Chapter 255 The Vale Family
Larry glanced at the twenty or so guys in black suits standing in front of him. They looked sharp and ready for anything.
He couldn't help but wonder, who was this woman with so many bodyguards?
Esmeralda spun around, her face red with anger. "Yorick, what the hell are you doing?"
Yorick, who looked to be about forty, dressed simply, with a diamond-shaped face and short hair, stepped forward respectfully. "Mr. Vale told us to stay with you at all times. He's busy now but will be in Sunset City by tomorrow morning."
"I'm not a kid anymore. Can you stop following me?"
Esmeralda looked annoyed. She grabbed Larry and pushed her way out, kicking and punching the bodyguards at the door.
The bodyguards didn't dare fight back.
Yorick sighed and ordered, "Follow them quickly."
"Yes, sir."
The group of bodyguards followed.
Larry found himself dragged into a shopping mall.
In a resting area of the mall, Esmeralda patted her chest, muttering, "Finally got rid of them."
She then looked at Larry, pulled out her wallet, and handed him a few hundred-dollar bills. "Sorry for interrupting your breakfast. This is for the trouble."
Larry took the money and said, "Thanks."
He turned to leave. Esmeralda, feeling free, looked happy.
Just as she turned to go, she collapsed with a scream, passing out.
Larry heard the noise and turned around. He frowned, walking over and squatting down to gently shake her. "Are you okay?"
He noticed something was off. Her face was pale, her hair was suddenly wet, and there were beads of sweat on her eyebrows.
Larry's hand felt like ice as he held hers, making him frown even more. Just then, hurried footsteps approached.
Yorick, with the bodyguards, rushed over, shouting, "Don't touch her."
He quickly approached and ordered, "Get Esmeralda to the hospital, now."
Larry frowned and said, "In her condition, she might not make it to the hospital."
Hearing this, Yorick quickly took out a pill, ready to give it to Esmeralda. Larry snatched it, sniffed it lightly, and even licked it, feeling a burning sensation like he'd licked a hot iron.
"What are you doing?"
Yorick shouted, grabbing the pill back.
Larry calmly said, "This medicine is too strong; it might balance the yin energy in her body, but it'll cause serious damage. Long-term use will definitely kill her."
Yorick glanced at Larry and asked, "Are you a doctor?"
He had come to the medical conference in Sunset City, hoping to find some top-notch doctors to help treat Esmeralda.
"Yeah, let me try." Larry nodded and told the bodyguards, "Form a circle and turn around."
The bodyguards looked at Yorick.
Sunset City was known as Pharma City. Maybe among the regular folks, there was a real miracle doctor. Yorick immediately ordered, "Do as he says."
"Yes, sir."
The bodyguards quickly formed a circle around Esmeralda and turned around.
Larry looked at Yorick and said, "You turn around too."
"What are you trying to do?" Yorick's face darkened.
Larry didn't waste any more words. He helped Esmeralda sit cross-legged on the ground and then pulled her dress up to her waist.
"What the hell are you doing?" Yorick was instantly furious.
Larry snapped, "Shut up."
He pulled out the silver needles he had prepared before leaving. Without bothering to disinfect them, he started inserting them into Esmeralda's body.
Yorick was stunned by Larry's swift actions. Within seconds, Esmeralda's body was covered with dozens of silver needles.
"Hold her."
Larry's voice snapped Yorick back to reality. He quickly reached out to support Esmeralda by her shoulders, preventing her from collapsing.
Larry moved behind her and began his treatment. Soon, the silver needles on her body started emitting mist, expelling cold air from her body.
Esmeralda gradually regained consciousness. She felt a cool sensation all over her body and wanted to move but couldn't.
Feeling her dress being removed, she cried out weakly.
Seeing that most of the cold air had been expelled from her body, Larry removed the needles and said, "Get up and put on your clothes."
Esmeralda quickly stood up. Due to her weakness, she almost fell into Larry's arms.
Larry caught her just in time, holding her slender waist to keep her from falling.
Esmeralda looked up. She saw a face that, while not conventionally handsome, was increasingly attractive and full of charm. Her heartbeat quickened uncontrollably.
Larry helped her stand steadily before letting go, glancing at her chest.
She was wearing a black lace bra, her well-proportioned body mostly exposed, with only her breasts covered.
Larry felt awkward and coughed, "Put on your clothes quickly."
Esmeralda blushed, quickly pulling her dress up and tidying her clothes. Larry turned to leave.
"Doctor, wait a moment."
Yorick quickly called out to Larry, bowing at a 90-degree angle, full of respect. "I am Yorick, the butler of the Vale Family. This is Esmeralda. On behalf of the Vale Family, I invite you to our branch in Sunset City."
Larry waved his hand slightly and said, "No need."
With that, he turned and left. It wasn't until Larry was gone that Esmeralda reacted. She blushed, looking at Larry's departing figure with a faint smile on her face.
"Yorick, I suddenly fell ill and passed out. He saved me, didn't he?"
"Yes."
Yorick nodded. Esmeralda's illness was an old problem. Over the years, he had seen many skilled doctors, but none who could expel the cold air from Esmeralda's body.
The pill he carried was made by a miracle doctor ten years ago, capable of expelling cold air.
But that doctor had said that the pill could only suppress the cold air.
The doctor also claimed Esmeralda wouldn't live past twenty, and she was about to turn twenty this year.
Every year during the medical conference, the Vale Family would come to Sunset City, seeking famous doctors to treat Esmeralda. With lists of herbs, doctors were useless.
Yorick hadn't expected to meet a miracle doctor this time.
"Esmeralda, you have hope now. If he can easily expel the cold air from your body, he can surely cure you completely." Yorick exclaimed excitedly.
"Yorick, I need all his information."
Esmeralda said, tidying her disheveled clothes, pushing through the circle of bodyguards, and turning to leave.
