Chapter 391 Medical Classic Volume II

After visiting the fallen soldiers, Larry made his way back to the hospital.

These men had laid down their lives for him, and he was overwhelmed with guilt and a sense of duty.

He knew he had to honor their sacrifice by living well and continuing their mission.

To protect his country with everything he had.

In the hospital room, Larry pulled out a box he'd discovered in an underground cave.

The box was black, etched with mysterious designs.

It was sealed tight, no keyhole, but if you looked closely, you'd see a bunch of tiny pinholes.

Larry had noticed them before, but the chaos in the cave hadn't given him a chance to figure it out.

Free eyed the black box on the table and asked, "What's this thing that was worth all the trouble you went through to find it?"

Larry shrugged. "I don't know yet. We'll have to open it to find out."

Free said, "While you were out cold, I checked it out. It's impossible to open."

A piece of wire slipped from Larry's sleeve.

He held it, and it instantly split into fine needles.

Larry casually picked one up and gently inserted it into a pinhole on the box.

It fit perfectly, sliding in.

Larry continued inserting the other needles into the remaining pinholes.

There were exactly 108 pinholes, perfectly matching the Against Heaven 81 Needles.

When Larry inserted the last needle, the box popped open.

Inside was a thick book.

Free and Abigail couldn't help but stare at the contents of the box.

It was an old, yellowed book with a few words on the cover.

The words were ancient, unreadable unless you'd studied old scripts.

Luckily, Larry had.

"Medical Canon, Volume Two."

Seeing the words on the cover, Larry's heart skipped a beat.

"Volume Two of the Medical Canon?"

His voice trembled.

Years ago, he'd gotten his hands on the Medical Canon.

It had a bunch of lost medical techniques.

But the heart of the book wasn't those techniques; it was all about the body's self-healing powers.

All medical techniques serve the body's self-repair.

He hadn't expected there to be a second volume.

He picked it up and opened to the first page.

The page was packed with dense ancient script, and Larry read it carefully.

Though he'd learned this script as a kid, the sheer volume made it tough to read, let alone understand.

Free glanced at it, realized he couldn't make sense of the script, and sat back, waiting for Larry to finish.

Abigail was curious.

Was this the method for cultivating Qi?

After reading a page, Larry took a deep breath.

Abigail couldn't help but ask, "So, Larry, is it what you were looking for?"

Larry shook his head slightly. "No."

Abigail stood up, shocked. "After all that effort and so many deaths, it's not what you were looking for?"

At that moment, Larry smiled.

A long-lost smile appeared on his pale face.

"It's better than I imagined."

Abigail was stunned again.

Free said, "Larry, quit keeping us in suspense. What is it?"

Larry took a deep breath and said slowly, "Ten years ago, by chance, I stumbled into that cave and found a medical book. I learned a ton of medical techniques and got these 81 silver needles."

Larry closed the box on the table.

As it closed, the inserted needles popped out instantly.

Larry picked one up.

As he did, the other needles flew out, connecting together to form a thin wire.

Larry explained, "These are the Against Heaven 81 Needles. I never knew their true purpose. I only used them as weapons, but I've been underestimating them all along."

"Huh?" Both Free and Abigail looked at Larry, puzzled.

Larry continued, "The medical techniques I learned ten years ago were from the first volume, and this book in the box is the second volume. It details how to use the Against Heaven 81 Needles."

The second volume of the Medical Canon was mind-blowing. It not only described how to cultivate Qi and use it, but also explained how to utilize the Against Heaven 81 Needles. If I could compare it, the medical techniques I learned ten years ago were like the 26 letters of the alphabet. And now, this medical book is like forming those letters into different words and sentences.

Abigail's face lit up with joy. "So, does this mean you can be saved?"

"Yeah." Larry nodded slowly. "With the second volume of the Medical Canon, I can cultivate Qi as described. Once I cultivate Qi, the Gu inside me will naturally be expelled."

"That's awesome!" Abigail was thrilled.

"I can't believe you've already touched the threshold of Qi," Free said, looking at Larry in amazement. Larry's strength was beyond his imagination.

"Huh?" Larry glanced at him and asked, "What, Free, do you also know about the existence of Martial practices grandmasters?"

"Yeah." Free nodded. "I've heard of them. Since you're okay, I'll get back to work." Free didn't say much more and left.

Larry watched Free leave, frowning slightly. He had only recently learned about Martial practices grandmasters and hadn't expected Free to know, and seemingly know quite a bit. Larry didn't dwell on it.

Abigail asked, "Larry, are you hungry?"

"Yeah." Larry nodded lightly. "A little."

"I'll go to the cafeteria and get you some food." Abigail left after speaking.

Larry lay on the hospital bed, flipping through the second volume of the Medical Canon. The first chapter detailed Qi and the cultivation and use of Qi.

What is Qi? Qi is the essence of a person. The book stated that everyone has Qi within them. The stronger the body, the stronger the Qi. The stronger the Qi, the better the body's self-repair ability. When Qi reaches a certain level, it can be gathered and condensed to unleash tremendous power. This is Qi.

"Calm the mind, focus, perceive."

"From the feet to the head, concentrate the mind."

Larry read the descriptions of Qi in the second volume, absorbing the insights. The words were profound but not hard to grasp. Larry followed the instructions. His mind gradually calmed, his brain relaxed and cleared. He began to sense his body. From his feet slowly upward, to his brain. Gradually, he felt the flow of his blood, sensing a faint Qi within it, though weak, he could feel it.

"Larry…" A voice called out.

Larry was startled awake. His perception of Qi vanished instantly.

"Time to eat." Larry looked at Abigail approaching with a tray of food. He set the medical book aside. After a brief meditation, he felt much more refreshed.

"You look better," Abigail said, placing the food on the table, noticing a hint of color returning to Larry's pale face.

"Yeah." Larry nodded lightly. "The medical book is amazing. It describes a meditation method that quickly dispels fatigue, accelerates blood flow, and speeds up healing."

"I don't get it." Abigail shook her head. What Larry was saying was too complex.
