Chapter 261 Larry Gets Caught
Everyone except Xerxes, Esmeralda, and Yorick was sprawled out on the ground, groaning in pain.
"Man, he's strong," Yorick gasped. "I've heard tales about Black Dragon, but seeing him in action is something else."
"Totally," Xerxes chimed in. "He's not just powerful; he's got mad skills in medicine too. Black Dragon's the real deal."
"Dad," Esmeralda looked at Xerxes with pleading eyes.
Xerxes sighed, looking defeated. "What can we do? Let's just head back."
Outside the hotel, Chloe was refusing to leave. She knew these guys were no match for him and worried Larry might go too far and hurt the Lewis Family.
Just as she was freaking out, Larry strolled out, a cigarette dangling from his lips, hands casually in his pockets.
"Honey," Chloe rushed over, her voice full of worry. "Are you okay?"
Larry gave a small smile. "What could happen to me? Let's go."
"You didn't hit anyone, did you?"
"This is a law-abiding society. I just talked to them. They got the message. It's all good now," Larry said, sounding nonchalant.
Chloe wasn't buying it and wanted to go in and check.
"Let's go back," Larry said, grabbing her arm and starting to walk away. He called out to Helen, "Helen, get a cab yourself. I'm not giving you a ride."
"Bye, Chloe, Larry," Helen waved.
Larry drove Chloe back, and she kept asking questions the whole way.
"Don't worry, it's fine. I didn't hit anyone," Larry kept reassuring her.
Chloe finally relaxed a bit.
After Larry left, everyone at the scene was rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, folks from the Carter, Martinez, White, and Williams families all gathered at the hospital.
"Mr. Martinez's condition is really bad. For some reason, his body's failing fast. He won't last more than a week like this."
"Mr. Carter's condition is terrible. Some of his organs are failing."
Hearing the doctor's words, the families were furious.
"Larry has to die."
"Timothy died because of him, Justin's still in the ICU, and now my dad's been hurt by him. If I don't kill him, I won't be able to live with myself."
Both families wanted Larry dead. They quickly held a meeting and decided to use legal means to deal with him.
Larry wasn't Black Dragon anymore. He had hurt people at the Sparkling Star Hotel, and it was all caught on camera.
The families called the cops, who went to gather evidence.
With solid proof in hand, the police moved to arrest Larry at the Lewis Family home.
Larry had just gotten home. Maria and Scott, who had been at the hospital visiting Sam, were already back. Mindy was still at the hospital taking care of Sam.
The family was chilling in the living room when there was a sudden urgent knock on the door.
Chloe opened it and was stunned to see a bunch of heavily armed cops with guns and shields.
A middle-aged officer pulled out an arrest warrant and said coldly, "This is an arrest warrant. Is Larry home?"
"Yes, he's home," Chloe said, terrified, nodding quickly.
The officer gave the order, and a group of cops rushed in.
Maria and Scott were instantly scared and raised their hands.
Larry, smoking on the sofa, frowned as he looked at the cops barging in.
"Larry, you're suspected of intentional assault. Please come with us and cooperate with our investigation," the officer said as some cops quickly moved in, pointing their guns at Larry.
As soon as Larry stood up, the officers instinctively took a few steps back. They'd already seen the footage of Larry beating people up, and they knew he was no joke.
Larry extended his hands, and a few officers came over, slapped on the cuffs, and led him away.
"Take him away."
Chloe couldn't hold back her tears. The moment she saw the cops, she knew Larry must've gotten into a fight at the hotel.
"Honey," she called out, tears streaming down her face.
Larry stopped, gave her a faint smile, and said, "Don't worry, it's fine. Tomorrow morning, go to Mortal Clinic and find Lyra. There's a sword in a hidden compartment under the bed. Have Lyra bring it to the police station."
With that, Larry was taken away, and Chloe broke down in sobs.
At the police station, Larry sat handcuffed in front of two young officers in the interrogation room.
The female officer, probably in her twenties, was twirling a pen before slamming it on the table. "Larry, aren't you going to confess?"
Larry smiled faintly. "Confess what?"
The female officer snapped, "What exactly did you do at the Sparkling Star Hotel at 8 PM tonight?"
"Oh," Larry said calmly, "I taught some people a lesson."
The male officer quickly jotted this down.
The female officer pressed on, "How did you hurt them?"
Larry gestured a few times. "Just like this, and they went down. I didn't even use much force. They're too weak. I advise you to let me go quickly."
The female officer's voice turned icy. "Larry, do you know who you hit? They are from the Carter Family, the Martinez Family, and the Williams Family. You're done for. Get ready to spend the rest of your life in prison."
Larry just smiled. After the interrogation, he was taken to a holding cell.
The police contacted the Martinez and Carter families, letting them know the suspect was caught and asking what they wanted to do.
Both families wanted Larry to rot in prison. Once he was locked up, getting rid of him would be a piece of cake.
They unanimously demanded to prosecute Larry. With the evidence they had, Larry's life was pretty much over.
That night, Larry slept soundly in the holding cell. Chloe, on the other hand, didn't sleep a wink.
Early in the morning, she went to Mortal Clinic and found Lyra.
Chloe was crying. "Larry was arrested. He told me to find you and get a sword from a hidden compartment under the bed. He wants you to bring it to the police station."
Lyra was puzzled but went to the inner room and lifted the bed. Underneath, she found a long box with a piece of black cloth inside.
She uncovered the black cloth and was stunned. Was this the Execution Sword?
Lyra had undergone extensive training as an assassin and knew quite a bit about it. In Summer Nation, the Execution Sword represented supreme power. After the establishment of Summer Nation, this sword became the ultimate symbol of authority, standing above all laws.
Lyra knew that decades ago, this sword had fallen into the hands of the commander of the Black Dragon Army.
After the previous Black Dragon died in battle, the highest leader of Summer Nation reclaimed the sword, and later bestowed it upon Larry when he was appointed commander.
The person who possessed this sword held immense power.
