Chapter 155 Specializing in Scamming Outsiders

Neon City was next to Sunset City, and there were many herbal medicine shops here.

Larry and Chloe strolled through downtown and soon arrived at the largest pharmacy in Neon City. The pharmacy was large and luxuriously decorated, with a woman dressed as a nurse standing at the entrance to greet customers.

The two walked in. Before they even entered the door, they could smell the scent of herbal medicine.

"Welcome." Callista Vale stepped forward to greet Larry and Chloe, smiling and asking, "What can I help you with?"

Chloe got straight to the point and said, "We'd like to buy some supplements."

"Sure, please follow me." Led by Callista the two arrived at a counter.

Callista took out several beautifully packaged boxes from the counter. She then opened the boxes that were filled with medicinal herbs, and they emitted a charming fragrance.

"These herbs are all very good," Callista said.

Although Chloe didn't know much about herbs, she knew that the more expensive the price, the higher the quality. "Do you have anything of higher quality?"

Hearing this, Callista's eyes lit up, and she couldn't help but ask, "What price range are you looking for?"

Chloe said, "The more expensive, the better."

"Please follow me." Callista realized she had encountered big buyers today and led Larry and Chloe to the second floor.

The second floor was even more lavishly decorated and boasted many more precious herbs There were also more people here than on the first floor.

Many nurses dressed in nurse uniforms were patiently introducing various precious herbs and their health benefits to customers.

After arriving on the second floor, some extremely valuable herbs were displayed in front of Larry and Chloe, with prices ranging from one thousand to ten thousand dollars.

Chloe couldn't tell their value, but these seemed too ordinary. She knew very well what kind of people the Martin family were, and such ordinary things wouldn't do at all.

Chloe asked, "Do you have anything more precious?"

Callista immediately nodded. "Yes, we do."

She quickly took out even more precious herbs and introduced them, "These are even more valuable."

Chloe still shook her head. "These are still too ordinary."

Hearing this, Callista was unhappy, and her smile turned sullen. "Are you two doing this on purpose?"

Callista glared coldly at them. She had thought she had encountered big buyers, and if she could sell some precious herbs, her sales would go up. But even after showing them so many herbs, the couple still hadn't bought anything.

Chloe said, "No, they really are too ordinary."

Although Chloe didn't understand herbs, she was from Sunset City, and the Lewis family was a family of medical professionals. Many people gave Victor herbal gifts, and she had seen quite a few. Regardless of the price, these were really very ordinary.

Callista scrutinized Chloe, who was quite pretty and had a good temperament, but Larry beside her was just ordinary. She thought to herself, 'Could they really be unimpressed?'

"Wait here." She left a sentence and turned to leave. Soon, she returned with a wooden box, placed it on the table, and opened it.

Inside were extremely precious herbs. Chloe's eyes lit up. These were acceptable. She looked at Larry and asked, "Honey, how about these?"

Larry glanced at the herbs and commented, "They're just average."

Hearing this, Chloe looked at the nurse in front of her and asked, "Do you have anything better?"

Callista glanced at Larry with disdain and said, "If you don't understand, don't talk nonsense. These herbs are extremely valuable."

Larry shook his head slightly, not bothering to reason with someone who didn't understand. He pulled Chloe up and said, "Let's go somewhere else."

"Okay." Chloe nodded.

"Stop right there," Callista shouted.

Larry stopped and turned to look at her.

Callista pointed to the herbs in the box on the table and said, "According to our store's rules, once a box is opened, you must buy it. All these boxes of herbs have been opened. Let me calculate the total."

She quickly calculated on her phone. "The total is six hundred thousand dollars."

Larry immediately laughed."When buying something, shouldn't you look at it first? Do you have to buy it just by looking at it? What kind of store is this?"

"You're right. Once you look, you have to buy." At this moment, Kellan Martinez walked over from a distance.

Kellan, about thirty years old, dressed in a black shirt with only two buttons fastened, a gold chain around his neck, and two burly bodyguards following him.

Many customers looked at Larry and Chloe with mocking expressions. They all knew there was going to be a good show today.

Kellan walked over, glanced at the opened herb boxes on the table, and smiled. "That's how it is here. These herbs are very precious. Once you look, you have to buy."

"Kellan," Callista called out. Then she stood in front of Kellan, looking up at Larry and Chloe with a arrogant expression.

Callista had long determined through their accent that Larry and Chloe were not from Neon City but from Sunset City. So, when she went to get the herbs, she had notified the pharmacy's manager, Kellan.

This store was owned by the Martinez family, which was a prominent family in Neon City, representing the Five-State Business Alliance, with immense power.

"Nonsense." Chloe looked at Kellan and said coldly, "Don't talk nonsense. I don't believe you can force me to buy anything."

Kellan laughed loudly. The surrounding customers also laughed, looking at Chloe as if they had heard a joke.

Kellan asked, "Tell me, is this store's rule that once you open it, you have to buy it?"

"Yes." Everyone nodded.

Hearing this, Chloe's expression turned sullen.

Larry also looked at Kellan and said calmly, "What if I don't buy?"

"What if you don't buy?" Kellan's face darkened, and he made a slight gesture to the two burly men behind him. They took a few steps forward, clenching their fists.

Chloe was scared and quickly pulled Larry, whispering, "Honey, it seems this store has a strong background. Let's buy everything. Consider it a lesson learned."

Larry pulled her and said, "It's okay, don't be afraid."

He took two steps forward, looked at the two burly men, and said calmly, "Beg me for mercy now, and I won't beat you too badly."

Kellan laughed out loud, as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world. "You're the first person to dare say that to me. Kick his ass."

"Okay," the bodyguards replied.

The surrounding customers all had a look of anticipation, as if they were watching a show. But this store didn't scam locals; if a local showed proof of identity when paying, they could get a significant discount.

This store specifically targeted outsiders. The Martinez family was too powerful, and those scammed outsiders didn't dare to oppose them.

The two burly bodyguards walked towards Larry. The bystanders had on mocking expressions as if they could see Larry being beaten to the ground and hear him beg for mercy.

Some even took out their phones, planning to record the scene and share it with friends.

But Larry remained calm. "Beg me now," he said.

One of the burly bodyguard raised his hand, and a huge palm swung towards Larry's face. The force was immense, and the wind whistled.

Larry gently raised his hand, blocking the slap. Then, he kicked out, hitting the bodyguard's chest.

It seemed like a simple kick, but it contained terrifying power, sending the bodyguard flying several feet, crashing into the counter with a scream.

The scene went very silent. All eyes were on Larry, their expressions filled with fear.
