Chapter 51 Not as Terrifying as the Legends Say
Larry managed to resolve the internal conflicts within the Lewis family with just a few words.
During the nighttime.
In Chloe's room.
Chloe lay on the bed, turning to look at Larry, who was sleeping on the floor.
Thinking about what happened during the day made her a bit anxious.
She asked, "Larry, is it cold on the floor?"
Larry was deep in thought, thinking about his family's treasure map, Artwork of Moonlit, and about encountering Black Rose today. Hearing Chloe's voice, he instinctively responded, "It's okay."
"Then keep sleeping on the floor." Chloe turned away angrily.
She had intended to invite him to sleep on the bed, but he was too dense.
Larry realized his mistake and couldn't help but shiver. "Chloe, I'm really cold."
However, Chloe just kicked down a blanket.
He knew he had missed an opportunity because of his distraction. But he didn't think too much about it; life was pretty good right now.
The night passed quietly.
Early the next morning, Chloe's family went out to buy a car, planning to use Chloe's 200 thousand dollars to buy a luxury vehicle.
Meanwhile, Larry chose to stay home and clean.
After they left, he put down the broom and decided to go out, heading to Mortal Clinic. Because Frank had returned from Southwild.
Southwild was a border region with eighteen small countries.
These countries were rich in minerals and had many wealthy people.
Frank was the deputy commander of the Black Dragon Army, and getting money was easy for him.
After returning to Southwild, he spread the word that the Black Dragon needed some money, and the owners of gold mines, coal mines, diamond mines, and jade mines came to deliver money personally.
They brought tens of millions dollars.
Frank quickly gathered the money and then returned to Sunset City.
Larry rode his electric scooter to Mortal Clinic.
Besides Frank, there was also a woman in tight black leather pants, with a sexy figure and stunning looks.
She was Black Rose, a key member of the Southwild Border thieves' gang.
Frank called out, "Mr. Bennett."
"Black Dragon..." Black Rose knelt immediately upon seeing Larry.
Larry waved his hand slightly and said, "There's no Black Dragon in Sunset City, no need to be formal. Just call me Mr. Bennett."
"Yes," Black Rose stood up and said, "Mr. Bennett."
Then, she stood aside.
Larry sat in a chair and asked, "Frank, did you get the money?"
Frank smiled. "Of course, I spread the word that Black Dragon needed money, and those wealthy merchants came to us."
Larry nodded. "Since we accepted their money, instruct our subordinates to take care of them. Help them as much as we can within our power."
"I've already given the orders, Mr. Bennett. What's the next step?" Frank said.
Larry fell into deep thought.
He was considering buying the Trade Center.
However, both he and Frank had special identities and it was not suitable for them to appear publicly.
He glanced at Black Rose.
At his glance, she trembled and couldn't help but kneel again.
Larry frowned. "What do you mean by this?"
Black Rose was stunned, thinking, 'You look at me strangely and then ask me what I mean?'
However, she didn't dare to say it out loud.
She said, "Black Dragon, please punish me."
Larry said, "No one is going to punish you, stand up and speak."
Black Rose stood up, keeping her head down, not daring to say a word.
Larry asked, "Black Rose, what's your real name?"
Black Rose replied truthfully, "Commander, my real name is Sue Cox."
Larry said, "Sue, I'm planning to buy the Trade Center in Sunset City. You'll be in charge of this. Frank will help you in the background, preparing everything so you can buy the Trade Center at the lowest price. Your task is to attract businesses and turn the Trade Center into a top financial hub."
"Yes." Black Rose nodded, not daring to refuse.
Larry added, "Frank."
"Mr. Bennett, your orders."
Larry instructed, "Notify the people in Southwild to investigate Victor Veil's Tomb. Find out who hired Black Rose's gang to rob the tomb, and also identify the person who killed and stole the treasure. Was it someone from Black Rose's gang or someone else?"
"Understood, I'll arrange it right away." Frank nodded and walked out, taking out his phone to call Southwild headquarters, instructing them to use all their connections to investigate.
Larry looked again at Black Rose, who was trembling with her head down.
He pointed to a chair. "Sit, don't be so tense."
"I don't dare." Sue was almost in tears from fear.
This was Black Dragon, the commander who swept through the eighteen countries of the Southwild Border with a million-strong Black Dragon Army.
In front of Black Dragon, she didn't dare to sit.
Larry added, "I told you, there's no Black Dragon in Sunset City, only Larry."
"Yes, Mr. Bennett," Sue spoke, her whole body trembling.
She sat down.
Larry asked, "Tell me everything about the tomb."
"Yes." Sue nodded and recounted the events.
About three months ago, they received a payment and a map to rob an ancient tomb. They spent a month surveying before entering the tomb.
After bypassing many traps, they reached the depths of the tomb.
In a crystal coffin, they found an ancient box with a key inserted in it.
At that moment, their electronic devices suddenly malfunctioned, and their flashlights went out.
Then came the screams.
She was closest to the box and saw a shadow approaching the crystal coffin. In a panic, she grabbed the box but it was snatched away, leaving her with only the key.
After getting the key, she was shot.
She couldn't care about anything else and escaped the tomb with the key.
Since then, she had been trying to find out who took the box.
She found some clues, which led her to Sunset City.
She said, "Mr. Bennett, I don't know who the killer is, but they are very powerful. If I hadn't escaped quickly, I would have died in the tomb too."
Larry listened carefully, trying to judge the truth of her words.
After giving instructions to Southwild headquarters, Frank walked back in.
He also heard Sue's recounting of the tomb events.
Larry glanced at Frank.
Having followed Larry for many years, Frank immediately understood, quickly drawing his gun and pressing it against the back of Sue's head.
Sue's legs gave out in fear, and she knelt on the ground, her forehead touching the floor, trembling and begging for mercy, "I don't know how I offended you, please forgive me."
Larry's expression was cold. "Did you lie about anything?"
"Absolutely not."
Larry waved his hand slightly.
Frank immediately put away his gun.
Larry added, "Alright, get up. Since you've joined me, just focus on doing your job. Remember, this is Sunset City. There's no Black Dragon or Black Rose here. I'm Larry, and you're Sue. As for your identity, make it grand. After all, someone who can buy the Trade Center won't be an ordinary person."
After giving his instructions, Larry got up and left.
After he left, Sue finally sighed in relief.
Her smooth forehead was already bleeding, and sweat appeared on her fair face.
Frank smiled. "Don't be too nervous. Mr. Bennett isn't as scary as the rumors say. He's actually quite good to his subordinates. As long as you follow him loyally and don't betray him, you'll be fine. But if you do betray him, the consequences..."
"I know." Sue nodded repeatedly.
Frank said, "Come on, get to work on what Mr. Bennett assigned. Buy the Trade Center as soon as possible."
