Chapter 230 The Thoughts of a Big Star
Xavier, usually so full of himself, got totally spooked by just one line from Larry. He didn't even dare to peep and just went off to sing like a good boy.
Larry gave Sawyer a friendly pat on the shoulder, grinning, "Chill, man. No need to stress. Just take it easy."
"Thanks a lot," Sawyer said, super grateful.
Larry just waved it off, "No biggie."
Abigail shot Larry a curious glance, scratching her chin. Larry was acting kinda weird. She always thought he was just some random guy.
But today, Larry showed some serious muscle. He took down a bunch of Lysander's goons like it was nothing, kicked Visionary and his crew out of the party, and even the big-shot Xavier was treating him with mad respect.
And he called Larry "Chairman." What kind of chairman was this guy?
Abigail called out, "Larry."
Larry looked over, and she smiled, "Come sit at my table."
Larry just waved her off, "Nah, thanks."
He headed back to his seat. He didn't know anyone there; they were all nobodies.
Abigail went back to her spot. Just then, Chloe came out of the bathroom, totally clueless about what went down.
Abigail leaned in and asked, "Chloe, what did your hubby Larry do before?"
Chloe looked a bit puzzled, not getting what Abigail was hinting at.
Abigail asked again.
"My husband was in the military. He retired from Southwild, and he was in the Black Dragon Army," Chloe said proudly, "Now he works at the Epoch Group. He's just a salesperson, but getting a job there is no joke."
Abigail knew Larry was a salesperson at Epoch Group. But now, she had a feeling there was more to him.
She glanced at Larry, munching away in the distance, but didn't dwell on it.
The dinner rolled on, and Xavier was belting out his songs.
Before the night was over, he had finished his set of twenty songs.
Chloe had finished eating too. Seeing Xavier was done, she walked over and asked shyly, "Xavier, can I get a pic with you?"
Xavier saw a gorgeous woman with a killer figure.
He checked out Chloe, who was even hotter than the celebs in the industry.
He used to be a big deal. Newbie female celebs would flock to him to boost their fame.
But Chloe caught his eye. He nodded and smiled, "Sure, it's too crowded and noisy here, let's go outside."
"Okay."
Chloe, feeling flattered, nodded right away.
The two stepped outside the hall. A bunch of classmates who had finished eating followed them, hoping to snag a pic with the big star Xavier to show off later.
Xavier and Chloe stood together outside. Chloe pulled out her phone and opened the camera.
Xavier naturally moved closer and even put his arm around her slim waist.
As soon as his hand touched Chloe, she tensed up and quickly pulled away.
Xavier looked annoyed, "It's a privilege to take a pic with me. What's wrong with getting a bit closer?"
He tried to put his arm around Chloe again.
"Forget it, no pic," Chloe said, walking away quickly. She didn't expect Xavier to be like this.
A dark look crossed Xavier's face. Lowering himself to take photos with fans was a favor to them. As a big star, countless female fans would kill to sleep with him and take pride in it.He snorted coldly.
Chloe bounced, and a bunch of other girls swarmed Xavier for pics. If they were hot, he'd wrap an arm around their waist or shoulder. If not, he'd just stand next to them.
After the photo op, he headed back to a room on the second floor to chill.
His manager, Elodie, was already there, lounging on the bed.
Elodie was around thirty but looked like she was still in her late teens, with flawless skin and all.
She was sprawled out in a sexy dress.
"Elodie," Xavier burst in, grinning like a kid on Christmas, "Guess who I saw?"
Elodie, half-asleep, mumbled, "Another fan you wanna hook up with?"
"No, I saw the big boss behind the Epoch Group."
"What?" Elodie shot up from the bed, looking shocked, "For real? You saw the actual chairman of the Epoch Group?"
"Yeah, I'm dead sure," Xavier said, buzzing with excitement.
Ever since he ticked off the chairman, he'd been blacklisted.
He'd been dreaming of a chance to apologize and get back in the game.
"Elodie, I'm staying here tonight. I gotta find the chairman and make things right. If he forgives me, I can get my fame back and be even bigger."
Xavier saw a shot at redemption.
Elodie got serious, "Alright, make sure you apologize properly. Xavier, when you meet the chairman, you gotta be humble. Whatever he says, you agree. Even if he asks you to kneel, you do it, got it?"
"Elodie, I get it. But I'm a big star. How can I kneel in front of everyone? Can we see the chairman a bit later?"
Xavier didn't want to lose face.
Elodie nodded, "Okay, that's cool."
"By the way, Elodie, there's this fan I like. Can you bring her to me?" Xavier thought of Chloe. She was stunning, and he wanted her tonight.
"Sure, who is it? I'll figure it out."
After dinner, the classmates from Class One and Class Two hit the hot springs. The second-floor balcony had a perfect view of the hot springs.
Xavier pointed to a woman in a red bikini, "That's her, Elodie. Look at that perfect body."
Xavier was drooling over Chloe's figure.
Elodie saw Chloe and nodded, "Alright, I'll handle it. Let's head back to the room."
They went back to the room together.
Xavier wasn't the only one drooling. Everyone was stunned.
Chloe, in her bikini, was a knockout. Some shy guys couldn't even look at her without blushing.
Larry was also blown away. Even though they'd been married for a while, he'd never seen this side of her.
All the women were in swimsuits, but Larry didn't like the way the guys were ogling Chloe. She was his wife, and only he should get to look at her like that.
He quickly grabbed a towel and covered Chloe, annoyed, "Babe, why are you dressed like this?"
Chloe rolled her eyes, "Everyone's dressed like this."
The guys around them were silently cursing Larry for covering her up.
Just then, Abigail, in a white bikini, walked over. Her outfit was even more daring.
"Larry, you're such a prude. Everyone dresses like this at the beach these days."
Larry glanced at her, "I don't care about others. I just don't want Chloe being seen like this."
With that, he pulled Chloe away. "Babe, we're not doing the hot springs."
"Larry," Chloe called out.
But Larry ignored her and dragged her back.
