Chapter 260 If There's Anything, Come at Me
The manager of the Sparkling Star Hotel, Daxton, glared at the security guard sprawled on the ground, fuming. "I don't care who you are, you mess with someone at the Sparkling Star Hotel, you're done for."
He whipped out his phone and dialed, "Boss, we've got trouble at the restaurant. It's Larry, the Lewis Family's son-in-law."
The place was packed with diners, but as soon as things got heated, they bolted, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.
A few brave souls hung back, watching from a safe distance, some even sneaking out their phones to record the chaos.
Chloe looked helpless and desperate. Larry was great in so many ways, but he just couldn't stay out of fights.
She knew he was standing up for her, but his brawls always brought trouble to the Lewis Family.
If he hadn't thrown down at the Carter Family's place, the Lewis Family wouldn't be in this mess.
Helen, on the other hand, stayed calm. She knew who Larry really was.
Even though he quit, he was still the secret boss of the Epoch Group. A few rich guys were nothing to him.
The Sparkling Star Hotel was owned by Francis from the Martinez Family.
Today, a big shot from the North was meeting with the heads of the Carter and Martinez Families.
Caius from the Martinez Family, Callahan Carter, the Carter Family's current butler, and Francis, the hotel owner, were all gathered on the third floor.
Across from them sat a rugged man with a full beard, a stunning woman in a black dress by his side.
This was Xerxes and Esmeralda. Standing behind them was Yorick.
Xerxes eyed the group and said calmly, "I heard you went after the Lewis Family, retaliated, and bankrupted them."
Caius frowned. Why was this Northern big shot asking about this?
Callahan's face darkened, and he said coldly, "The Lewis Family deserves to be wiped out. Because of them, Timothy died horribly, and Justin's stuck in a hospital bed for life. This is just the start; I'll destroy every last one of them."
Xerxes didn't expect the hatred to run this deep.
He was here to settle this feud and repay Larry for saving Esmeralda.
"Larry, the Lewis Family's son-in-law, saved my daughter Esmeralda's life. Can you let this go for my sake?"Xerxes laid out his reason for being there.
Caius's face darkened too, and he said, "Xerxes, do you even know who Larry is?"
Xerxes got curious, "No, I don't. Fill me in."
Caius said, "He's the demoted Black Dragon. When he was in charge, he crushed the Five-State Business Alliance and bought NextGen City dirt cheap."
Callahan nodded, "And now, Larry's caused the Carter Family huge losses. This grudge isn't going away."
Xerxes suddenly got it.
"Black Dragon's supposed to be a big deal and a medical whiz. No wonder he doesn't care about a billion dollars; he's the secret boss of the Epoch Group."
Esmeralda was shocked too. She didn't expect her savior to be Black Dragon, the former commander of Southwild.
Wasn't he supposed to be dead? Didn't he die outside Cedar Grove in Southwild? The whole country mourned just a few days ago.
After learning Larry's true identity, Xerxes realized this grudge was a tough one. If it were him, he wouldn't let Larry off either.
This was a grudge that couldn't be resolved.
Even though he had some pull in the North, the Five-State Business Alliance was no joke.
He thought for a bit and then asked, "How can we settle this?"
"This can't be settled."
"Absolutely not."
Callahan and Caius said at the same time.
"In that case, pretend I was never here." Xerxes didn't push it. He stood up and said, "Let's go."
Just then, Francis got a call.
"Got it." After hanging up, he said, "Dad, there's trouble at the restaurant."
"Who is it?" Caius asked.
Francis glanced at Xerxes, who was about to leave, hesitated, and said, "It's Larry."
Caius slammed his hand on the table and shot up, "That bastard, now he's causing trouble at our restaurant. Let's go check it out."
Xerxes heard this and frowned.
Esmeralda tugged at Xerxes, pouting, "Dad, you promised Larry would be my personal doctor."
Xerxes looked troubled. If it were anyone else, he could handle it.
But this was Black Dragon, the former commander of Southwild, one of the Five Great Marshals of the Summer Nation.
Even though he had stepped down, he was still the secret boss of the Epoch Group, worth just as much as Xerxes.
"Esmeralda."
"I don't care." Esmeralda started to throw a tantrum.
"Alright, let's go down and check it out first."
Down on the first floor.
Larry looked at Fabian, Robert, and the restaurant manager Daxton, and said calmly, "I want to see how you plan to finish me."
"I'm sorry." Chloe stepped forward, bowing and apologizing, "Robert, Fabian, I'm really sorry. I apologize on behalf of Larry."
"Honey, what are you doing?" Larry pulled Chloe back, looking annoyed, "They should be the ones apologizing."
Fabian snapped, "Chloe, do you think an apology will settle this? Larry's gonna pay."
Just then, a group of people came down from upstairs.
Daxton quickly ran to Francis, pointing at Larry, "Boss, it's him, the Lewis Family's son-in-law Larry."
Chloe's face went pale when she saw who was coming.
She was in despair. The Carter and the Martinez Families were still gunning for the Lewis Family, and now they had angered the Martinez Family again.
Larry also saw the people coming. He hadn't gone looking for trouble with the Martinez Family yet, and now they had come to him.
Today, he was going to put an end to the Lewis Family's troubles.
"Wife, you should leave first."
"How can I leave?" Chloe was about to cry in panic.
She knelt down, trying to apologize to the Martinez Family members coming over.
Larry pulled her up forcefully, instructing, "Helen, take Chloe back first."
"Okay."
Helen nodded without worry.
"Chloe, let's go." She pulled Chloe away.
"Larry," Chloe called out.
Larry smiled slightly, "Go back, I'll be fine."
The Martinez Family members didn't stop them, allowing Helen to take Chloe away.
Francis looked at the other security guards who had arrived and instructed, "Clear out the guests. All expenses today will be covered by the Sparkling Star Hotel."
Esmeralda quickly ran over, grabbing Larry's hand with an excited expression on her face, "Larry, it's so good to see you again. So you were the former commander of Southwild, Black Dragon. I'm your fan."
Larry gently pushed Esmeralda's hand away.
"Esmeralda, do I know you well? I'm a married man, so please keep your distance."
Esmeralda didn't care about such things.
"Mr. Bennett." Xerxes walked over, extending his hand, "Hello, I'm Xerxes, Esmeralda's father. Thank you so much today; otherwise, Esmeralda would have been in danger."
Larry waved his hand slightly, "It's nothing."
Callahan gritted his teeth, glaring at Larry, "Larry."
Larry looked at him and asked calmly, "And who are you?"
Callahan shouted word by word, "Callahan, the little brother of Timothy, and the uncle of Justin."
Larry responded with a nod.
"I was about to go after the Carter and Martinez Families, but now you've come to me. Let's settle this once and for all."
The Carter Family and the Martinez Family had been targeting the Lewis Family these past few days.
Larry had planned to deal with these troubles after the medical conference. Since they met today, he decided to settle it now.
The atmosphere was tense as soon as both sides met.
Xerxes stepped forward in time, trying to mediate, "Everyone, could you give me some face? Let's sit down and talk this out."
"Impossible." Larry was the first to speak, then took a step forward.
In an instant, he appeared in front of Callahan, grabbed him, and lifted him up, shouting, "If you have a problem, come to me. Why are you retaliating against the Lewis Family?"
He lifted Callahan and threw him several feet away. Callahan fell hard to the ground, screaming in pain.
Before the security guards could react, Larry quickly took action, knocking Francis and Caius to the ground.
The security guards then rushed forward. But they were quickly knocked down as well.
A minute later, everyone in the restaurant was lying on the ground. Only a few people were still standing.
Larry looked at the people lying on the ground and said coldly, "Target me if you want, but if you go after the Lewis Family and Chloe, don't blame me for being ruthless. Lift the ban on the Lewis Family immediately, or tomorrow will be your last day."
Larry raised his hand, and silver needles shot out, piercing accurately into Callahan, Francis, Caius, and others.
They fell to the ground, screaming in agony.
Larry smiled slightly at Xerxes, "We'll meet again."
With that, Larry turned and left.
