Alright, let's find a place to crash for now," Victor stood up and called everyone to leave.
After the Lewis Family left, Maria stood up and smacked Larry on the head, scolding, "Larry, what are you doing? Why'd you give them your money?"
"Mom—"
Chloe tried to defend Larry, "This is partly my fault. If it weren't for me..."
"Shut up," Maria snapped. Chloe immediately clammed up. Maria kept scolding Larry.
Finally, she held out her hand and said, "How much money do you have left? Give it all to me, and I'll keep it."
Larry knew if he refused, Maria wouldn't let him off easy.
He thought carefully. Chloe knew he had transferred three million dollars to Visionary yesterday. Now he took out one million dollars.
"Mom, I only have two million dollars left. This is my money from ten years in the military."
"Transfer the money to my account right now."
"Okay." Larry took out his phone, logged into online banking, and started the transfer.
After the money was transferred, Maria let Larry go. Chloe pulled Larry back to their room.
Once in the room, she looked down like a kid who got caught doing something wrong, "Honey, I'm sorry. It's my fault for causing you trouble."
Larry said, "It's okay, but I really don't have any money left this time."
Chloe sat on the bed and let out a deep sigh.
"If I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have tried to take over Everlasting Group. Now, not only did I lose all the money, but I also dragged the family into debt," Chloe said, beating herself up.
She raised her hand to hit herself, but Larry quickly grabbed it.
"What are you doing? I told you I'd handle it. Just give me some time."
Chloe threw herself into Larry's arms and started sobbing. Larry held her, comforting her for a long time.
Finally, Chloe stopped crying and asked, "Honey, now that the Lewis Family is completely ruined, we can barely put food on the table. Do you have any way to help the Lewis Family get through this crisis and succeed again?"
Larry said, "Not right now, but I'll figure something out soon. Let the Lewis Family suffer a bit; they've been too arrogant."
"Okay."
At this point, Chloe had no other options but to trust Larry. During this time, Larry had shown great strength, helping her through several difficulties.
Larry stood up and said, "By the way, I need to go out for a bit."

Larry looked at her, who was in a fitted dress, showing a beautiful figure.
From her appearance, no one would associate her with an assassin. Larry nodded slightly.
"Valerian, contact the brothers immediately. We need to deal with something."
Larry needed to find Grim Reaper.
Now Free couldn't help him with more information. Without Grim Reaper, Larry was in the dark about many things.
