Chapter 466 Heading to Discovery Antiques
                    Larry's suspicions weren't baseless.
Sue was part of a tomb-raiding crew.
But she claimed she didn't know the mastermind, saying it was always the others in the team who made contact.
Moreover, Sue had some skills but wasn't particularly strong. How could she have snatched the key from the enemy, escaped, found Kairo, and followed him to Sunset City?
It just didn't add up.
Paisley noticed Larry mumbling softly and asked, "Larry, what's on your mind?"
Larry looked at Paisley and said, "Paisley, help me figure this out." He recounted the story of Sue and her team raiding Victor Veil's Tomb, Sue fighting the enemy for the box, getting the key, and then following Kairo to Sunset City.
"Do you think there's someone behind Alistair besides Mr. Strother? Or maybe Mr. Strother is just a front for someone else?"
Paisley fell into deep thought.
After a while, she said, "The person who raided Victor Veil's Tomb probably isn't from the Four Ancient Families. Based on my and my grandfather's analysis, it's likely Richard, but only if Richard is still alive."
"If Richard is the one who orchestrated the raid, your theory makes sense. Alistair might not only be following Mr. Strother's orders. Maybe Mr. Strother is also taking orders from someone else, possibly Richard."
"Maybe everything that happened in the tomb was just a play directed by Richard."
"Sue might not know this. She might have survived because Richard wanted her to, to draw you into this mess."
Larry questioned, "What would he gain from dragging me into this?"
Paisley shook her head. "I don't know. These are just theories based on the clues we have. The truth could be anything. Maybe Richard is dead, and someone is impersonating him. Until we uncover the truth, anything is possible."
"Do you think Sue is trustworthy?"
Larry was usually good at reading people.
But now, even he was unsure.
Paisley thought for a moment. "Given the current situation, she seems trustworthy. The Artwork of Moonlit is involved, a famous painting worth a fortune. Everyone wants it. Sue might have joined you to save her life."
Hearing this, Larry didn't ask further.
He leaned back on the sofa to rest.
Sue arrived quickly, showing up at Esmeralda's house in less than an hour.
Today, Sue didn't have the same aura she had at the Epoch Group. She wore casual clothes, her long brown hair tied up, looking lively.
"Larry."
Larry pointed to the sofa beside him. "Have a seat."
Sue sat down and looked at Larry. "Larry, what do you need?"
Larry said, "I had Abigail set up a company called PaxGen Pharmaceuticals. But now Abigail is missing, and I can't find a manager. You did well at the Epoch Group, so I hope you can help manage it for now."
Sue had been in Sunset City.
She knew what Abigail was up to and wanted to help, but Larry hadn't asked her, and she didn't volunteer.
She stood up, her face determined and confident. "I'll do my best to manage PaxGen Pharmaceuticals for you, Larry."
Larry waved his hand slightly. "Sit down."
"Sure."
Sue sat down.
"By the way, do you know Richard?" Larry asked casually.
"Richard?" Sue looked confused. "Who?"
"If you don't know, never mind," Larry said, testing her. Her immediate reaction suggested she didn't know him. If she had, her response would have been different.
"Do you know the purpose of PaxGen Pharmaceuticals?" Larry asked again.
Sue nodded. "I heard a bit from Abigail, but I don't know the details."
Larry didn't hold back and explained the purpose of PaxGen Pharmaceuticals to Sue.
"It's mainly to keep an eye on VitaGen Medical, compete with them, and take over the pharmaceutical market in Summer Nation."
"Got it."
Sue nodded.
"Go report to the company first," Larry said, signaling Sue to leave. Without a manager, PaxGen Pharmaceuticals would soon fall into chaos.
Sue didn't linger. She greeted Larry and left.
After Sue left, Larry stood up.
Paisley asked, "Are we heading to Discovery Antiques?"
Larry glanced at Paisley.
She was sharp. As soon as he stood up, she guessed his intention.
"I'm more and more impressed by you," Larry said sincerely. "It seems like nothing can be hidden from you."
Paisley stood up and smiled. "Discovery Antiques is the only lead. It wasn't hard to figure out."
Larry nodded. "I plan to check it out. The box with the ancient scroll was stored at Discovery Antiques, and the owner is Alistair's subordinate. Now that Alistair is dead, we need to go there ourselves to uncover the mysteries."
"I'll go with you."
"Alright."
Yorick approached and asked, "Need me to drive you?"
Larry waved his hand. "No need. Just give me the car keys. We'll go ourselves."
"Larry, can I come with you?" Esmeralda stood up, looking at Larry with a pleading expression.
She had been recovering at home for a while.
She hadn't been out in a long time.
Now that she felt a bit better, she wanted to go out and get some fresh air.
Larry refused. "I'm not going for a stroll. I'm handling business. You're still weak. Stay home and rest."
Esmeralda reluctantly agreed.
Larry took the car keys from Yorick.
He headed out, got in the car, and drove to the antique market in Sunset City.
Soon, they arrived at Timeless Treasures Antiques.
As soon as they entered, someone greeted them.
It was the same elderly man who had greeted Larry last time.
"Mr. Bennett, back again?"
Larry asked, "Is your boss here?"
"Yes, he's upstairs in the office."
Larry said, "I need to ask him something."
Larry headed straight upstairs.
Upstairs, the office door was closed. Larry knocked lightly.
There was no response.
He knocked again.
Still no response.
Paisley said, "Maybe no one's there?"
Larry forcefully pushed the door open.
Inside, they found a middle-aged man in a black leather jacket slumped over the desk. Larry walked closer and saw a large pool of blood on the floor. The man had been shot in the back of the head and was clearly dead.
"We're too late."
Larry looked at the scene and the nearly dried blood. "Looks like he's been dead for several hours."
Paisley surveyed the office, raising an eyebrow. "Could it be that he knew some secrets and was killed to silence him?"
