Chapter 206 The Five-State Business Alliance Supports You
Chloe was totally losing it. The only dude who could bail her and her fam out now was Justin.
They were hanging at the restaurant, waiting.
Justin rolled into the private dining room about half an hour later.
He was rocking a designer suit, sporting a fancy watch, looking all suave and stuff.
He strolled in, all cool, "Chloe, Abigail."
Chloe jumped up, "Mr. Carter."
Abigail stayed put, just gave Justin a little smile and pointed to the seat across from Chloe, "Justin, take a seat."
Chloe sat back down. Justin plopped down too. Sitting close, Chloe scooted a bit to keep some space between them.
Justin shot her a glance, a smirk on his face, "So, Chloe, where's your hubby Larry?"
"He's on a business trip."
"Is that so?" Justin smirked, not buying it. He knew who Larry really was, even if others didn't.
Chloe's hubby Larry was Larry from The Serpent Group, aka Black Dragon.
He just couldn't figure out why Larry had to play two roles.
He knew Larry had gone to Southwild and might already be toast in Southwild Cedar Grove.
The business trip was just a cover.
"Chloe, Abigail filled me in on your situation. Look, a billion bucks is no biggie for me. But why should I help you? We ain't got any ties."
Justin figured Larry was already dead in Southwild Cedar Grove.
Even if he wasn't and came back, Larry wouldn't be a problem for him.
He started negotiating straight with Chloe.
Abigail jumped in, "Justin, Chloe's my friend. We've been tight since high school."
"Abigail, I usually help with small stuff, but this is big money. I'm not running a charity here."
Chloe couldn't help but beg, "Mr. Carter, I'm really desperate. Please help me."
Chloe's look made Justin feel a bit sorry for her.
He thought for a sec and said, "How about you ditch Larry and marry me? I'll fix everything. Whether it's dealing with the Martinez family or paying off Sam's loan sharks, I'll handle it. I'll even throw in a billion bucks to kickstart your business. The Business Growth Collective is gunning for Black Dragon, not you."
Chloe looked torn.
Abigail quickly urged, "Chloe, what are you waiting for? Mr. Carter's way better than Larry. What's wrong with being with Mr. Carter?"
Chloe was stuck. She had thought about divorce. But she was thinking about being with Larry from The Serpent Group after the divorce, not Justin.
Chloe's hesitation ticked Justin off, and he said coldly, "Chloe, those are my terms. If you're in, just call me."
With that, he walked out.
Abigail sighed, "Chloe, I've done what I can. If you don't take this chance, there's nothing more I can do. I really don't get what's so great about Larry that makes you stick with him. If I were you, I'd have dumped him ages ago."
She got up.
"Think it over."
And she left too. After they were gone, Chloe broke down crying.
'Do I really have to divorce and jump into someone else's arms to fix this mess?' she thought. She didn't want to sell herself to keep her family safe. She hated Sam for draining her bank account, gambling, and borrowing so much from loan sharks.
If it weren't for Sam, none of this would have happened.
After Justin left, he immediately hooked up with the Martinez family.
Even though one was in Sunset City and the other in Neon City, the Carter family and the Martinez family were tight, thanks to their Harmony Alliance Circle connection.
Scenic Villas, the Carter Mansion.
"Mr. Martinez, welcome," Justin greeted Francis himself.
"Justin, Mr. Carter."
Francis walked in, and they shared a bro hug. In the living room on the first floor of the villa, Francis grinned, "Mr. Carter, what's the occasion?"
Justin got straight to it, "I heard the Martinez Family lent Chloe two billion bucks, and there's still half a billion left?"
Francis's face darkened. Because of Larry, three generations of the Martinez Family had been through hell.
Caius even had to kneel before Chloe, losing all his pride.
With Black Dragon supposedly dead in Southwild Cedar Grove, Francis was itching for payback.
"Mr. Carter, are you here to plead for Chloe?"
Justin quickly clarified, "Mr. Martinez, you've got it wrong. I called you here to push Chloe for the money. No, actually, sue her. Sue her today and push her to the edge."
Francis looked confused, staring at Justin, "What’s your angle?"
Justin smirked, "I'm crazy about Chloe. If we don't push her to the brink, she won't fall into my arms."
Francis laughed, "Alright, since Mr. Carter asked, I’ll do it. I'll notify the court right away to issue a summons to Chloe. The trial will be tomorrow, and we'll freeze the Lewis family's businesses."
"Pleasure doing business." Justin laughed heartily.
With Francis's help, getting Chloe would be a breeze. But that wasn't enough.
He had also dug into Chloe's background. With a villa and loads of pricey stuff Larry had given her, covering the half-billion owed to the Martinez family wouldn't be too hard.
Using the Carter family's connections, he reached out to Alexander, a rising power in Sunset City.
Sunset City, a private club.
This was Alexander's turf.
Inside a swanky private room, over twenty hot and beautiful women were dancing.
Alexander was chilling with some gangsters and rich folks, plotting to take over the territories of big shots like Lord and Nine-Fingered, aiming to rule the underground world of Sunset City.
Just then, a lackey walked in. "Alexander, Mr. Carter is here."
Alexander barked, "Let him in." Mr. Carter walked in.
Alexander lounged on the sofa, legs crossed, holding a sexy lady, and eyed Justin, "Mr. Carter, what brings you here today?"
Everyone in the room tensed up.
The Carter family was a big deal in the Five-State Business Alliance in Sunset City. A top-tier family with billions in assets. Their sudden visit had the shady folks on edge.
Justin smiled, "Alexander, I've heard a lot about you. I'm here to make a deal. Help you become the new power in Sunset City."
Alexander looked puzzled.
Justin said coolly, "From now on, the Five-State Business Alliance will back you. In all of Sunset City, and even across five states, no one will dare mess with you."
Hearing this, Alexander's face lit up. He immediately pointed to a few sexy women and shouted, "What are you waiting for? Serve Mr. Carter."
