Chapter 12 The Five Commanders
Larry's face showed helplessness.
Chloe then said, "Go and get the dress from my closet. There's an important banquet tonight."
Larry got up, walked to the closet, opened it, and asked, "Chloe, which one?"
"The white one."
"That's not suitable. You can't wear something so skimpy outside. This one is good." Larry came over with a black turtleneck dress, handed it to Chloe, and asked, "By the way, what banquet is it?"
Chloe said, "The Hall family's auction banquet organized by Roxanne. There are a lot of good items, and many important people will be there. I'm taking this opportunity to expand my social circle."

However, he didn't get any results. Instead, he found out that the reason Chloe was disfigured was that she was burned while rescuing someone from the Bennett family villa fire ten years ago!
The influential figure ordered that they must find out who Chloe saved.

Sunset City Grand Hotel buzzed with activity, hosting the Hall family’s auction gala.
Luxury cars were gathered outside the hotel, with many of Sunset City's elites coming and going.
These were people who had received invitations from Roxanne.
Although the Hall family had gone bankrupt, Sunset City's elites didn't want to attend the auction banquet. However, news that Frederick had returned spurred interest.
The Hall family became the top of the four major families owed much to Frederick.
He was a member of the Western Territory Army and held a high position in the military.
Outside Sunset City Grand Hotel, two men in black trench coats walked up.
Seeing the soldiers guarding outside the hotel, Frank was slightly stunned. "Mr. Bennett, this is the Western Territory Army. Could it be that Frederick from the Hall family has returned? He seems to be the most trusted person of the Western Territory's Free King, holding a high military rank, at the deputy commander level."

The Summer Nation has five regions, each with a commander.
Southwild Black Dragon, Northern Chieftain, Western Territory Free King, Eastern Domain Barbarian King, Aurora Emperor.

Southwild Black Dragon, although the shortest reigning commander, was the strongest. Even if the other four commanders joined forces, they might not be a match for Black Dragon.

So, even if the other four commanders came in person, Larry might not take them seriously, let alone just a trusted subordinate of the Western Territory Free King.
"Mr. Bennett, are we killing someone tonight?" Frank asked.
"The main task tonight is to retrieve the Artwork of Moonlit. Whether anyone dies depends on the situation," Larry replied.
"When do we go in?"
"No rush; we'll wait until the banquet starts."
"Yes, sir!"
They waited outside the hotel, not in a hurry to enter.
The elites of Sunset City who came to attend the banquet trembled when they saw the soldiers guarding the hotel.
Frederick of the Hall family had indeed returned!

Even Chloe was there.

One of the staff members looked at the painting on the ground, cut by the glass, and at Chloe, shouting, "Why did you bump into me?"
"I...I didn't." Chloe was dumbfounded.
She didn't bump into him.
"It's not me; you must be mistaken!"
"That's impossible; you bumped into me, and that's why the painting got damaged. Do you know what this painting is? It's a famous painting from over two thousand years ago, the Artwork of Moonlit, valued at two hundred million dollars!"
Another staff member also spoke up, accusing Chloe, "It was you, Chloe; you bumped into him!"
The commotion attracted a lot of attention.
"What's going on?" A middle-aged man in a military uniform, standing tall, walked over and shouted, "What’s all this shouting about? Show some manners!"
"Frederick, we were carrying the Artwork of Moonlit to the back work area, but Chloe bumped into us, and the Artwork of Moonlit got ruined."
Frederick squatted down, looking at the painting cut by the glass, his face changed instantly. "The Artwork of Moonlit is ruined, it's worth two hundred million dollars!"

A few minutes later, someone brought the surveillance footage.
In front of the elites of Sunset City, Frederick personally played the surveillance video.
In the video, the two staff members were carrying the painting, but they were bumped by Chloe, causing the painting to fall and get damaged.
Seeing this, Frederick said coldly, "Chloe, two hundred million dollars. Take Chloe down and go to the Lewis Family to demand two hundred million dollars. If they don't have the money, bring all the Lewis Family members back."
Seeing the soldiers approaching, Chloe's face turned pale with fear, and she started crying. "It really wasn't me, Mr. Hall, I really didn't do it. I'm innocent. I didn't bump into them."

Frederick ordered, "Take her to the back room!"
In despair and helplessness, Chloe was forcibly taken away by the two fully armed soldiers.
Frederick's methods intimidated many people.
However, they didn't sympathize with Chloe; instead, they felt a bit schadenfreude.
This small incident did not interrupt the auction. At this moment, Roxanne of the Hall family appeared and began to host the auction.
