Chapter 372 Probing Alistair's Background

The night passed quietly.

The next day.

Early in the morning, Shadow arrived.

In the room.

Larry and Shadow discussed for a while.

Larry wanted Shadow to arrange for the Eight Heavenly Dragons to be integrated into the Legion of Flame Surge and to become the guards of the dungeon.

The Legion of Flame Surge was responsible for the security of Aurora Citadel.

To join the Legion of Flame Surge, one must go through rigorous selection processes, and finally, the Legion of Flame Surge General personally evaluated the candidates. Only after passing the evaluation can one become a member of the Legion of Flame Surge.

Shadow was the King's personal bodyguard, without a military rank, and operated in secrecy, but his abilities were immense.

His words essentially represented the King's stance.

Arranging for Lyra and the others to join the Legion of Flame Surge was not difficult for him.

It was actually quite easy.

"Alright, leave it to me." Shadow nodded.

He glanced at the sickly-looking Larry and said, "Once it's done, you need to be careful. Alistair will definitely figure out that you were the one who took Alden. He will surely try to deal with you."

"I understand." Larry nodded lightly.

Shadow didn't say more and turned to leave the room.

In the living room.

Shadow looked at the eight people and instructed, "Follow me. I'll arrange for you to join the Legion of Flame Surge."

The eight nodded and followed Shadow out.

After everyone left, Abigail walked in and asked, "Larry, is everything arranged?"

"Yes." Larry nodded and instructed, "Go buy some medicine."

"Alright, I'll go right away."

"Wait." Larry called out to Abigail as she was turning to leave.

Abigail turned around and asked, "What's wrong? Is there something else?"

Larry thought for a moment and said, "Never mind, many medicines are hard to find in Aurora Citadel. I'll ask Matthew to get them and have them sent over. You can pick them up later."

Abigail agreed.

Larry waved his hand slightly, signaling her to leave.

Abigail turned and walked out, closing the door behind her.

Larry picked up the phone on the table and called Matthew.

"Dr. Rogers, I need you to get me some medicine."

Matthew frowned slightly when he received Larry's call.

He had already helped Larry a lot and didn't want to help him anymore.

But Larry knew his biggest secret, that he was the Grim Reaper. If Larry leaked this information, his hideout would be exposed in no time.

After thinking for a moment, he nodded and said, "Alright, send me the names of the medicines."

Larry hung up the phone.

Then he sent the list of medicines he needed to Matthew and asked him to send them via the fastest courier to Aurora Citadel.

Matthew quickly made arrangements.

He took the medicines from his own warehouse and sent them to Larry.

He used express delivery, which was very fast, and the medicines arrived at Larry's hotel before nightfall.

Larry locked himself in the hotel room to make the medicine.

Fortunately, Abigail was there to help. Otherwise, given his current physical condition, it would have been very difficult to complete the task.

In one night, he finished making the medicine he needed.

The next morning.

Lyra returned.

With Shadow's arrangement, they successfully became members of the Legion of Flame Surge and were assigned to guard the dungeon.

Larry took out the medicine he had made and handed it to Lyra.

"This is knockout smoke. Once the bottle is opened and exposed to air, the smoke will automatically disperse. Anyone who inhales it will instantly fall unconscious."

"This is the antidote for the knockout smoke."

"This is poison. Before rescuing Alden, give him this."

Larry introduced each item he had made to Lyra.

Lyra listened carefully and memorized everything.

"Got it?"

"Got it."

"Good, go ahead and follow the plan. Try not to hurt anyone if possible. If your identity is exposed and your life is in danger, you can defend yourself."

"Yes, understood." Lyra nodded and quickly left.

Larry leaned weakly against the bed.

He fell into deep thought.

Abigail walked over, got on the bed, and started massaging Larry's legs. Her face showed concern, "Look at you, so exhausted, yet doing so much. You should be resting now."

Larry snapped out of his thoughts, waved his hand slightly, and said, "Alright, stop. It's too stuffy in the hotel. Push me outside for a walk."

"Okay," Abigail nodded, "Wait a moment, I'll go change."

She quickly left the room to change in her own room.

She changed into a fitted dress, her long hair tied up, exuding a mature and noble aura. She pushed Larry out of the hotel.

It was morning.

Autumn had arrived, and the weather was a bit chilly. The breeze felt cool on the skin.

"Larry, where to?"

Larry sat in the wheelchair, watching the bustling people on the street.

At that moment, he envied these people. He envied their good health. He said, "To Alistair's place."

Abigail was stunned and asked, "Larry, why are you going to Alistair's place now?"

Larry's lips curled into a faint smile, "Naturally, to meet Alistair. He's caused so much trouble and put me in this state. I need to see him and test his limits."

"Alright." Abigail didn't ask further.

She pushed Larry to the underground garage, opened the car door, helped Larry into the car, then put the wheelchair in the trunk, and drove to Alistair's residence.

They soon arrived at Alistair's residence.

She parked the car in a nearby parking lot, pushed the wheelchair, and slowly walked towards Alistair's residence.

Before they got close, they were stopped by guards.

"Stop. This is the residence of the General. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed."

Larry sat in the wheelchair, looking at the guards of the Legion of Flame Surge blocking the way. His expression was calm, and he said lightly, "Tell Alistair that Larry is here to visit."

As members of the Legion of Flame Surge, these guards naturally knew Larry and had seen him before.

If it were in the past, these guards wouldn't dare to stop Larry.

But now Larry had been demoted, no longer the Black Dragon, just a civilian. They weren't afraid of him.

"The General is very busy and has no time to see unauthorized personnel, The guard said rudely.

Abigail couldn't stand it and stepped forward, scolding, "Open your eyes and see who this is. He is Larry, the former Black Dragon, the General of the Black Dragon Army, the War God of Summer Nation."

The guard glanced at Abigail with a look of mockery and disdain, "You said it yourself, 'former.' Now he's nothing, not qualified to see the General of the Legion of Flame Surge. Leave quickly, or we'll detain you for twenty-four hours."

At that moment, a military vehicle drove up and stopped in front of Larry.

Alistair, dressed in a flame-red battle robe, got out of the car.

"Isn't this Larry? What brings you to my residence for a stroll?"

Alistair's face showed a mocking smile.

Seeing Larry in a wheelchair gave him a sense of accomplishment.

Being able to bring down the Dragon King, who was second to none, was indeed something to be proud of.

He looked at the guards and scolded, "What are you doing? If Larry comes here to enjoy the scenery, don't stop him."

"Yes, yes, understood, General. I was blind and didn't recognize Larry."

The guard lowered his head and kept apologizing.

After scolding the guard, Alistair smiled and said, "Larry, I'm in a hurry for a meeting, so I can't accompany you. Let's have a drink together sometime. You've been a General for quite a while, but we haven't had a good drink together."

"Just a few minutes, let's talk." Larry's face was calm, and he spoke softly.

Alistair pretended to check the time and then said, "Alright, five minutes. Say what you need to quickly. I'm really busy. Honestly, I envy you, your freedom and leisure now."

"Let's talk about the Gu raising person." Larry spoke softly.

Alistair looked at Larry more closely.

Larry continued, "I learned that a hundred years ago, there were many Gu raising people. It was a village, a tribe, and a sect called the Gu organization. They were insane, trying to use Gu to control the world, causing a lot of trouble."

"Oh, really?"

Alistair smiled faintly, "I didn't expect you to know about events from a hundred years ago. Time's up, I need to go to my meeting. We'll discuss this more when we have time."

He turned to leave.

Larry called out, "I never knew what you were up to until the Gu raising person appeared. I was poisoned by Gu, and I learned about the Gu raising person. I also guessed your goal."

Hearing this, Alistair turned around.

His expression turned somber, "Larry, you're already done for. What more do you want? I advise you, don't delve into things you shouldn't know."

Larry said calmly, "I was poisoned by Gu. If I want to survive, I have to understand these things. I believe that as I learn more, I'll know more and more."

Alistair snorted coldly and then turned to leave.
