Chapter 86 His Name Is Elijah Nichols
Who did Helen see?
Larry, the Lewis family's son-in-law, the one everyone said was a useless guy who relied on his wife. And now he was having dinner with General Howard, one of Free King's men?
Helen was momentarily stunned.
She covered her gaping mouth with her hand, her face full of shock.
Hearing the exclamation, Larry turned to look and saw Helen standing there, covering her mouth, looking shocked.
What was wrong with Helen?
Seeing him shouldn't be that surprising.
Larry quickly understood, glanced at Howard, and instantly got it.
He stood up and said, "Helen, what a coincidence, you're here too. Have you eaten? Come join us. By the way, let me introduce you. This is Elijah Nichols, a good friend from the orphanage. We haven't seen each other in years, so we decided to have a meal together."
Howard was taken aback, glanced at Larry, and then quickly caught on. He stood up and smiled. "Hello, I'm Howard."
Helen exclaimed.
At that moment, she was extremely excited.
She thought, 'Howard is talking to me, what should I do? I'm so nervous!'
At the next table, Robert saw Helen greeting Howard and was also taken aback.
He had just been bragging about knowing General Howard.
Now, Helen had met the real General Howard. What should he do?
If he backed down now, he would lose the opportunity forever.
Robert mustered up his courage, walked over to Howard, and with a respectful face said, "Mr. Cruz, hello, I'm Robert, from the White family..."
Howard raised an eyebrow. "Who are you? Get lost."
Robert was terrified, quickly grabbed Helen, and said, "Helen, what are you doing? Don't make the General angry, let's go."
He pulled the stunned Helen away, whispering, "I'll find a chance to introduce you to General Howard later."
"Larry," Helen snapped out of it and called out.
Larry was sitting, and Robert, focused on Howard, hadn't noticed Larry.
When Helen called out, he stopped and said, "Larry?"
Helen shook off Robert's hand, walked over, pulled up a chair, and sat next to Larry with a bright smile. "Larry, do you mind if I join you?"
"Of course not," Larry said nonchalantly.
Robert was dumbfounded when he saw Larry.
He thought, 'Is this the Lewis family's son-in-law, Larry?
'How could he be having dinner with Howard?'
Robert's mind was in a whirl, unable to process it.
Helen, sitting next to Larry, kept her eyes on Howard, her expression full of admiration.
Being stared at by a beautiful woman made Howard a bit embarrassed.
If it were an ordinary woman, he wouldn't care, but... this was Black Dragon's sister-in-law.
"Why are you staring at me?" Howard touched his face and muttered, "Do I have something on my face?"
Helen looked at him, her heart racing, blood pumping. She never dreamed that she would meet her idol, General Howard, so soon after arriving in Sunset City. She had always dreamed of taking a photo with the General.
"Stop staring, let's eat." Larry picked up his fork and started eating.
Robert, standing nearby, was a bit dazed.
Seeing Helen sit down, he took a deep breath and walked over again, sitting next to Helen with a smile. "Helen, do you know him?"
Larry glanced at the seated Robert, raised an eyebrow. "Helen, who is this?"
Helen, with her eyes only on Howard, shook her head. "I don't know."
Howard slammed his hand on the table.
The sudden action made Helen jump up in fright.
Robert was so scared he fell off his chair.
Howard said coldly, "Don't make me say it again, get lost."
Robert didn't dare stay and left in a hurry.
Helen was about to leave too.
Larry pulled her back down and said with a smile, "I wasn't talking to you. Sit down and eat."
Helen glanced at Larry and then sat down.
"Are you really General Howard?" Helen asked, looking at Howard with admiration.
Howard glanced at Larry.
Larry immediately laughed and said, "Helen, his name is Elijah, not a general."
"Yes," Howard quickly nodded and said, "Right, Helen, I'm not a general. My name is Howard... no, I mean Elijah. I just look a bit like Howard."
Howard was speaking incoherently.
Helen immediately laughed.
She didn't expect that the imposing general she saw on TV could have such a cute side.
She knew that the person in front of her was indeed General Howard.
She had watched the replay of the Free King's succession ceremony countless times. She wouldn't mistake him.
She definitely wouldn't mistake him; this was Howard.
Elijah? She knew that was a lie.
"Mr. Cruz, I really admire you. Can I take a photo with you?" Helen blushed and mustered up the courage to make the request.
Howard looked at Larry.
Larry smiled and said, "If she wants a photo, let her have one. It's no big deal."
Howard then nodded. "Alright, let's take a photo."
Helen was overjoyed and immediately walked over to sit next to Howard, but she didn't dare sit too close. She quickly took out her phone and snapped a selfie.
After one photo, she felt it wasn't enough. She moved closer to Howard, almost touching him, and struck another pose for another photo.
She kept changing poses, taking dozens of photos around Howard.
Larry, meanwhile, was focused on eating.
He hadn't had breakfast and was starving.
After taking dozens of photos, Helen was finally satisfied, her face flushed. "Mr. Cruz, thank you. You really are my idol. Seeing you, I got so excited and couldn't help but take so many photos. I hope you don't mind."
"No problem..." Howard replied with an awkward smile.
Larry said, "Elijah, aren't you going to eat? If not, you can leave."
"Okay." Howard, feeling relieved, quickly stood up and left.
Helen called out.
However, Howard was already gone.
Helen said, "Larry, what are you doing? That's General Howard, my idol. You can't just let him leave."
Then, her expression changed. "Can you command General Howard?"
Larry said, "He's not Howard. I told you, his name is Elijah, and he's not a general."
Helen sat down and looked at him.
She thought, 'This useless Larry really has an air of mystery about him.'
She remembered seeing Howard at the airport before, Howard seemed to have smiled at Larry.
"Larry, are you one of the Five Great Marshals?" Helen exclaimed.
The Five Great Marshals were not widely known, and many had never heard of them. But as a military enthusiast, Helen had heard of them.
Howard was a subordinate of the Free King. Larry was clearly not the Free King, but he could command Howard, so Larry must be one of the Five Great Marshals.
Larry was also stunned.
He thought, 'Helen has quite the keen insight.
'Just from seeing Howard, she can figure out that I'm one of the Five Great Marshals.'
"Yes," Larry said with a smile, "That's right, I am one of the Five Great Marshals."
Robert, who had been watching from the shadows, saw Howard leave and then walked over.
He sat down in Howard's previous seat, looked at Larry with disdain, and said, "If you're one of the Five Great Marshals, then I must be the Aurora Emperor!"
Helen immediately lost interest.
She had heard of Larry before. She thought, 'Although he is a retired soldier, he couldn't possibly be one of the Five Great Marshals.
'One of the Five Great Marshals would never become the Lewis family's son-in-law.'
