Chapter 186 The Storm is Coming
The next day, Chloe got up early. She stood in front of the mirror, fixing her hair.
Meanwhile, she said to Larry, who was still lying in bed, "Honey, the Everlasting Group is now on the right track. It's time to change the name. How about Global Nexus Group?"
Larry looked at Chloe's back.
As if admiring a beautiful piece of artwork, he smiled and said, "Sure."
"Then it's settled. The company will change its name at noon today, marking the founding day of Global Nexus Group. I've already sent out quite a few invitations to many prominent figures for the Global Nexus Group ceremony."
Chloe hadn't wanted to tell Larry about this initially, but since the Everlasting Group was acquired by Larry, she had to inform him about the name change.
"Do you need me to gather some people to support you?" Larry asked.
He knew that the more people who attended the founding ceremony of a company, the stronger its network and the brighter its future would be. Otherwise, it would be seen as a small company.
"No, it's okay. I've invited quite a few people, including Kelly from Everlife Pharmaceuticals, Leo from Legion Group, and several CEOs of large companies," Chloe said, shaking her head slightly.
She knew that Larry was now working at Epoch Group, but he was just a salesperson and didn't know any big names.
"Alright then," Larry said. He started getting dressed. "I'll go with you to take a look."
"You don't have to. You're working at Epoch Group now, you can't just take a day off whenever you want."
Larry looked embarrassed. Work? He was just nominally employed and had never actually been to Epoch Group.
But since Chloe didn't want him to go, he was glad to stay home.
Chloe didn't want Larry to attend the ceremony because she had notified Mr. Bennett from the Serpent Group. Although Mr. Bennett hadn't replied, she didn't know if Larry from the Serpent Group would attend the ceremony.

So, she didn't let husband Larry go.

Larry opened the drawer and took out the phone inside.
He had locked this phone away since he last saw Chloe. The battery was dead.
He charged it for a while and turned it on.
He found many messages from Chloe. They were all simple greetings and some inquiries.
[Mr. Bennett, I'm planning to rename the Everlasting Group. What do you think is suitable?]
[Mr. Bennett, how about calling it Global Nexus Group?]
[Mr. Bennett, tomorrow at noon, the Everlasting Group will officially be renamed Global Nexus Group. Can you attend the founding ceremony?]
Larry read these messages and touched his nose.
Chloe hadn't discussed the name change with him and only informed him this morning, but she had asked Mr. Bennett from the Serpent Group to attend the ceremony well before that.
At home, they were indeed a respectful and cheerful couple, but Chloe never discussed work matters with him.
Larry casually tossed the phone on the table.
"Will you be going, sir?" William asked. "Since Black Dragon resigned and your identity was exposed, the whole of Sunset City knows that the chairman of the Serpent Group is Black Dragon. They also know that you've been helping Chloe behind the scenes. I've also heard quite a few rumors."
William hesitated.
Larry said, "Just say it."
William hesitated for a moment more before saying, "In the past few days, the Serpent Group has been under pressure from several companies. I've learned that after you resigned, the Four Great Families are no longer afraid of you and plan to forcibly take back the Serpent Group."
"Huh?" Larry said, frowning.
The Four Great Families want to retaliate just because his resignation?
William nodded and continued, "Yes, and there's another piece of information I need to tell you."
"Go ahead."
William said, "I've found out that several major families from Aurora Citadel are planning to build a new city outside Sunset City, which is about to surpass Epoch Group."
Upon hearing this, Larry's face turned gloomy. "Several major families from Aurora Citadel are building a new city?"
"Yes, this information came the day after you resigned. Each of the major families is investing 500 billion, totaling 2 trillion, with the aim of building a new city in the shortest time possible to compete with NextGen City."
Larry asked, "Which families?"
William shook his head, "We don't know yet."
Larry lightly tapped his fingers on the table.
