Chapter 128 Frank on a Blind Date
Chloe was only relieved after seeing Justin leave.
"Chloe, you jerk," Maria yelled as soon as Chloe came out. "Being with Larry is no good. Mr. Carter's family is loaded. Justin is Timothy's only child, and he'll inherit everything."
"Mom, I gotta go," Chloe said, quickly running out the door.
She called Larry after leaving. "Larry, I'm going to Everlife Pharmaceuticals to get some orders from Kelly. Let's get Everlasting Group back to production."
Larry agreed.
Chloe went to work, and Larry left the room, too. As he stepped out, Maria called out, "Stop."
Larry awkwardly walked over.
Maria put a card on the table and said coldly, "There's a hundred thousand dollars in this card. It's my savings. Divorce Chloe. You're not good enough for her."
"Maria, you saved money?" Sam's eyes widened. "Didn't you say you had no money when we were buying insurance?"
Maria replied sternly, "Of course, I saved some money. Otherwise, our family wouldn't have survived."
Sam shut his mouth, played with his Ferrari keys, and said, "Larry, you do housework well, but you're not good enough for Chloe. Can you buy me a sports car worth hundreds of thousands of dollars? No, but Mr. Carter can."
Larry laughed, feeling it was time to reveal his true identity.
"Mom, I actually have money," Larry said, "The Imperial Residence is mine."
Sam burst into laughter. "Larry, you're bragging. Why don't you say NextGen City is yours?"
"Yeah, it's mine." Larry nodded.
Sam cursed, "Damn, what a braggart. NextGen City? You poor guy, you'll never understand."
"It really is mine. With one call, I can get Helen a job at Epoch Group."
Maria looked disgusted, thinking Larry was too poor and loved to brag.
Maria already knew about Helen's job. She got noticed by Sue, the chairman of Epoch Group, on her way to the interview.
"Larry, you must leave Chloe." Maria scolded. "Chloe won't be happy with you."
No one believed Larry's words. He stood up and said, "I don't care. If Chloe wants a divorce, I'll divorce."
Larry walked out the door. With Chloe not around, he found no point in staying home.
Larry had already instructed Sue to prepare the wedding gifts, which would be delivered soon. Then, the Lewis Family would believe his identity.
"Mom, look at Larry, he's getting more arrogant. Chloe is so stupid. Larry just healed Chloe's injuries. She didn't have to marry him, just give him some money," Sam cursed.
The Carter Family was low-profile but powerful. Gifts worth hundreds of thousands, sports cars, a villa—they gave without hesitation.
Maybe, after Chloe married Justin, Sam could get a villa too. The more Sam thought about it, the more excited he became. "Mom, we must make Larry and Chloe divorce."
Maria nodded. "Yeah."
Maria's family discussed how to make Chloe and Larry divorce.
Meanwhile, Larry went to the Mortal Clinic to chat with Frank.
Larry didn't know many people in Sunset City besides Chloe and Frank. And the only one he could have a heart-to-heart with was Frank.
Frank owned a clinic. But running a clinic on Dragon Street was like asking for trouble.
People in Sunset City went to Medical Street for treatment. Out-of-towners also flocked there because of its reputation. They wouldn't bother with a small clinic.
The door of Mortal Clinic was half-open. Before Larry even entered, he heard a woman's voice.
"What's going on?" Larry smiled and listened at the door.
Inside, Frank was sitting across from a woman named Amy Miller. She was about twenty-five, wearing makeup and a flashy dress, looking somewhat attractive.
"Frank, right? We're not a match. You don't have a car, a house, or savings, just this shabby clinic with no business. My boyfriend needs to have at least a house in the city, a car worth over ten thousand dollars, and savings of over ten thousand dollars."
With that, Amy picked up her bag and looked at Frank with disdain. "Poor guy, if you don't have money, don't come on blind dates." Then, she arrogantly left.
"I..." Frank wanted to say something but just sighed.
After Amy left, Larry walked in, laughing so hard he almost bent over. "Frank, seriously? Blind dates? At least pick a romantic place, not Mortal Clinic. It's hilarious."
Frank looked embarrassed. "Mr. Bennett, when did you get here?"
"I've been here for a while. I heard everything: no money, no car, no savings, poor guy..." Larry laughed like it was the funniest joke ever, almost laughing his tears out.
"Alright, stop making fun of me," Frank said sternly.
Larry tried to stop laughing but couldn't. The famous General Frank of Southwild went on blind dates and was called a poor guy.
Holding back his laughter, Larry patted Frank on the shoulder. "Tell me the truth, what kind of woman do you like? I'll set you up."
"I was just bored and downloaded a dating app, randomly met a woman. I wasn't really looking for a relationship. I don't think I'm suited for one," Frank said seriously.
Larry laughed. "I get it. You just want to have sex. You're in your thirties and still a virgin. No worries. I'll take you to some high-end places and find a few young girls for you."
Frank looked disdainful. "You're the same. Don't think I haven't heard the rumors. They say you haven't even had sex with Chloe yet."
Larry blushed. "We'll do it tonight, and have a baby next year."
"Well, you haven't done it yet," Frank said disdainfully. "You have no right to talk."
"Let's drop it. You're not young anymore. Come on, I'll take you out for some fun. Wait, I'll call and find out what entertainment places there are in Sunset City. We'll check them out."
"Mr. Bennett, are you serious?"
"Just to check it out. Consider it experiencing life."
Larry called Leo. He wasn't really interested in these things; he just wanted to take care of his friend. Frank had desires that needed to be satisfied to make him a real man.
And Larry... Tonight, Larry would be with Chloe. Thinking about it made him excited. He'd definitely go home early tonight.
"Leo, it's me, Larry. Hey, do you know any entertainment places in Sunset City where you can hang out with young girls? I'm just asking for a friend."
After asking Leo, Larry hung up and looked at the puzzled Frank, laughing. "Don't just stand there. I've got it all figured out. Let's go check it out. I'll get everything arranged for you, and I need to get home early."
