Chapter 434 Disguised as Paisley
When Chloe found out that Larry had been captured, she grew anxious and looked at Richard with anticipation.
Richard sat nearby, his old face deep in thought, lost in his own world.
After a while, he finally looked at Chloe.
Feeling uneasy under Richard's gaze, Chloe's face showed a hint of wariness. "Mr. Bennett, why are you looking at me like that?"
Richard smiled at Chloe. "I have a plan."
"A plan? What kind of plan?"
"Just wait here."
Richard got up and left.
Chloe waited, her nerves on edge.
About half an hour later, Richard returned.
He held a mask in his hand and said, "Come here."
Chloe walked over, looking at Richard with confusion.
Richard placed the mask on Chloe's face, and her appearance changed instantly. Chloe picked up a nearby mirror and saw that her face had transformed.
The new face was stunningly beautiful, with an ethereal quality.
"This is incredible..."
Richard smiled and said, "From now on, your name is Paisley Bennett."
"Paisley?" Chloe was taken aback.
Richard nodded. "Yes, Paisley. Remember your identity. You are a member of the Bennett family, Cody's granddaughter. Tonight, you will take the four guardians of the Cabinet Room to the Powell family to demand Larry's release."
"Can I really do this?" Chloe felt a bit timid.
She knew what kind of power the Powell family held. Last night had already been nerve-wracking for her, and she barely made it through. She feared she wouldn't be able to handle it again tonight.
Richard patted her shoulder and said, "Whether we can save Larry depends on you. Once you rescue Larry, you can return to Sunset City, and Larry will likely return there too."
"Okay." Chloe nodded firmly.
"I'll get you an outfit." Richard left again.
This time, he returned two hours later with a vintage dress and some jewelry.
He handed the dress to Chloe and told her to change in the room.
After changing into the dress and accessorizing with the jewelry, Chloe's demeanor completely transformed. She became a different person.
"Remember, once you get Larry out, don't linger at the Powell family estate, and don't talk much with Larry. Just get him out safely," Richard reminded Chloe of the details again.
He was worried Chloe might mess things up and reminded her repeatedly.
Chloe carefully memorized every word Richard said.
She spent the entire day in the hotel, practicing her walk and speech.
Richard also showed her some photos to familiarize her with the Powell family members.
Because the real Paisley knew the Powell family, not recognizing them would blow her cover.
Night fell quickly.
In the hotel room.
Richard asked, "Do you remember everything?"
Chloe nodded. "Yes, I remember."
"Go ahead."
"Yes." Chloe left the room.
After Chloe left, Richard's expression turned serious. He checked the time on his phone and followed her out.
In the suburbs of Aurora Citadel, at the Powell family headquarters.
It was a sprawling estate.
The estate was brightly lit.
In an open area within the estate, dozens of people had gathered.
Leading them was Amos, the head of the Powell family, along with Logan and other important members of the Powell family. There were also the four masters of The Four Currents and Logan's carefully trained Elemental Vanguard sisters.
Dozens of Powell family members were waiting for outsiders to arrive.
They didn't know who would come to the Powell family tonight to demand Larry's release.
But they knew that tonight's events would impact the future of Summer Nation.
On the ground in front of them lay a man.
The man was injured, barely alive, unable to even stand.
It was Larry.
Larry had been injured by Rain from The Four Currents. His wounds hadn't been treated, and he hadn't eaten all day, leaving him very weak.
Larry lay on the ground, looking at the dozens of people in front of him, unsure of what the Powell family intended to do.
"It's almost 9 PM, and no one from the Bennett family has shown up. Have they given up on Larry?" an important member of the Powell family asked.
Amos, sitting in a chair, raised his hand and looked at his watch. "No rush, let's wait a bit longer. If no one comes by midnight, we'll kill this guy."
"I hope no one comes," Logan said.
He knew that if someone from the Bennett family did come, it would mean the Bennett family was connected to the Cabinet Room, and everything Larry had done was under their orders.
This would mean the Bennett family was making a move.
The Powell family members waited patiently.
Footsteps echoed.
Everyone looked up simultaneously.
The estate's gate opened.
A woman walked in, followed by four men in black robes and masks.
The woman wore a white dress and had long blonde hair.
Her features were delicate, her skin fair, adorned with pearl flowers in her hair. She walked gracefully, her steps light.
All eyes of the Powell family members were on the woman.
Seeing her, Amos, Logan, and the important members of the Powell family grew serious.
"Mr. Amos Powell, my grandfather, couldn't come, so he sent me to the Powell family," she said as she approached, stopping in front of them. She glanced at the barely alive Larry on the ground, then scanned the Powell family members. "I'm taking Larry with me. Any objections?"
Amos stood up, staring at Paisley. "Paisley, is the Cabinet Room really the work of the Bennett family?"
Logan glared at the four men in black robes behind Paisley. "It was these four who stopped me last night, allowing Larry to kill Wystan."
The Powell family members all stood up at once.
The atmosphere grew tense, on the brink of conflict.
Chloe was extremely nervous.
She had never experienced such a situation before.
But she knew she couldn't show it.
She looked at the Powell family members and said calmly, "Alistair was involved in illegal activities while in office. The state needed to remove him, and Larry was just enforcing the law. The Powell family, as an ancient family, should not protect Alistair. This is a grave mistake. The four great families have ancestral rules not to interfere with external affairs. Alistair's position was already a violation, and the Powell family protecting him is another violation."
She spoke as if it were a trivial matter.
"What about him?" a Powell family member pointed at Larry on the ground. "Isn't he also a Bennett family member in office?"
"Him?" Chloe, disguised as Paisley, glanced at Larry. "He is a descendant of Richard, who was expelled from the Bennett family thirty years ago. Strictly speaking, he is not a Bennett family member. But he has Bennett blood, and the Bennett family cannot ignore his danger."
She asked again, "Mr. Amos Powell, any objections to me taking him?"
Amos's face grew serious.
Paisley's presence represented the Bennett family.
If he didn't release Larry, it would offend the Bennett family.

Amos raised his hand.
A powerful force emanated from his palm.
The force lifted Larry off the ground, suspending him five feet in the air.
Amos struck Larry several times with his force.
Larry screamed in pain.
Then he fell to the ground, unconscious, his fate uncertain.
"You..." Chloe's face darkened.
She took a few steps back.
The four men in black robes behind her stepped forward, flying into the air.
The Powell family's The Four Currents also sprang into action.
