Chapter 180 A Different Identity
Larry couldn't figure out what Chloe was thinking.
He wasn't quite sure if Chloe had really fallen for another man.
If she had, what should he do?
To confirm his suspicions, he came up with a test for Chloe. He would use a different identity—the mysterious Mr. Bennett—to interact with her and understand her true thoughts.
He didn't divulge any of this to Frank. After ending the call, he patiently waited at home.
Chloe had just left the Serpent Group feeling depressed and was on her way home when she received a call from William.
"Miss Lewis, the chairman said he can meet you tonight. He'll be in touch to send you the details," he said.
Chloe was thrilled. The call had given her something to look forward to. She hummed a little tune as she entered her home. Larry was sitting on the couch. He watched Chloe walk in, and couldn't help but ask, "Honey, what happened? Why are you so happy?"
Chloe couldn't hide her excitement, but she couldn't share the news with Larry. She shook her head slightly and said, "It's nothing. I'm going to take a shower before I have to head out again."
After saying that, she went to the bedroom. Larry saw nothing amiss, so he didn't ask any further questions.
Soon, Chloe came out wearing a sexy, glamorous dress. She had also made herself up meticulously.
Larry smiled as he teased her, "Honey, you look so gorgeous. Are you going on a date?"
Chloe blushed slightly, and she hurriedly explained, "Not at all. I'm going to meet a major client at the office."
Larry smiled.
"I'm heading out. I won't be back for dinner."
"Okay!" Larry responded.
Chloe's behavior confirmed to him that she had definitely fallen for the mysterious Mr. Bennett.
He gently massaged his temples. How did things get so complicated?
After Chloe left, Larry didn't stay long either and went to Frank's Mortal Clinic.
He hadn't been gone long when Sam and Mindy returned.
The two entered the house and sat on the couch.
"Honey," Mindy said, clinging to Sam's arm and pouting. "Look, the Lewis family is about to move into a big villa, and my family is still cramped in a small apartment. You have to help me."
"How can I help?" Sam said helplessly. "That money isn't mine."
"Doesn't Maria have a lot of money? As her son, she should give money to you if you ask for some. And Chloe..." Mindy whispered, "In Neon City, the head of the Martinez family gave Chloe two billion dollars. Two billion dollars!"
Sam glanced at her. "What do you mean?"
Mindy whispered, "Just ask Chloe for some of that money. If she turns you down, we'll steal it."
"No way!" Sam immediately refused.
"Are you stupid?" Mindy said sternly. "She's your sister. If we steal her card and secretly transfer the money to our account, it wouldn't matter even if she caught us in the act.I doubt Chloe would call 911."
Mindy's words weakened Sam's resolve. She was right. Caius had given Chloe two billion dollars. It shouldn't be a big deal if he asked her for a few hundred million.
With that much money, they could have everything.
"Honey, we need to plan this carefully. We don't have the account password, so we need to find a way to get it first."
"Okay."
The two huddled together, discussing the matter.
Meanwhile, Larry had arrived at the Mortal Clinic.
"Larry!" As soon as he entered, a woman in her twenties, wearing a thin shirt and denim skirt, greeted him with a smile.
It was Amelia.
Amelia had been staying at Frank's for a few days and had witnessed Larry's subordinates flattening the CloudPharma factory.
Over the past few days, she had also learned a bit about Larry's identity. Although she didn't know the details, she knew Larry was a big shot from Southwild.
Larry nodded slightly at Amelia and entered the house.
Frank immediately approached and called out, "Larry!"
"Where's the materials I asked for?" Larry asked.
Frank pointed to a box on the floor and said, "There, it just arrived."
Larry walked over, picked up the box, and went into the inner room to start working.
Outside, Amelia clung to Frank's shoulder, almost pressing herself against him, and asked with a smile, "What is Larry doing?"
Frank shrugged and said, "How would I know?"
In the inner room, Larry began making a human skin mask. He was skilled in medicine, making it an easy task for him.
He made it to look like himself from ten years ago. At that time, he had been burned and disfigured. After recovering, his appearance had changed.
Now he made a mask of his face from ten years ago.
Once it was done, he headed to the Serpent Group.
In the Chairman's office there, his appearance transformed dramatically as he wore an expensive suit and luxury watch. Additionally, his self-made mask changed his appearance to that of a handsome young man.
He appeared very attractive, completely different from before. Seeing this face in the mirror, he remembered many things from the past.
He thought of the Bennett family, his family. He also thought of Abigail, the girl he had fallen in love with in high school.
"Chairman," a pleasant voice came from behind.
The voice brought him back too reality, and he turned around.
Sarah stood behind him.
She was dressed in business attire—a white shirt paired with a black pencil skirt. Her long black hair fell over her shoulders, and her figure was curvy like an hourglass.
He nodded slightly, responding to Sarah.
She took out a brand-new phone and handed it to him with both hands, "This is the new phone."
Larry took it.
"Chairman, do you have any other instructions?"
Larry waved his hand slightly and said, "You may go."
"As you wish." Sarah nodded, bowed, and left.
Larry sat in the leather office chair and checked the time. It was only 4 PM. There was still some time left before evening.
He took out his phone again and called William.
"William, get me a car."
"What kind of car, Larry?"
"The best you can find."
He wasn't playing the role of the Lewis family's son-in-law, but the billionaire chairman of the Serpent Group, a billionaire. He couldn't be low-key, especially since he was going to meet his wife, Chloe.
"Okay, I'll arrange it right away."
