Chapter 408 It's Time to Strike Back
                    Larry was filled with regret.
That morning, when Alden handed him the stolen research data, he knew Alistair would take action. He had already warned Trinity.
But he hadn't expected Alistair to move so quickly.
In less than a day, Alistair had already made a move against Trinity.
If he hadn't sent Trinity to gather intelligence, she wouldn't be in trouble now.
He sat on the couch, silent.
Chloe walked over, noticing Larry's troubled expression. She sat beside him, holding his hand, and asked, "Hey, what's going on? You look really upset."
"Nothing," Larry shook his head slightly.
He didn't plan to tell Chloe about any of this.
Meanwhile, at a nearby military base.
The military had taken over Trinity's kidnapping case, obtaining all the information from the police and starting their investigation.
They reviewed the city's surveillance footage and tracked the black sedan that had taken Trinity out of the city.
Once outside the city, the car disappeared from surveillance, and the military lost its trail.
But the military had far more resources than the police.
Summer Nation was the world's leading superpower, with a formidable military presence. The skies over Summer Nation were filled with satellites, closely monitoring every movement.
Free used his special privileges to activate satellite surveillance.
He retrieved the satellite footage from Sunset City that night and discovered the black sedan's destination.
Free called Larry personally.
Larry had been anxiously waiting for Free's call.
His phone rang, and he answered it hastily, unable to hide his anxiety. "What's the situation?"
Free's voice came through the phone, "Larry, we've tracked the black sedan that took Trinity to a mountain at the border between Sunset City and Neon City. However, the car disappeared near a military base, which has blocked satellite surveillance."
Larry was stunned for a moment.
Then he asked, "Is there a heavily guarded research facility in that mountain?"
"Yes," Free replied. "This morning, you asked Trinity to come over and have me investigate the research facilities. This is one of them."
"Free, send troops immediately. Surround that research facility and rescue her."
"I'll try, but I can't guarantee success," Free said. "It's a military base, not under my jurisdiction. If they produce special authorization documents, I can't just storm in."
"Alright, you try. I'll think of something else." Larry hung up the phone, his face grim.
Chloe had been by his side the whole time.
Larry had taken the call and said some strange things.
She couldn't help but ask, "Honey, what are you talking about? Are you hiding something from me?"
"Nothing. It's getting late. You should go to bed."
"What about you?"
"I have some things to take care of. You go rest," Larry urged Chloe.
Chloe knew Larry was hiding something, but since he didn't want to talk about it, she didn't press him.
She got up and went upstairs to their bedroom.
Larry sat on the couch, lit a cigarette, and fell into deep thought.
After a while, he took out his phone and called Alden.
The call connected quickly, and Alden's voice came through, "Larry, what's up?"
"Have you left yet?" Larry asked.
"Not yet. I don't have any ID, so I can't leave openly. Customs checks are super strict right now. I'm still looking for a way out," Alden replied.
"Get the Eight Heavenly Dragons to Sunset City ASAP," Larry ordered.
Alden was taken aback. "What's going on? What happened?"
"Trinity's been captured. She's probably in that research facility Alistair set up. The military's involved now. If they can't get her back, we'll storm the place, rescue her, and destroy the facility," Larry said, his face dark and menacing.
For a long time, Alistair had been opposing him, targeting him from the shadows.
But now, Alistair had gone too far, first targeting Chloe and now Trinity.
Trinity was a kind-hearted girl. Larry already felt guilty towards her. If anything happened to her, he would live in regret for the rest of his life.
It was time to show Alistair his strength.
"Alright, we'll be there in three hours," Alden said before hanging up.
Larry tossed his phone aside and leaned back on the couch, running a hand over his face.
Meanwhile, at the military base.
Free had mobilized troops.
Over a hundred helicopters were dispatched to the mountain at the border.
This was a research base.
Outside the base, heavily armed soldiers stood guard.
Inside the base, in an office.
A scar-faced man looked at the documents his subordinates had brought back, frowning. He looked at one of his men and asked, "Did you really find this on the girl from Larry's side?"
A man in his thirties, Lucian, stood in the office. He was Scarface's subordinate.
Lucian nodded. "Boss, it's true. We also captured her. She's locked in the basement now."
Scarface frowned. "That's strange. You said you followed her all day, and she only went to Pillar Pharmacy. Where did she get this information?"
"I don't know," Lucian replied.
"Alright, you can go," Scarface waved him off.
"Yes, sir," Lucian said, turning to leave.
After he left, Scarface immediately took out his phone and called Alistair.
The call connected quickly.
"Boss, there's a problem," Scarface said.
Alistair's cold voice came through the phone, "What now?"
Scarface quickly explained, "Today, my men captured the girl from Larry's side, Trinity. We found detailed information her about our research facilities in the country. I don't know if it's all accurate, but the locations I know are correct, including this base."
Alistair was shocked and asked, "Really?"
"Absolutely," Scarface confirmed.
"How many research facility addresses are on the list?" Alistair asked.
Scarface looked at the document. "Eighteen."
Alistair's face darkened.
He hadn't expected Larry to know so much and to be investigating him. Now, Larry even knew the number of his research facilities.
"What should we do now?" Scarface asked.
Alistair thought for a moment and then said, "Don't harm the girl yet. I'll come over tonight and interrogate her myself. We'll use her to lure Larry. It's time to finish him off."
Alistair's face was filled with hatred.
Because of Alfonso's moment of mercy, they were in this situation.
Today, Larry had to die.
As long as Larry lived, Alistair wouldn't be at peace.
He was ready to kill.
