Chapter 120 Making Things Worse

According to Larry, they needed to split Everjoy Company from the Lewis Family and have Chloe start her own business.

However, Maria wasn't having it. She knew this was a scheme by Harry's family. If they split, Harry's family would win.

Maria wasn't about to let that happen. Everyone in Maria's family knew it was a setup by Harry's family, but they had no proof and felt stuck.

"Leave it to me," Larry said, seeing Chloe's upset face.

Holding her hand, he reassured her, "I'll talk to Benjamin."

"It's no use. If talking worked, Benjamin wouldn't have framed me. We have no proof," Chloe said, tears streaming down her face.

"Don't worry, I've got a plan," Larry said, standing up and leaving.

Once he left the Lewis Family, Larry called Frank and asked him to get in touch with Grim Reaper to find out where Benjamin lived.

Since Free King had succeeded, Frank couldn't use the official intelligence network anymore. He had to rely on the underground network. Soon, Frank sent Larry the details of Benjamin's whereabouts.

Larry was pleased. Grim Reaper, true to his name, was even faster than the official channels.

In a certain neighborhood in  Sunset City, Benjamin had just gotten home from work.

He was supposed to work another year before retiring, but he retired early and got a monthly pension. Plus, he got $20,000 before retiring.

He went to the market, bought a chicken and fish, and planned a nice lunch.

Humming a tune, he reached his door and was about to take out his keys when he saw a man standing there.

"Larry?" Benjamin was shocked to see Larry at his door.

As an old employee of Everjoy Company, Benjamin knew about the Lewis Family's internal affairs and knew Chloe's husband, Larry.

Chloe had once arranged for Larry to work at the company for a day, but Larry ended up offending a bunch of people.

"Benjamin, living a good life, right? Chicken and fish," Larry said with a mocking smile.

Benjamin knew Larry was there for Chloe. But since Larry didn't bring it up, neither did he. He smiled and said, "I'm old now. Retiring early is a good thing. Planning to have a nice meal."

Larry's smile vanished, and his face was replaced by a grim look. He grabbed Benjamin by the collar and lifted him off the ground.

Benjamin cried out in panic, "Larry, what are you doing?"

Larry dragged him to the stairwell corner and opened the window.

"You..." Benjamin's face turned pale.

Dangling in mid-air with the breeze on his face, Benjamin shivered in fear, wetting his pants.

"Larry... this... this is the eighth floor. Hold on tight..."

Benjamin's teeth chattered, and he could barely speak. "Benjamin, you have some nerve, framing my wife Chloe. You scum, I'll throw you down and kill you," Larry cursed, pretending to let go.

Benjamin's face turned pale with fear. He clung tightly to Larry's hand and shouted, "No, it's not my fault. Oscar made me do it. Then Harry came and gave me $20,000 to frame Chloe. If I didn't do it, I'd be sued. It's really not my fault. I was threatened."

Larry pulled Benjamin back in and threw him on the ground like a rag doll.

"Go to the Lewis Family and explain everything, or else..."

Seeing Larry's grim face, Benjamin shivered in fear and hurriedly said, "I'll go to the Lewis Family and find Mr. Victor Lewis to explain everything."

Benjamin scrambled down the stairs. Larry decided to head back too.

At the Lewis Mansion, Benjamin collapsed onto the floor in front of Victor, crying his eyes out. "Larry threatened me. He said he'd throw me off the eighth floor if I didn't come to you. He said this had nothing to do with Chloe and that it was all Harry's orders."

Victor slammed his hand on the table, cursing, "That bastard Harry. He's too arrogant."

"Mr. Victor Lewis, you have to protect me. You don't know how fierce Larry is. He'll kill me," Benjamin pleaded.

Victor coldly replied, "I want to see what Chloe's family is up to. Oscar."

"Grandpa," Oscar stood up excitedly.

Victor shouted, "Go, bring Chloe's family here."

"Yes." Oscar had a smug look on his face, thinking, 'Chloe, let's see how you explain this time.'

The Lewis Mansion wasn't far from Chloe's house, so Oscar went personally to fetch Chloe's family.

Larry had already returned.

Seeing everyone sitting gloomily in the room, Larry smiled and said, "Don't worry, Benjamin has confessed. He's already gone to the Lewis Mansion to admit his mistake. Victor will come over soon."

Hearing this, Chloe looked at Larry and asked, "What did you do to Benjamin?"

Larry smiled faintly. "Someone like Benjamin needs a good scare. I almost threw him off the eighth floor. He was so scared that he confessed everything and said he'd go to the Lewis Mansion to apologize to Victor."

"Larry, well done."

"Larry, you're amazing."

Chloe's family rarely praised Larry, and Larry just smiled faintly.

Before long, there was a knock on the door. Larry smiled and said, "It must be someone from the Lewis Family."

Maria instructed, "Sam, go open the door."

"Okay." Sam stood up to open the door.

Seeing Oscar at the door, Sam's face turned grim, and he said, "Even if you're here to beg Chloe, it's useless unless you kneel and apologize."

"What?" Oscar was stunned, then cursed, "Sam, are you an idiot? I'm not here to beg Chloe. Grandpa sent me to bring your family to the Lewis Mansion."

Sam was taken aback and asked, "Didn't Benjamin already confess?"

"He did." Oscar laughed, "I've delivered the message. Whether you go or not is up to you. I'm heading back."

Oscar left, laughing smugly. His triumphant laughter made Sam feel that something was wrong.

Sam returned to the living room. "Mom, Chloe, something seems off. Oscar said Grandpa wants our whole family to go to the mansion."

"Then let's go and see." Larry stood up first.

Chloe also stood up. Maria, Scott, and Mindy followed closely behind.

The family left their home and walked to the Lewis Mansion. As soon as they entered, they felt the atmosphere was off.

Victor had a grim expression, and Benjamin sat to the side, head down, looking uneasy.

Seeing Larry come in, Benjamin shivered and almost fell off the sofa. He looked at Victor with a pleading expression, "Mr. Victor Lewis, you said you would protect me..."

Victor slightly raised his hand, signalling him to stop. He looked up at Maria's family as they walked in.

"You bastards, you're too arrogant. You completely disrespect me as the head of the family and ignore the family rules. The first rule of the Lewis Family is to act with a clear conscience," Victor angrily scolded.

Larry raised an eyebrow. 'What is going on? Did Benjamin not tell the truth?'

"Benjamin, didn't I tell you to tell the truth? What did you say to Grandpa?"

"I, I..." Benjamin recalled the previous incident and turned pale with fear. But then he remembered that this was the Lewis Family, and Mr. Victor Lewis was the head of the family, which gave him a bit of confidence.

Looking at Larry, he cursed viciously, "Larry, don't think I'll give in. Trying to force me to frame Harry? No way. The fake medicine incident was ordered by Chloe, and it has nothing to do with Harry."

"You..." Larry was furious. He had seen shameless people before, but never someone this shameless.

Chloe quickly held back the enraged Larry.
