Chapter 382 Leaving the City to Search for a Karst Cave

Larry shook his head slightly, trying to push thoughts of Chloe aside.

He looked at Abigail and noticed the red handprint on her face. He stood up, gently touching her reddened cheek, and asked softly, "Does it hurt?"

Abigail, looking distressed, nodded and then threw herself into Larry's arms.

"I'm so scared of losing you. If you get better and go back to Chloe, what will happen to me?"

Larry held her gently and sighed, "I owe her. I'll never be able to repay her. She got hurt because of me. If I can find a way to fix this, how can I just abandon her?"

Abigail knew all of this.

It was because she knew that she was worried.

But for now, she was the one in Larry's arms, and that was enough for her.

She'd deal with the future when it came.

She believed she was no less than Chloe.

Larry coughed lightly a few times.

Abigail quickly helped him sit in his wheelchair, saying, "The wind is too strong outside. Let me take you back in."

Larry nodded.

Abigail pushed Larry back to the villa.

Not long after, Howard arrived with a group of skilled men at Abigail's villa.

Howard pointed to the group and said, "Larry, these guys are all top-notch. From now on, they follow your orders."

Larry looked at them and nodded, "Alright."

Howard continued, "From now on, Larry, if you need anything, just let me know. Whatever you need, I'll get it for you."

Larry covered his mouth, coughing up more blood.

Abigail quickly brought over tissues to help him.

Larry took them and said, "I can do it myself."

As he wiped the blood from his hands, he looked at Howard and said, "Prepare a few off-road vehicles, fill them up with gas, and get some tents, diving equipment, and dry food."

Howard couldn't help but ask, "Larry, what are you planning?"

Larry replied softly, "I'm going to find a place. Just get everything ready. We'll leave tomorrow morning."

"Got it."

Howard nodded and left with his men to prepare what Larry had asked for.

Larry stayed at Abigail's house the entire day.

The next day.

Several off-road vehicles appeared in front of Abigail's house.

Abigail helped Larry outside.

Howard approached and said, "Larry, everything is ready."

Larry nodded and said, "Let's go. Our destination is Dragon Mountain."

"Alright." Howard ordered, "Everyone, get in the cars. We're heading to Dragon Mountain."

Abigail helped Larry into the car.

Just then, a Porsche drove up.

Under many watchful eyes, a beautiful woman in a sexy dress got out of the car.

She had a bandage on her face.

But it didn't detract from her beauty and elegance; it gave her a unique charm.

She was Chloe.

She had thought about it all night.

She realized she still loved Larry.

She couldn't live without him.

So she came to find him today.

Larry was about to get in the car when he saw Chloe approaching. He frowned and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Chloe quickly walked over, holding his other hand, smiling brightly, "Why can't I be here? Are you going somewhere? Let me help you."

Abigail let go of Larry.

Larry held onto the car door, looking at Chloe with a hint of pleading, "Can you stop causing trouble? I have important things to do."

"Important things, huh?" Chloe glanced at Abigail and said calmly, "Why can she go, but I can't?"

Chloe's question left Larry speechless.

Abigail smiled and said, "If Chloe wants to go, let her come along."

Chloe snorted and ignored Abigail, helping Larry into the car.

"I can do it myself."

Larry shook off her hand and got in the car himself.

Chloe followed and sat next to him.

Abigail, not wanting to be outdone, walked to the other side, opened the door, and sat on Larry's other side.

Once everyone was in the cars, the convoy slowly set off.

Larry leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes to rest.

Chloe held his hand, looking intimate, and asked with a smile, "Honey, where are we going?"

Abigail, annoyed, said, "Can you be quiet? Larry needs to rest."

Chloe replied coldly, "I'm talking to my husband. What's it to you?"

Abigail was furious.

Larry opened his eyes slightly, looked at Chloe, and scolded, "Can you be quiet? You're really annoying right now. If you say one more word, get out of the car."

Hearing this, Chloe fell silent.

She held Larry's arm, resting her head on his shoulder.

At that moment, she realized how comforting Larry's shoulder was.

She wished it could stay like this forever.

The car sped forward.

Soon, they arrived at Dragon Mountain.

This area was at the border between Sunset City and Neon City.

Near Dragon Mountain.

The off-road vehicles stopped by the roadside, and everyone got out.

Larry also got out, standing by the road, looking at the 300-foot-wide river in the distance. He pointed to the riverbank and said, "Let's set up camp by the river."

Howard ordered, "What are you waiting for? Start setting up camp."

The accompanying men, all trained soldiers, quickly unloaded the gear from the cars and headed to the riverbank to set up camp.

By the river.

Larry sat on a rock.

Howard offered him a cigarette.

Larry waved it away, "I quit."

Howard lit one for himself, looking at the 300-foot-wide river ahead, and asked, "Larry, what are we looking for here?"

Larry replied softly, "We're looking for an underground cave. Howard, send some men to ask the locals if there are any caves around here."

"Got it."

Howard nodded.

He called over a few soldiers, "You guys, come here."

The soldiers jogged over.

Howard instructed, "Spread out and see if there are any locals nearby. Ask them if there are any underground caves around here."

"Yes, sir."

The soldiers quickly dispersed.

Meanwhile, in Aurora Citadel.

Alistair sat on a sofa, legs crossed.

A middle-aged man stood in front of him.

"What has Larry been up to since he got back to Sunset City?" Alistair asked calmly.

The middle-aged man replied, "Not much. This morning, he borrowed some men from Free and drove to the outskirts. It seems he's looking for something."

"Borrowed men from Free?" Alistair frowned and then ordered, "Find out what Larry is looking for."

"Yes, I'll send someone to keep an eye on Larry."

Alistair waved him off, "Alright, go."

"Yes."

The subordinate turned and left.

Alistair rubbed his forehead.

"Larry, Larry, you really make me uneasy. Even if you're crippled, I can't rest easy until you're dead. This isn't my fault."

Alistair saw Larry as a threat.

He couldn't rest easy without eliminating Larry.

He picked up the phone and dialed a number, "Take some men and get rid of Larry. Make it clean, leave no traces."
