Chapter 134 I Called the Police

When the cops showed up to arrest them, Harry and Oscar freaked out.

Victor walked over to Xavier. As the family head, he knew Xavier well. "Xavier, you must be mistaken. How could Harry and Oscar be involved in commercial crimes? What did they do?"

Xavier glanced at Larry.

Larry stepped up and said, "I called the police."

Everyone in the Lewis Family turned to Larry in shock.

"You?" Oscar yelled, "Larry, you freeloader, always living off the family's money, and now you call the cops on me? Why? What have I done?"

Harry added coldly, "You better explain yourself, or this won't end well for you."

Chloe, who had been watching in shock, grabbed Larry's arm and demanded, "Larry, what is going on? Why did you do this?"

The Lewis Family glared at Larry, shocked he had called the police.

Larry looked at everyone and calmly said, "I believe Chloe wouldn't disgrace the family. The fake medicine incident was clearly a setup. I didn't know who did it, so I called the police. They arrested Benjamin, and he confessed everything."

Larry looked at Harry and Oscar. "I never imagined it would be you two."

Oscar stumbled back and collapsed on the sofa. Harry's face went pale.

Victor turned to Xavier. "Xavier, this must be a mistake. This is a family issue, not a crime, right?"

Xavier replied coldly, "Someone called the police, so we have to investigate. Benjamin confessed. First, Oscar paid him ten thousand dollars to transport expired fake medicine to Everjoy Clinic. Then Harry paid him two hundred thousand dollars to frame Chloe. If you have anything to say, say it at the station. Take them away."

Cops came over and handcuffed Harry and Oscar.

Harry stayed silent, but Oscar shouted, "Grandpa, save me! I don't want to go to jail!"

Under the family's watchful eyes, Harry and Oscar were taken away.

After the police left, Sam quietly gave Larry a thumbs up.

Victor, furious, slammed his cane on the table and roared, "Larry, look at what you did! This is a family matter. Even if they did wrong, you should've told me. There was no need to call the police. Do you know what this means?"

Victor's sudden outburst of anger sent a wave of fear through the room. The entire Lewis Family exchanged anxious glances, too scared to speak.

Larry calmly replied, "Telling you would have been useless. I tracked down Benjamin, but he kept slandering Chloe. None of you believed her. Without the police, we couldn't prove her innocence. I never suspected Harry and Oscar, so I called the police to uncover the truth. If you want to blame someone, blame Harry and Oscar for framing Chloe."

Victor was livid.

Larry continued, "Also, Chloe is no longer the chairman of Everjoy Company. She's now the chairman of Everlasting Group, holding 90% of the shares. This afternoon, she took out a loan to acquire Thomas's Everlasting Group."

Hearing this, Victor was so angry he spat out blood and fainted.

The family panicked and surrounded Victor.

"Larry, what are you doing?" Chloe scolded, "This is a family matter. You shouldn't have called the police. You should've discussed it with me."

After scolding him, Chloe rushed to Victor. He fainted from anger but soon regained consciousness.

Victor, gasping for breath, said, "Fine, Chloe, you've become quite capable, disregarding family rules and taking matters into your own hands. Since that's the case, I have nothing more to say. Leave, just leave. From now on, the Lewis Family no longer acknowledges Chloe."

"Grandpa," Chloe said, looking troubled, "Even though I acquired Everlasting Group and I'm no longer the chairman of Everjoy Company, the big corporations' orders won't be canceled. Everjoy will still get those orders."

"Forget it," Victor waved his hand dismissively.

"You can't just ignore this," Lily cried out. "Harry and Oscar have been taken by the police. Even if they did something wrong, this is a family matter. Why call the police?"

"A family matter?" Larry said coldly. "Framing Chloe is a family matter? Luckily, nothing major happened this time. If people had died, would you still call it a family matter?"

"You..." Lily pointed at Larry, her face twisted in anger. "You worthless fool, this is the Lewis Family's business. You have no right to interfere."

"Yeah, this is too much."

"You can't just call the police."

"These things could've been explained quietly. It's not a big deal. But now the police have come to arrest our family members, and if word gets out, the Lewis Family's reputation will be ruined."

"Damn it, Larry."

The Lewis Family members all blamed Chloe and Larry.

Even Sam, who had been somewhat relieved by the unfolding events, thought Larry had gone too far. Involving the police had turned a private family dispute into a public spectacle.

Chloe pulled Larry aside and whispered, "Larry, let's drop the case. If this gets out, it won't be good for the Lewis Family. Besides, I'm fine. Let's just end it here."

Larry, wanting to help Chloe, felt a bit touched. But after all, the ones arrested were Chloe's relatives.

Larry said, "The authorities are already investigating. Dropping the case won't help. If it's found that Harry and Oscar are innocent, they'll be back soon. If they're guilty, they must face legal consequences."

Larry didn't want to let Harry and Oscar off the hook so easily. If he did, they would only come after Chloe even more aggressively next time.

"Go away. I don't want to see you," Victor pointed to the door.

Maria, ever quick-witted, glanced at Sam and Scott. "Don't just stand there—grab the gifts and take them to our place."

"Okay," Sam and Scott, understanding her cue, hurried over to start collecting the lavish gifts that had been meant for Chloe.

Maria looked at Larry and scolded, "Larry, don't just stand there, go help."

Larry nodded, silently closing one of the larger boxes. He hoisted it onto his shoulder with ease and began carrying it out.

The rest of the Lewis Family members watched gloomily as Larry and the others moved the boxes. There were quite a few, and it took several trips to move all the valuable gifts back home.

At the Lewis Family's mansion, Jack couldn't help but ask, "Dad, what do we do now? Everjoy Company is expanding its business, Harry has been arrested, and Chloe has acquired the Everlasting Group. Everjoy can't be left without a leader."

Victor, deep in thought, replied, "Jack, you take charge of Everjoy Company for now."

"Yes," Jack nodded eagerly.

After years of waiting, Jack was finally stepping into the role he'd coveted for so long.

"Julia," Victor looked at Julia, "the Foster Family has a lot of connections. See if they can help bail out Harry and Oscar."

"Grandpa, I'll call Luke right away and ask him to come over," Julia responded quickly, already reaching for her phone.

As the Lewis Family scrambled to rescue Harry and Oscar, Chloe's family, on the other hand, was beaming with joy, surrounded by the lavish gifts.

"Chloe, isn't this limited edition Ferrari the one we saw at the car show last time? Chloe, you can have my Maserati, and I'll take this Ferrari. Mom, let's move to that multi-thousand square foot mansion as soon as possible. It's in Scenic Villas, a true symbol of high status."

Sam couldn't stop smiling.

Chloe, however, frowned and said, "We can't keep these. Return them all."

Maria slapped Chloe on the back of the head and scolded, "Are you stupid? Of course, we should keep them."
