Chapter 104 The General Arrives

Timothy ran the show at the Five-State Business Alliance in Sunset City.

Yesterday, Francis from the Martinez Family, who was also part of the Alliance, ticked off Victor.

Nathan, the Alliance's president, was livid. He called Timothy and chewed him out, demanding he get Victor's forgiveness.

Timothy knew it was because the Lewis Family had connections with a big-shot general.

To smooth things over, Timothy brought extravagant gifts today and personally showed up for Victor's birthday.

Timothy’s usually a low-key guy who skipped most parties. So, seeing him here with such fancy gifts made a lot of families green with envy.

Everyone knew the Lewis Family was on the up and up.

Victor, decked out in a red suit and leaning on a cane, strolled over with a big grin. "Timothy, just having you here is enough. No need for all these gifts. I did nothing to deserve that."

"Victor, it’s just a little something to show my respect. Hope you like it." Timothy wasn’t about to take any chances with Victor.

Seeing this, people started whispering.

"Who’s Victor got in his corner that even Timothy’s showing him this much respect?"

With Timothy’s arrival, the party hit its peak. But Victor still wasn’t satisfied. Even though he was getting a lot of respect, the guests were all business folks. Not a single bigwig from the military or political circles had shown up.

Victor leaned over to Chris and asked quietly, "Chris, when are Daniel and that General getting here?"

"Victor, relax. They’re already here. But Sunset City is the heart of the Five-States. With Free King around, the General from Neon City had to pay his respects to Free King first."

Oscar couldn’t help but ask, "Chris, can you get Daniel to invite Free King over?"

Harry smacked Oscar on the head. "What are you thinking? You know what kind of person Free King is. Having a general here is already a huge honor for the Lewis Family."

"Yeah, you’re right," Oscar mumbled, not daring to say more.

But Victor was tempted. If Free King showed up, this party would be perfect.

Victor also asked, "Chris, can you get Daniel to invite Free King over?"

Chris looked troubled. Having both Daniel and the General here was already more than he expected. Victor wasn’t important enough to get Free King to show up. "Victor, even though Daniel has some pull in Neon City’s military district, Free King commands the five armies. Even the top guy in Neon City wouldn’t dare invite Free King."

Hearing this, Victor looked disappointed. But it was still pretty good.

Today, Victor was the most respected and envied man in all of Sunset City. This was the Lewis Family’s most glorious moment.

After today, the Lewis Family would build powerful connections, and becoming a prestigious family would just be a matter of time.

Outside the Imperial Residence villa, under a big tree,a business car without plates was parked there, with Larry and Frank inside.

Frank was holding a laptop, watching the scene at the Imperial Residence through surveillance. "Mr. Bennett, Victor’s getting a bit full of himself. He’s a smart guy. How could he not see why so many big shots are here for his birthday?"

Larry leaned back in his chair, smoking a cigarette, looking lazy and indifferent. "A show-off stubborn guy. For Chloe, I’m letting Victor have his moment. He trusts some deputy captain of a special police unit over me. He’ll pay for that later."

Frank zoomed in on Chloe with the surveillance. Handing over the laptop, he said, "Mr. Bennett, look at Mrs. Bennett."

Larry immediately perked up and took the laptop, seeing Chloe on the surveillance video.

Chloe was in a white dress, her long hair elegantly styled, looking like a princess. A bunch of wealthy young men were around her, trying to win her favor.

Seeing this, Larry handed the laptop back to Frank. "Keep an eye on everyone who talks to Chloe, especially those with greedy looks. Note them all down, and I'll deal with them later."

Frank looked a bit embarrassed. "Mr. Bennett, isn't that a bit too much? Chloe needs her social circle. If you do this, no one will dare to be her friend."

Larry, with a stern expression, said, "Making friends is fine, but if their intentions are impure, then they’ll get what’s coming to them."

"Alright, I'll keep an eye out and see if anyone has any bad intentions." Frank scanned the entire scene.

Inside the Imperial Residence hall, Victor was busy greeting the big shots who came to celebrate his birthday.

"Neil Ward from the military district of Neon City is here, bringing a case of special reserve wine." A voice echoed through the hall.

This announcement stunned everyone.

The hall, filled with hundreds of people, instantly fell silent, and everyone looked towards the entrance.

Neil and Daniel walked in through the main door.

Both were in military uniforms. Leading them was a middle-aged man, Neil, around fifty, wearing a military cap with a star on his shoulder. The person following Neil also had a high rank.

"They're here! Daniel brought General Neil," Chris said excitedly.

Chris quickly walked over, stood straight in front of Neil, and saluted. "Chris, Deputy Captain of the Special Police Unit in Neon City."

Neil nodded slightly in acknowledgment.

Daniel, who was behind Neil, walked over, patted Chris on the shoulder, and smiled. "Chris, well done. You've brought honor to the Ortiz family by getting close to the Lewis Family. You'll have a bright future ahead."

Chris was a bit confused.'Getting close to the Lewis Family?'

Neil walked up to Victor, smiling, and extended his hand. "Victor."

Victor quickly handed his cane to Stella beside him and shook Neil's hand with both of his, tears of excitement almost falling. "Neil, I'm really grateful you could come. Please, have a seat."

"Victor, no need for that."

Many people witnessed this scene. At this moment, they were envious. The Lewis Family actually knew General Neil and could even invite him over.

Although he was a general from Neon City, being familiar with a general meant that the Lewis Family was truly rising in prominence.

Chris smiled in pride. Stella also held onto Chris, basking in the envious gazes of the crowd.

Every member of the Lewis Family stood straight with pride. At this moment, the Lewis Family felt incredibly honored.

Maria, on the other hand, felt ashamed. Looking at Chloe beside her, she sighed. 'This is what other people's son-in-law is like. So impressive, such grandiosity. Not only did he let Victor host his birthday at the Imperial Residence, but he also invited a general. What about my son-in-law?'

Thinking of Larry, Maria felt a surge of anger.

Chloe knew what Maria was thinking. She smiled awkwardly and said, "Mom, I will bring you honor in the future, too."

Neil's arrival pushed the birthday party's atmosphere to another climax.

However, at that moment, another voice rang out. "Miss Cox, the chairwoman of the Epoch Group, has arrived."

As the voice echoed, everyone held their breath.

Sue, the chairwoman of the Epoch Group, was a mysterious figure who had bought the entire Epoch Group.

All eyes were fixed on the entrance. Sue, in a blue dress, exuding extraordinary grace, walked in. Behind Sue was Helen.

Seeing Helen following Sue, Maria, Chloe, Sam, and others all stood in bewilderment.
