Chapter 325 Girls Should Know How to Be Reserved

A lot was happening outside, but Larry was unaware and didn't want to bother with it.

He was sleeping at the Imperial Residence.

When he woke up, it was already noon the next day.

He hadn't slept in for a long time.

This time, he woke up because he was hungry.

If it weren't for the hunger, he felt he could have slept a bit longer.

He put on his clothes and left without even shaving.

As soon as he stepped out of the Imperial Residence, he saw someone at the door.

It was a tall woman in a white short skirt.

"Helen?"

Larry was slightly surprised and walked over, asking, "What are you doing here?"

Helen had come early in the morning and had been waiting for a long time.

Hearing his voice, she turned around and smiled, "Everyone's talking about you now. I knew you'd be at the Imperial Residence."

"What's up? Do you need something?"

"You and Chloe..."

Larry waved his hand slightly, interrupting her, and said calmly, "It's over. Don't bring it up again. If there's nothing else, you should go back to work."

Larry turned and walked away.

Helen chased after him, calling out, "Larry, what are you doing? Chloe likes Black Dragon, and Black Dragon is you. It's not really cheating. Why don't you give her a chance? Why not be with her as Black Dragon?"

"There's no need."

Larry took a deep breath.

What Black Dragon, what one of the Five Great Marshals—these were just empty titles.

Without these titles, he was just Larry.

The Larry who was with Chloe was the real him, the truest version of himself.

If Chloe couldn't accept the truest version of him, even if he was with her as Black Dragon, once the novelty wore off, he would still revert to being himself, and Chloe would still leave him.

So, there was no need.

Since he had done everything he could, there was no need to dwell on it, even if he still felt reluctant in his heart.

Helen didn't know how to persuade him.

She knew Larry loved Chloe deeply.

Now that they had suddenly separated, he must be feeling terrible.

"So, where are you going?"

"To eat. You go back to work and do your job well."

Larry didn't say much more, leaving a sentence behind as he walked away.

Helen watched Larry leave and shook her head helplessly.

Larry left the Imperial Residence and found a random restaurant on the street, ordering a few dishes.

During the meal, the other customers in the restaurant were pointing at him.

Although their voices were low, Larry still heard some of it.

They were all discussing him and his marriage to Chloe.

Hearing this, he smiled faintly.

During the meal, Valerian sent a message.

He said that the evidence of Vanessa's infidelity had been collected and sent to Sawyer.

"I got it."

After replying to the message, Larry continued eating. After finishing his meal, he paid the bill and left.

As soon as he stepped out of the restaurant, he saw a luxury car parked at the entrance.

In front of the car stood a middle-aged man and a tall woman.

It was Xerxes and Esmeralda.

Larry walked over, looked at the two, and frowned. "Are you following me?"

Xerxes laughed, "How could that be? Just a little investigation, and we knew your whereabouts."

Esmeralda walked over, boldly linking her arm with Larry's, and said with a smile, "Larry, we're not following you. You promised to help cure my illness, to completely cure it, so I came to find you."

Larry knew about Esmeralda's condition.

Strictly speaking, it wasn't an illness but a special constitution.

Her body had too much yin energy and too little yang energy, leading to an imbalance.

She had been taking medicine to supplement yang energy to maintain the balance, but as she aged and her body systems matured, the yin energy her body released increased, and once the balance was completely broken, it would be the time of her death.

This condition was very difficult to treat.

It could only be maintained with medicine.

To completely cure it, even for Larry, it was very tricky.

"Esmeralda, your condition is a bit difficult. How about this, I'll write you a prescription first. You go back and follow the prescription to regulate your body. Living another ten years shouldn't be a problem. I'll go back and study it carefully to see if I can find a way to completely cure it."

Esmeralda pouted.

She didn't come to see Larry just for her illness.

More importantly, now that Larry was divorced, she was worried he would be heartbroken, so she came to keep him company and see if she could make him fall for her.

"Dad, you go back first. I'll hang out with Larry," she said to Xerxes.

"Esmeralda, do you have money? I'll transfer some to you. Going out costs money. Don't make Mr. Bennett pay for everything. How about I give you a billion dollars first?"

"Just go already, you're so naggy." Esmeralda said with a face full of dissatisfaction, "You always talk about money, it's so annoying."

Xerxes smiled awkwardly.

Then he got in the car and left.

Esmeralda, still holding Larry's arm, smiled and said, "Larry, where do you want to go?"

Larry gently moved Esmeralda's hand away and said, "We're not that familiar. Don't be so intimate. I don't have any particular place to go. Give me your phone number, and I'll send you the prescription later. I have other things to do, so I won't accompany you."

Esmeralda said, "Larry, don't be so cold."

"It's not that, I really have things to do."

"Alright then."

Esmeralda said helplessly and gave him her phone number.

Larry noted it down and nodded, "Okay, I got it. I'll study it tonight and send you the prescription."

After saying that, he turned and walked away.

Esmeralda followed him, calling out, "Larry, where are you going? I'll go with you. I have nothing to do, and I don't know anyone in Sunset City. It's very boring."

Larry really didn't know where he should go.

Before the divorce, he would have gone back to the Lewis family.

But now, after the divorce, he felt like he had lost his home, with no place to return to.

"I'm planning to check out the antique street."

Larry thought for a moment and said.

His family had an heirloom treasure map, the Artwork of Moonlit.

But the map had been missing for ten years.

And the only person who knew its whereabouts, from the Hall family, had long been dead.

But now, there was a clue.

It was said that a treasure chest excavated from Victor Veil's Tomb in Southwild contained something that could unlock the secrets of the Artwork of Moonlit.

He had obtained information from the Grim Reaper's underground intelligence network that the treasure chest had ended up in Sunset City and had once appeared at Timeless Treasures Antiques on the antique street.

Larry had been preoccupied with Chloe and hadn't properly investigated it.

Now that he had some free time, he planned to take a look.

"Larry likes antiques? I like them too. Larry, I'll go with you." Esmeralda said with a smile, linking her arm with Larry's again and leaning her whole body against him, eager to be as close to him as possible.

Larry moved Esmeralda's hand away again.

"So many people are watching. Don't do this. A girl should be reserved."

"In front of Larry, I don't need to be reserved," Esmeralda said with a smile.

Larry frowned and scolded, "If you keep this up, you can go back."

Hearing this, Esmeralda behaved, obediently letting go and standing to the side, nodding her head, "I won't hold Larry anymore."

Larry took a deep breath.

Girls these days were too bold.

Being so intimate with a man they had only met a few times, if they met a few more times, wouldn't they end up having sex?
