Chapter 375 Nauseating Alistair

Tonight, Aurora Citadel was in chaos.

Thieves broke into the grand hall, causing a huge commotion. It took the Legion of Flame Surge to capture them.

But soon after, the entire city was locked down.

Police cars and military vehicles were constantly patrolling, setting up checkpoints at major intersections.

The citizens had no idea what was happening and could only stay obediently at home.

The Legion of Flame Surge searched the entire city all night but couldn't find Alden.

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night for many.

The night passed quietly.

The next day.

Larry was still asleep when Abigail woke him up.

He groggily opened his eyes and saw Abigail had already placed breakfast on the table. He picked up his phone and saw it was already 10 AM.

"Wow, it's already 10? I haven't slept this well in ages."

"You must be starving. I made breakfast." Abigail held a bowl and spoon, ready to feed Larry.

Larry quickly took the bowl and said, "I can handle it myself. I'm heading back to Sunset City soon. If I get used to this, what will I do without you taking care of me?"

"Then I'll go back with you. As long as you don't mind, I'll take care of you forever."

Larry glanced at her.

Their eyes met.

Larry smiled and said, "Better not. One Chloe is already exhausting me. I don't want to owe another woman anything."

Abigail laughed and said, "Just kidding. Look at you, sweating from your forehead."

"Really?"

Larry chuckled lightly, took the soup from Abigail, and started eating.

He finished quickly.

After eating, he lay back on the bed, lit a cigarette, and looked relaxed.

Abigail went to open the curtains and windows.

Then she started cleaning up the dishes.

Alistair returned.

Aurora Citadel, Legion of Flame Surge headquarters.

Alistair wore a blazing red battle robe, with a flame emblem and five stars on his shoulder.

In front of him, several one-star generals knelt.

"Useless."

Alistair pointed at the kneeling generals and angrily scolded, "The dungeon was heavily guarded, yet the enemy silently rescued Alden. If this gets out, how can the Legion of Flame Surge stand in Aurora Citadel, or in Summer Nation?"

"The people who rescued Alden must be significant. They planned everything in secret, and we were completely unprepared."

"Yes, I investigated. Someone infiltrated the Legion of Flame Surge, which allowed them to silently rescue Alden. But we can't find out who let these people in, and their records have been erased."

Alistair sat nearby, deep in thought.

Who?

Who could it be?

He couldn't figure out who rescued Alden at this time.

And they managed to escape Aurora Citadel under the Legion of Flame Surge's watch.

This person's abilities must be extraordinary.

He couldn't think of anyone in Aurora Citadel capable of silently rescuing Alden and escaping unnoticed.

"Didn't you find any clues?"

He looked at the kneeling generals.

"No."

"Not yet."

"We only know the enemy was familiar with the dungeon's layout and had a meticulous plan. First, they infiltrated the Legion of Flame Surge, then used the daily inspection time to enter the dungeon, cut the power, and silently replace the surveillance footage. Every step was carefully planned."

The generals recounted the events.

Alistair listened intently.

"Could it be Larry?"

At that moment, he had a suspicion.

But he quickly dismissed it. Larry was now a broken man, without real power. He couldn't have done it, and the big shots in Aurora Citadel wanted him dead, so they wouldn't help him.

Larry had no reason to rescue Alden.

"Investigate. No matter what, find out who did this. Issue a warrant and capture Alden."

"Yes, sir."

The generals nodded repeatedly.

Today, the sun was shining brightly.

Larry got up, ate breakfast, and Abigail pushed him outside to enjoy the sun.

"Larry, where are we going now?"

On the street, Abigail couldn't help but ask.

She had been pushing Larry for two hours. She had never served anyone like this before.

Now her feet were sore.

"Let's go to Alistair's place."

Larry was in a good mood.

Rescuing Alden meant there was hope for curing the poison in him.

Alistair had caused him so much trouble, he had to annoy Alistair a bit.

"Alright."

Abigail really didn't want to walk anymore, but she had no choice since Larry insisted.

She pushed Larry to the parking lot, got in the car, and drove to Alistair's place.

Soon, they arrived near Alistair's residence.

This time, the guards didn't stop Larry but followed him closely.

"Is Alistair home?"

Larry sat in his wheelchair, looking at the Legion of Flame Surge members nearby, and asked casually, "By the way, I heard something big happened in Aurora Citadel last night. What's going on?"

The guards didn't respond.

Larry's visit had already been reported to Alistair.

Alistair, knowing Larry was near his residence again, came out.

From a distance, he greeted Larry, "Larry, you really have a good mood. Why do you keep coming around here?"

Larry looked at Alistair approaching and smiled, "Just bored. I heard something happened in Aurora Citadel last night. The Legion of Flame Surge was deployed, and the whole city was locked down. I was so scared I couldn't sleep. What happened?"

"Nothing, just a security drill." Alistair waved his hand dismissively.

"Come on, I'm at your doorstep. Aren't you going to invite me in?" Larry smiled brightly.

Seeing Larry's smile, Alistair felt irritated.

"Better not. My place isn't suitable for someone as distinguished as you."

His face was somber.

He stared coldly at Larry, pondering Larry's purpose for coming here.

Did he know what happened last night and came to mock me?

"Larry, were you at the hotel all night?"

Larry shrugged and said, "Where else would I be? In my condition, I can barely walk. Where could I go? By the way, Alistair, for old times' sake, let me go. Give me the antidote. I promise I won't be your enemy. Once I'm healed, I won't oppose you."

"Larry, what do you mean? Do you think I poisoned you?" Alistair looked displeased.

Larry retorted, "Why? Wasn't it you? The person who poisoned me said it was you. Is there another Alistair in Summer Nation?"

"Misunderstanding, it must be a misunderstanding. Larry, you can't say that." Alistair hurriedly explained with a smile.

"If it's not you, then forget it." Larry smiled lightly.

He was just bored and came to annoy Alistair.

Seeing Alistair's fake face made him quite happy.

"Alistair, really not inviting me in? I'm planning to go back to Sunset City to recover. Who knows, I might die soon. Then you won't have a chance to invite me."

Alistair patted Larry's shoulder and said, "Take care. I'll visit you in Sunset City if I have time. If you encounter any trouble, remember to call me."

He looked concerned.

Anyone who didn't know would think they were good brothers.
