Chapter 175 Reversal
Chloe had on a serious expression, thinking, 'How could so many things go wrong at a birthday party?'
She was also trying to think of a solution. She wanted to call the mysterious Mr. Bennett from Sunset City, but she didn't have his number.
"Bring Larry to me," Percival ordered.
The Martins instantly panicked and quickly retreated. Scott and Sam also kept their distance. Maria pulled Chloe back.
Meanwhile, a dozen men in black stepped forward and surrounded Larry.
Larry looked at the Martins and said nonchalantly, "You still have time to leave now. Otherwise, you won't be able to leave later. You don't know who my wife Chloe is, do you? She has powerful connections. Do you know the mysterious Mr. Bennett in Sunset City? He's a very influential figure there."
Percival laughed. "The mysterious Mr. Bennett? No one can save you today, no matter who comes."
"Really?" At that moment, a middle-aged man walked into the Martin residence.
Everyone turned to look. He was a man in his forties, dressed in a simple blue suit. He looked ordinary, but he had the demeanor of a leader. Two men followed behind him.
Seeing this man, many people's expressions changed, especially Emrys.
As a member of the Nightshade family and the heir to a fortune worth hundreds of millions of dollars, he knew the identity of the man before him. He was the leader of the Neon City military district.
"General," Emrys called out, a grim expression on his face.
Neil walked over, looked at the hundreds of people gathered in the Martin residence, and his face instantly darkened. He shouted, "What's going on here?"
Larry immediately said, "These people are causing trouble at the Martin residence. He seems to be from the prominent Nightshade family. And the other seems a bit shady, possibly knowing some big shots. There's been some manipulation going on behind the scenes to have all the Martins fired from their workplaces."
"Really? Is that so?" Neil looked at Emrys and Ignatius, snorted coldly, then walked over to Larry and smiled slightly at him.
Then he walked over to Chloe, smiling. "Chloe, I'm sorry I'm late. Are you okay? Were you scared?"
Chloe was slightly stunned. She had met Neil a few times. Once at Victor's birthday party, and another time in Sunset City at CureAll Drugstore. This was the third time.
"General," she called out, looking both surprised and honored.
After greeting Chloe, Neil turned and scanned Percival, Emrys, Ambrose, Ignatius, Lucian, and the others.
With just one look, these people were terrified.
Emrys couldn't hold it any longer. "General, this has nothing to do with me. Percival forced me to come. It has nothing to do with me."
Percival was dumbfounded, pondering, 'Emrys is the heir of the Nightshade family, a significant figure in Neon City. Why is he so scared? Who is this man he calls 'Neil?''
Larry quickly stepped forward and said, "General, he's the one threatening the Martin family, saying he can easily bankrupt them."
"Very well." Neil's face darkened. He immediately took out his phone, dialed a number, and ordered, "Notify the relevant departments to thoroughly investigate the Nightshade family. If there's any issue, shut them down. If necessary, seal them off."
Emrys was sweating in fear. The Nightshades had a fortune worth hundreds of millions, but to get to this point, there were bound to be some shady dealings. If there were to be a thorough investigation, the Nightshades would be screwed.
Emrys continued, "General, this has nothing to do with me. It's all Percival's fault, that bastard."
However, no matter what Emrys said, Neil remained unmoved. He looked at Ambrose.
Larry spoke again, "General, this guy seems to run some security company. He said his company has over thirty thousand people and that they would harass the Martins non-stop, claiming that the Martins will never dare to step out of their house in the future."
Neil's face darkened. "I didn't expect such a security company to exist within Neon City. They are really audacious. It seems this security company isn't legal either; it needs to be investigated."
Hearing this, Ambrose's face turned pale, his legs giving out. "General, it has nothing to do with me."
Neil instructed the man beside him, "Call the relevant departments and arrest everyone causing trouble at the Martin residence."
The Martins were completely stunned by this scene. 'Who is this person? Why are all these big shots so scared of him?'
Larry then pointed at Ignatius and said, "General, this one is quite powerful. It seems he has some background because all the Martins were suspended from work because of him."
He then pointed at Cormac and said, "Hurry up and greet the General."
Cormac was still confused. He had only seen Neil on TV before. He didn't expect the military district leader to come to the Martin residence in person.
Larry's call brought him back to reality. He quickly walked over, standing to attention while saluting, and said loudly, "Captain Cormac Martin of the Neon City SWAT team, reporting to General."
Larry casually said, "Cormac was suspended from SWAT."
Cormac looked embarrassed.
Larry spoke nonchalantly, but with each word, it felt like a sharp sword was piercing Ignatius's heart. Now he knew not only was he screwed, but even his superior was screwed.
"General, I am guilty," Ignatius cried out loudly.
Neil said to another person beside him, "Investigate his background. Anyone involved will not be spared."
Hearing this, Ignatius fainted from fear.
The Martins were extremely shocked. The situation had reversed so quickly that they couldn't even react.
After resolving these matters, Neil came to Rowan, shook his hand, and said, "Mr. Martin, I've been wanting to visit you, but I've been too busy."
Rowan was so excited that he almost cried. Even if he hadn't met Neil, he had seen him on TV.
"General." Rowan was excited, trembling all over.
"Mr. Martin, you've trained a lot of talent for the country." Neil began to chat with Rowan.
Meanwhile, Larry came to Chloe, gave her a thumbs up, and said, "Honey, you're amazing. Even the General respects you."
"Me? Respects me?" Chloe was also a bit confused, pondering, 'It's one thing for big shots in the business world to respect me. But why would even a military big shot respect me? Who exactly is the mysterious Mr. Bennett? What kind of person is he?'
Neil's arrival easily resolved the Martin family's troubles.
Neil chatted with Rowan about some military matters, while the young members of the Martin family stood aside.
At this moment, Sam started to show off again, boasting to the young members of the Martin family, "See that? Chloe is just that amazing."
Everyone looked at Chloe with a hint of awe in their eyes.
Meanwhile, Larry sat aside, smoking. Helen occasionally glanced at him.
Everyone was under the impression that Neil was here for Chloe. They would never expect him to actually be here for Larry.
