Chapter 71 A Lifetime of Legend
After obtaining the desired information, Larry and his group left.
Outside, Frank started the car and drove back to the city.
Larry leaned back in the passenger seat, deep in thought.
"Frank." After a long while, Larry's voice broke the silence.
"Mr. Bennett, go ahead."
"Look into who Lord Davis and Nine-Fingered are, and their backgrounds. Also, take me to the hospital; I need to see Roxanne again."
"Yes." Frank nodded.
Larry sighed deeply.
If he hadn't come to find Grim Reaper, he wouldn't have known that ten years ago, besides the Four Great Families, many others participated in the destruction of the Bennett family.
Now, he regretted it.
He regretted killing Frederick.
All of this was caused by Frederick.
If he were still alive, Larry could have gotten more information, even found out who the mastermind was. But at that time, he was consumed by rage and didn't think much, only wanting Frederick dead.
They remained silent throughout the journey.
They soon returned to the city.
"Mr. Bennett, do you need me to wait for you?" Frank asked.
Larry waved his hand slightly and said, "No need, it's late. You should go home and rest. I'll take a cab back later."
"Yes."
Larry got out of the car.
Frank turned around and left.
Sue hadn't spoken the entire way.
It wasn't until Larry left that Sue's tense nerves relaxed.
She said, "Frank, being with Mr. Bennett is too stressful. I didn't even dare to breathe."
Frank laughed. "Mr. Bennett isn't that scary. He's very good to his friends; it's only his enemies he deals with ruthlessly."
"Mr. Bennett's is too cold."
Hearing this, Frank was slightly taken aback, then sighed. "That's because you don't know what Mr. Bennett has been through."
Hearing this, Sue became interested and asked, "Frank, can you tell me about Mr. Bennett?"
Sue was once a member of a thief gang, mingling in Southwild for years. She had long heard of Black Dragon's name but didn't know much about him.
Frank's face showed a hint of pity as he said, "Mr. Bennett has borne too much. I remember the first time I met him, he was a silent young man. He trained late into the night every day, sleeping only a few hours, and spent the rest of his time training.
"He has been through life and death moments, once captured by the enemy, beaten to a pulp, with all his bones broken.
"His most formidable battle was over a year ago when our army was ambushed. He single-handedly stormed the enemy headquarters. That battle was a bloodbath, and in the end, Mr. Bennett returned covered in blood, carrying the enemy commander's skull.
"That battle made him famous in Southwild and shocked the world, establishing his reputation.
"After that battle, he was appointed as one of the Five Great Marshals, known as Black Dragon.
"Although he is one of the Five Great Marshals, his path was different. The other four marshals rose through the ranks based on their political achievements, but Mr. Bennett fought his way up, accumulating military merits, stepping over the corpses of his enemies, rising from a soldier to become one of the Five Great Marshals."
Frank sighed deeply.
Larry's ten-year military career was a legendary story.
If it were written into a book, it would take hundreds of thousands of words to cover his legendary life.
Hearing this, Sue was deeply shocked.
She hadn't expected so much to have happened to Larry.
"What about his medical skills?" Sue asked, "It's said that Mr. Bennett's medical skills are unparalleled, and his weapon, known as the Death Needle, is as deadly as a sniper rifle."
"I don't know about that." Frank shook his head.
Frank didn't know how Larry learned his medical skills
However, following Larry, Frank had also learned some medical skills.
Meanwhile, Larry entered the hospital again and went to Roxanne's ward.
Roxanne had her face slashed and her wrist cut off by Larry.
Her wrist had been reattached, but she hadn't been discharged and was still in the hospital.
Since learning the identity of the masked man, she had been in constant fear, spending her days in anxiety, on the verge of a mental breakdown.
In the dead of night, the sound of leather shoes hitting the floor echoed in the hospital corridor.
Larry arrived at Roxanne's ward and pushed the door open.
"Who is it?" Roxanne was already on the brink of collapse, plagued by nightmares these past few days.
Hearing the sound and sensing someone entering, she pulled the blanket over herself, curling up, her face filled with fear, staring warily at the door.
Larry turned on the light.
The dark ward became bright in an instant.
Seeing it was Larry, Roxanne trembled in fear, almost falling off the bed.
Larry walked over, pulled a chair, and sat by the bed, looking at the terrified Roxanne, who seemed to see a demon.
"Black Dragon," Roxanne spoke, her teeth chattering, her speech stuttering as if someone were choking her.
Larry said, "Don't be nervous. I'm not here to kill you. It's not time for that yet. I'm just here to ask you some questions."
"Please... go ahead."
Roxanne, as if seeing a ghost, trembled all over, clutching the blanket tightly, curling up, only her head exposed.
Larry asked, "Ten years ago, besides the Four Great Families, who else went to my Bennett family?"
"I... I don't know."
"What?" Larry's face darkened.
Larry's icy gaze sent a shiver down her spine..
"Don't you know?" Larry asked.
"I... I really don't know." Roxanne cried in fear.
At this moment, Roxanne had no semblance of a strong woman, like a frightened girl, crying, "I really don't know who else was outside. It was all arranged by Frederick."
"Did Frederick ever tell you who he gave the Artwork of Moonlit to after taking it to Aurora Citadel?"
"No, he never told me. Frederick never talked about these things with me. Oh, wait, after my dad died, Frederick returned overnight and then went to Aurora Citadel. When he came back, he found out that Chloe had saved someone from the Bennett family fire ten years ago. That's when he forced Chloe to tell him who she saved."
Getting no useful information, Larry felt anger rising.
He clenched his fist.
Roxanne sensed the killing intent. At that moment, she knew she was going to die.
However, she showed a look of relief.
Finally, she was going to die, finally free from the torment.
Roxanne closed her eyes, waiting for death to come.
However, Larry didn't make a move.
He unclenched his fist, stood up, and walked away.
He said, "Roxanne, the one-month deadline is approaching. Find out who has the Artwork of Moonlit as soon as possible. And don't even think about committing suicide. If you die, the entire Hall family will die with you."
Larry had already left, but Roxanne remained in fear.
After a long time, she seemed to go mad, slapping herself and cursing herself, "Roxanne, you're such an idiot. Why did you mess with the Bennett family? You deserve this. Frederick, you put the Hall family in extreme danger. Now that you're gone, what should we do!?"
Roxanne cried bitterly.
