Chapter 474 Cody Arrives
The moment Richard spoke, Larry knew it was his grandfather.
The grandfather who had loved him dearly since he was a child.
Larry collapsed to the ground, staring at the lava ahead, and cried out in agony.
Scenes from his childhood flashed through his mind.
He remembered sitting on Richard's knee as a child, learning to read and being taught basic medical knowledge.
Ten years ago, during the Bennett family fire, he was powerless.

Larry turned to look.
An elderly man appeared. "Grandpa."
Paisley smiled with relief and called out, "You finally made it."
This man was Cody.
Paisley had informed Cody about the situation before she boarded the plane.
Cody, worried about potential trouble, had rushed over as well.
Seeing Cody arrive, the man in the black robe flicked his fingers, releasing a force that snapped the rope holding Chloe, and then quickly fled.
Chloe's body plummeted, about to be swallowed by the lava.
Seeing this, Larry felt weak, his mouth agape, unable to make a sound.
Cody, however, swiftly flew over, diving down to grab Chloe, then pushed off the cliff wall to propel them back to safety, landing steadily on the ground.
Larry snapped out of it and shouted, "Chloe!"
He handed Chloe over to Larry.
Larry took her and held her tightly.
"Stay still."
Cody instructed, then leaped nearly a hundred feet, appearing on the opposite cliff, and quickly chased after the man in the black robe.
Larry held Chloe, checking her pulse.
Chloe's pulse was weak, but she wasn't in immediate danger, allowing Larry to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Chloe."
He gently shook her.
Chloe groggily opened her eyes, seeing a familiar yet strangely distant face.
"Larry..."
She spoke softly, then suddenly reacted, shouting, "Where's Richard?"
"Grandpa, he..." Larry choked up, unable to speak.
"What happened to Richard?" Chloe asked anxiously.
"Chloe, did you know Richard was still alive?" Paisley questioned from the side.
Chloe stood up, looked at Paisley, and nodded, "Yes, I knew."
Larry looked at Chloe and asked, "What's going on?"
Chloe fell into a moment of recollection before saying, "After the incident with Trinity, when you went to Aurora Citadel, Richard found me. He said you were in danger but couldn't show himself, so he asked me to step in."
Paisley stared at Chloe and asked, "So it was you who helped Larry kill Alistair in Aurora Citadel, pretended to be me to get Larry out of the Powell family, and left him at the Bennett Mansion's doorstep. And the Cabinet Room was indeed created by Richard."
"Yes."
Chloe didn't deny it, "The Cabinet Room was indeed created by Richard."
"Why did he take Trinity and Abigail?" Larry demanded.
Chloe sighed, "Richard said you had a lot of enemies, and it wasn't safe for them to be around you. To keep you focused, he took them away to protect them."
Larry pressed on, "How did you and Grandpa end up here?"
Chloe explained, "Richard said that to cultivate the Artwork of Moonlit, you need pure Yang energy. He brought me here to find it, but we got ambushed and captured."
"What?" Paisley exclaimed, "Richard knows the secret of the Artwork of Moonlit?"
Just then, Cody returned.
Chloe instinctively fell silent.
Paisley looked at Cody and asked, "Grandpa, how did it go?"
Cody shook his head, "I couldn't catch him. He's strong. You all stay here; I'm going to check the bottom."
Cody had seen Richard fall from a distance but couldn't intervene in time.
He didn't believe Richard was gone; he needed to check for himself.
He walked to the edge of the cliff, glanced down, and then, like a gecko, quickly climbed down to the bottom.
Larry looked at Chloe.
Chloe continued, "Richard had already deciphered the secret of the Artwork of Moonlit. He came here to find the Fire Lotus to help you. He's been secretly helping you all this time."
Paisley was now confused.
She couldn't figure out what kind of person Richard was.
Based on previous assumptions, Richard was causing trouble.
But now it seemed Richard was only protecting Larry from the shadows, helping him without doing anything else.
Larry demanded, "Where are Abigail and Trinity now?"
Chloe hesitated for a moment before saying, "I don't know. Richard didn't tell me. He only said they were in a very safe place."
In truth, she knew.
Abigail and Trinity were indeed safe.
She didn't want them to return so soon, didn't want them to get close to Larry again, and didn't want Larry to go looking for them now.
Larry took a deep breath.
He hadn't expected things to be this way.
He hadn't expected the person secretly helping him to be Richard, who should have died ten years ago.
But he still had many things he hadn't said to Richard before he fell.
The truth about the Bennett family feud thirty years ago, he might never know.
"What else do you know?" Larry looked at Chloe, noticing she seemed unaffected by the high temperature here, and frowned, "The temperature here is so high, even I feel the heat, but you don't seem affected."
