Chapter 60 Let's Talk
Larry left the Majestic Union and went to Frank's Mortal Clinic.
However, Frank was out and not at the clinic.
He had the clinic's key, so he unlocked the door and went in. He didn't open for business; instead, he closed the door behind him.
He went to the back room and lay down to sleep. Because he hadn't slept well these past few days, he planned to take this opportunity to catch up on some rest.
He felt like he had just fallen asleep when the phone rang.
He turned over and got up, seeing that it was Chloe calling. A faint smile appeared on his face.
He answered the phone.
On the other line, Chloe's voice came through, sounding tearful.
Hearing this, he said tenderly, "I'm at Frank's Mortal Clinic. I'll be back soon."
He knew that the Anderson family must have sent Sam back.
Even Jacob was dead; the Anderson family wasn't stupid and wouldn't dare trouble Chloe anymore.
They wouldn't dare force Chloe to divorce him, unless they wanted to die.
Larry stretched lazily.
Then he got up, walked out of the clinic, and closed the door.
After closing the door, he turned to leave. But he noticed a woman standing at the clinic's entrance.
The woman looked to be about twenty-five or twenty-six years old.
She was wearing a white dress and white high heels, with long golden hair, a slender figure, a well-proportioned body, delicate features, and fair skin. She exuded a strong presence.
She stood in front of a Ferrari, arms crossed, her beautiful eyes scrutinizing Larry as he turned to leave.
Larry saw her too. But he didn't say much and turned to leave.
Kelly spoke up, "Larry."
Larry stopped, looked at Kelly, and asked with a puzzled expression. "What?"
He scrutinized Kelly but found no memory of her, causing him to frown.
She walked over, extending her fair, slender hand. "Hello, Larry. I'm Kelly. By the way, tomorrow night is my birthday, and I'd like to invite you to my birthday party."
Larry frowned. "Are you crazy?"
He didn't know her at all, yet she was inviting him to a birthday party.
That was crazy.
He turned to leave.
"Larry, I'm Chloe's classmate." Hearing Chloe's name, Larry stopped and looked at her. "Classmate?"
"Yes, a schoolmate," Kelly smiled lightly and said, "We both went to Sunset City University. She studied fashion design, and I studied business management. By the way..."
She took out two pre-prepared invitations and handed them to Larry. "Tomorrow night, at the Sunset City Hotel. I look forward to seeing you."
Larry scrutinized Kelly.
He found it strange.
He thought, 'Same university, different majors, how did they get connected?
'Moreover, Chloe was disfigured in college, and everyone shunned her.
'Sheis so beautiful and elegant. Must bea campus beauty. Why would she now invite Chloe and me?'
But he still took the invitations and said, "I'll go back and ask Chloe. If she knows you and wants to come, I'll bring her."
After speaking, he turned and left.
Kelly stood by the Ferrari convertible, watching Larry leave.
After he left, she took out her phone and instructed, "Check on Chloe for me. Invite all her college classmates to my reunion."
A voice on the phone came. "Yes, Ms. Moore."
"Larry, Black Dragon, interesting." Kelly hung up and smiled lightly.
She was from the Moore family of Aurora Citadel.
The Moore family in Aurora Citadel was also a prominent family, with assets comparable to the Evans family and the Harper family.
After Larry took her car and went to the Ella Group, she used her connections to investigate Larry and obtained some photos from when he was awarded the title of commander.
Thus, she learned Larry's identity.
Who would have thought that one of the Five Great Marshals, the Black Dragon, highly valued by the higher-ups, would appear in Sunset City and become the Lewis family's son-in-law?
"Chloe is really lucky." Kelly was envious.
She thought Chloe didn't deserve Larry's protection.
Larry rode his electric scooter, humming a tune, heading towards the Lewis family's neighborhood.
He didn't take the main road but a shortcut.
Passing through an alley, a Jeep suddenly appeared in front of him, blocking his way.
A middle-aged man got out of the car.
The man wore a loose robe, had thick eyebrows and big eyes, and exuded the aura of someone in a high position.
Larry stopped his electric bike and looked at the man getting out of the car. It was Free King.
Free King walked over, took out a special cigarette, and tossed it to Larry.
Larry caught it.
Free King pointed to the car. "Get in, let's talk."
Larry lit the cigarette, took a deep drag, and said calmly, "There is nothing to talk about. If you have something to say, say it here. My wife is waiting for me to come home."
"What exactly are you trying to do?" Free King asked calmly.
He had only been in Sunset City for a short time and had already helped Larry deal with two problems.
He was the Free King of the Western Territory, now the head of the Five Armies, not Larry's subordinate, yet Larry kept giving him orders.
"Nothing much," Larry said indifferently.
Free King shouted, "First the Ella Group, then the Majestic Union. Larry, I know you're very powerful, but this is Sunset City, not Southwild. The tactics you use against enemies can't be used against your own people."
Facing the angry Free King, Larry remained nonchalant and said, "You can mess with me, but not my wife."
Free King took a deep breath and said, "I just hope you can stay out of trouble and not cause me any more problems. Also, I heard you went to the Four Great Families and made some of their people kneel at the Bennett family's tomb for ten days and then commit suicide, or else you'd kill them all?"
"Yes." Larry's expression turned somber. "They deserve to die."
"Even if they do, not like this. Leave this matter to me. Within three days, I'll have all the relevant people arrested and punished accordingly."
Larry looked up and stared at Free King.
Their eyes locked.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment.
"Free King, I'm warning you, stay out of my business, or I won't mind turning the Five Great Marshals into Four Great Marshals."
"Are you threatening me?"
"Yes!"
"You..." Free King was furious.
Since becoming commander, no one had dared to speak to him like this.
"I've heard you're unmatched in strength, but we've never fought..." Free King took off his shirt.
However, in that instant, a silver needle appeared in Larry's hand.
Before Free King could react, the silver needle was already at his throat.
The scene froze at that moment.
Sweat appeared on Free King's forehead.
He was the Free King of the Western Territory, a commander, and had seen all kinds of situations. But at this moment, he was scared!
He felt a chill, with cold sweat running down his back.
He knew Black Dragon was strong. But he didn't expect Black Dragon's strength to be so terrifying.
He thought, 'No wonder the higher-ups value Larry so much.'
Larry put away the silver needle, and the tension in the cardissipated.
He returned to his nonchalant demeanor and said calmly, "Stay out of the Four Great Families' business. If you really want to get involved, help me find the Artwork of Moonlit."
Larry left a parting remark, turned, and rode his electric bike away, whistling, under Free King's gaze.
After he was far away, Free King couldn't help but take a few steps back.
A man got out of the car.
He was Free King's confidant, Howard. "Free King..."
Free King raised his hand slightly, interrupting Howard. "I didn't expect his strength to be so terrifying. If we really fought, he could kill me with just a silver needle. Black Dragon, truly lives up to his name."
He took a deep breath.
