Chapter 18 Terminating the Partnership
"Grandpa! Yes, I can go and find Grandpa!"
Suddenly, Chloe, who was crying, seemed to grasp a glimmer of hope. She pulled Larry and cried. "Grandpa loved me the most when I was little. He definitely won't kick me out of the family. Let's go beg him!"
She dragged Larry along.
Seeing her tearful face, Larry felt a pang of heartache and comforted her, "Don't worry. I'll take you to the Lewis Family right now to find him."
"Ok, let's go; let's go now."
Chloe had just come out of the torment inflicted by Frederick, and now being expelled from the Lewis Family had pushed her to the brink of collapse. Naively, she believed that going to the Lewis Family villa to find Victor would allow her to return to the family.
However, it was Victor who had expelled her from the family.
However, Larry had no choice; he needed to stabilize Chloe's emotions first and then figure out a solution.
He didn't want to shatter Chloe's hope, so he took her to the Lewis Family villa.
Soon, they arrived at the front of the Lewis Family villa. Chloe pressed the doorbell and anxiously paced back and forth at the entrance.
The door quickly opened.
It was Harry's son, Oscar, who opened the door.
As soon as he saw Chloe at the door, he immediately started cursing, "Chloe, you're not dead yet? Don't come back here."
Larry swung his hand and slapped Oscar.
While it wasn't appropriate for Larry to strike Chloe's mother due to respect for elders, he felt no such restraint with Oscar. He spun around and fell to the ground, feeling dizzy from the blow.
It took him several seconds to react. He got up from the ground, pointed at Larry, and cursed angrily, "Larry, how dare you hit me? I'll kill you."
Oscar clenched his fists and was about to fight Larry.
"What's going on?"
Victor, dressed in a suit and holding a cane, walked over and scolded, "How can you be so ill-mannered?"
Oscar looked aggrieved and complained, "Grandpa, he hit me."
Chloe immediately knelt on the ground, pleading, "Grandpa, please don't kick me out of the family."
Victor got angry at the sight of Chloe because the Lewis Family had almost been destroyed because of her.
He raised his cane to hit her.
However, in the end, he held back, pointed outside the door, and scolded, "Chloe, you have been expelled from the Lewis Family. You are no longer a member of us. Get out, and don't let me see you again."
Victor's words made Chloe stunned.
Chloe, with tears in her eyes, stood there in a daze.
Larry helped her up and led her away.
Chloe, lost and aimless, looked at Larry after leaving the Lewis Family villa. As she looked at him, she started crying in grievance.
She felt like she was the unluckiest woman in the world.
Larry held her and comforted, "Don't cry. If you want to return to the Lewis Family, let me figure it out. I promise you, before nightfall, the Lewis Family will be begging you to come back."
"I'm really so miserable." Chloe cried out in sorrow.
For ten years, she had endured ridicule and insults, but she had never cried.
All her grievances surged out at this moment.
Larry signaled to Frank, who was following from a distance. Frank immediately understood and went to get the car.
Larry helped Chloe into the car. Instead of returning to Imperial Residence, he went to Mortal Clinic on Dragon Street, which Frank managed. Chloe, exhausted from crying, fell asleep as soon as she lay down on the bed.
Larry then went outside, took out his phone, and called Leo.
"Leo, it's me."
"Mr. Bennett." Leo trembled with fear upon receiving Larry's call.
A few days ago, the news of Frederick's death had caused a huge stir. No one knew the identity of the masked man, but Leo knew that the masked man was Larry, the commander of Southwild, Black Dragon.
Larry asked, "How is the cooperation between Legion Lord and the Lewis Family's Everjoy Company going?"
"Mr. Bennett, the cooperation is going smoothly," Leo replied.
"Terminate the cooperation. Tell the Lewis Family that Legion Lord will only work with Chloe. Now that Chloe has been expelled from the Lewis Family, all cooperation with the Lewis Family will cease. As for the rumors about your relationship with Chloe, handle it yourself. I don't want external gossip to trouble Chloe."
"I see. I'll arrange it right away."
Leo took a deep breath.
After hanging up, he immediately made arrangements, issuing orders to those responsible for liaising with the Lewis Family to terminate all cooperation.
Meanwhile, at the Lewis Family, chaos was unfolding.
Harry, the current executive chairman of Everjoy Company, rushed in, shouting, "Dad, there's a bad news!"
Victor, a bit displeased, said, "Harry, you're in your fifties, yet you're still so reckless. With your behavior, the Lewis Family can never be entrusted to you, and we'll never truly enter high society."
"Dad, you are right, but the Legion Group has canceled their cooperation with our Everjoy Company. Legion Lord also said..."
Upon hearing this, Victor's body trembled, and he stood up abruptly. "What did you say?"
Harry, lacking confidence, lowered his head and said softly, "Legion Lord canceled the cooperation with Everjoy Company. Now there are dozens of trucks at the Everjoy Company factory, ready to take back the raw materials."
Victor's body instantly collapsed onto the sofa, sweat appearing on his aged face.
Cooperating with Legion Lord was the best opportunity for the Lewis Family to rise. Now Legion Lord had canceled the cooperation with Everjoy Company, it meant the Lewis Family had forever lost the chance to enter high society.
"What else did Legion Lord say? Speak up!" He was very angry.
Harry said, "Legion Lord Chairman Leo said he would only cooperate with Chloe."
"Then why are you still standing here? Go get Chloe back, quickly!" Victor, holding his cane, started hitting Harry, Oscar, and other members of the Lewis Family.
The Lewis Family members, in a panic, left to find Chloe and started calling her.
At the Mortal Clinic on Dragon Street, Chloe had already woken up. She sat on the bed, her head resting on her knees, hugging her legs, staring blankly.
Larry sat beside her, constantly trying to cheer her up with jokes, but she remained silent, not saying a word.
At this moment, her phone rang.
She didn't answer it.
Larry saw that it was Harry calling and immediately understood the situation, so he hung up.
Right now, it wasn't Chloe who was anxious, but the Lewis Family.
"Who was calling?"
Chloe turned to look at Larry, who had hung up. Her eyes were swollen and still filled with tears.
"It was Harry."
Chloe nodded.
At this moment, she seemed indifferent to everything.
"Chloe, do you really want to go back to the Lewis Family? They treated you so poorly; it's okay if you do not go back," Larry asked. Honestly, he didn't want Chloe to return to the Lewis Family.
"Can I really go back?" Chloe murmured softly, shaking her head and saying weakly, "I can't go back. I'm someone who brings misfortune to others. I've brought so much disaster to the Lewis Family. Grandpa has expelled me from the family, and even my mom doesn't want me."
At this moment, Chloe's phone rang again. Larry picked it up and handed it to her, asking, "Do you want to answer it?"
Chloe took the phone and answered it.
Harry's anxious voice came through the phone. "Chloe, where are you? Tell me quickly, I'll personally come to take you back to the family."
Chloe's body trembled, and a glimmer of light flashed in her desolate eyes. She hurriedly said, "I'm at the Mortal Clinic on Dragon Street."
She became excited, threw herself into Larry's arms, and cried with joy, "Larry, Harry is coming to get me. I can go home!"
