Chapter 201 The Black Dragon Army Mobilizes

Soren wasn't scared of dying. But the other countries' generals? Oh, they were shaking in their boots.

When Larry laid into them, they spilled everything without a second thought.

"Black Dragon, it was Leif who tipped us off. We sent our top dogs from all over to take you down. Once the big guns fall, a hundred thousand troops are ready to roll in."

"Yeah, it was Leif who got in touch."

"Leif said he was gonna use Frank to mess with you. He needed backup, so we sent in the cavalry."

Everyone was talking at once.

Larry's fists were clenched tight. Frank's fate was hanging by a thread because of these clowns. He felt a murderous rage boiling up.

The room's temperature seemed to plummet. The generals on the floor, scared out of their minds, felt like they were being hunted by a wild beast.

Larry took a deep breath, trying to unclench his fists. He didn't kill them. Even if he did, getting out of there alive was a long shot.

"Calling command, calling command, we've lost track of Black Dragon, what's the next move?"

"Black Dragon's not in Zone C."

Messages were flooding into the command center.

Larry grabbed a general and barked, "Tell the army to head to Zone D."

The general didn't dare to argue.

"This is the command center. We just got word that Black Dragon's slipped into Zone D. Move out and support."

After the general relayed the order, Larry cut the comms. The outside world was now in the dark about the command center. All he had to do was wait for dawn. But Frank's life was still up in the air, and Larry was worried sick.

He tied everyone up and bolted, heading for the cave where Frank was stashed.

It wasn't far, and with his speed, he zipped through the forest. In half an hour, he found Frank, slung him over his back, and hustled back to the mountaintop. Dawn was breaking.

After checking Frank's condition, Larry used silver needles to keep his organs ticking.

Southwild, military district.

Idris hadn't caught a wink of sleep. Since Larry left, he'd been on edge.

In his office, Idris kept glancing at the clock. It was already 6 AM, and the first light of dawn was peeking through. Larry still hadn't come back.

He stood up and barked orders: "All troops, listen up."

"Air combat regiment, get ready."

"Special ops brigade, get ready."

"Infantry battalion, get ready."

"Missile regiment, get ready."

With Idris's command, lights flickered on across the military district, and the heads of each regiment got their orders.

Idris checked the time and commanded, "All troops, stand by. At 7 AM, we roll out. Destination: Cedar Grove. We're leveling it."

As the order echoed, the sound of combat prep filled the air. Soldiers geared up. Fighter jets assembled. Armored vehicles, tanks, and missile trucks were ready to go. Thousands of Black Dragon Army soldiers piled into military trucks.

After Idris gave the order, generals from all over showed up in his office.

"Idris, what's the deal?"

"Why the sudden deployment?"

"Are we under attack?"

"Idris, the commander's resigned. Did you get the green light from above?"

Idris replied, "The commander's resigned, but he showed up in Southwild yesterday. He left for Cedar Grove. Before he left, he said if he didn't come back by dawn, we should flatten Cedar Grove."

"What, the commander was here?"

"When did this happen?"

"Why didn't I know?"

Idris didn't bother explaining.

He stood by the window, waiting. The sun slowly rose, lighting up the dark world. Idris checked the time. It was 7 AM.

Holding a walkie-talkie, he barked, "All troops, move out!"

The loudspeakers across the military district blared the command. The words echoed everywhere.

The air force was the first to roll out, with thousands of fighter jets taking off.

Next, a badass convoy of tanks, armored vehicles, and military trucks rumbled out, heading straight for Cedar Grove.

Meanwhile, up on the mountaintop. Larry stood outside the cabin. Dawn had broken, and if everything went as planned, Idris had already deployed the troops.

He stepped into the cabin, shot a cold glance at the generals from various countries, and declared, "Cedar Grove is where the hundred thousand troops of the twenty-eight allied nations will meet their end."

Just as Larry finished speaking, explosions rocked the outside.

Loud as an earthquake, the blasts shook the ground and mountains. The generals' faces went pale.

"Has the Black Dragon Army left the base?"

"Black Dragon, are you trying to start a war? The Summer Nation has an agreement with other countries not to deploy troops to Cedar Grove lightly."

"Black Dragon, when it's over, just wait for the retaliation from the twenty-eight countries."

The generals were freaking out.

Larry sat in a chair, his expression icy, "We don't leave the base easily, but that's only if others don't mess with us. I may have resigned, but Frank hasn't."

Larry pointed to the unconscious Frank lying on the bed.

"You twenty-eight countries have some nerve kidnapping a general of Southwild. Now, you face the wrath of the Black Dragon Army."

As he spoke, he removed the silver needles from their bodies, and they regained their mobility.

"Get in touch with your top brass immediately. If you want to live, pay up: $1 million per prisoner, $100 million per general   according to international practice. "

Larry looked at the generals. "You gotta be ready to face the music if you choose to dance."

Outside, the sound of gunfire and cannons roared.

The Black Dragon Army had left the base, and the allied forces of the twenty-eight countries in Cedar Grove were scared out of their minds. Facing the legendary Black Dragon Army, they had no fight left in them and surrendered.

Even with their surrender, bombers appeared overhead and dropped a rain of bombs, causing massive casualties among the hundred thousand troops of the twenty-eight countries.

The survivors were all captured.

Larry connected to the command center, calling Idris with the landline phone.

"I'm on the mountaintop."

After hanging up, he waited. Soon, several fighter jets descended from the sky and landed smoothly on the mountaintop.

"Black Dragon Army Commander, Idris reporting in. Please punish me, Commander."

Idris was the first to get off the helicopter, kneeling on one knee. Others followed, kneeling on the ground.

"We are late."

Their voices were loud and clear. Larry, holding the severely injured and unconscious Frank, walked out step by step under many watchful eyes.

On the mountaintop, the ground was littered with corpses. Larry stepped over the bodies and came to Idris, instructing,

"Take me back to Southwild Military District Hospital. I need to treat Frank. There are generals from twenty-eight countries in the cabin. Capture them all and take them back to Southwild. As per international protocol, demand ransom from their respective countries."

"Also, take the defeated prisoners back to Southwild."

Larry said, holding Frank as he boarded the helicopter. The helicopter rose slowly into the sky and quickly left.

Only after Larry left did Idris stand up. Looking at the mountaintop filled with corpses, he felt a chill.

What kind of brutal battle had gone down here yesterday to leave so many dead?
