Chapter 296: Totally Defeated

Cormac was very arrogant.

Not only did he challenge the top 100 traditional medicine practitioners at this medical conference, but he also challenged the entire nation on live television.

He was single-handedly challenging all the medical practitioners in the Summer Nation.

"He's too arrogant."

"Someone needs to put this jerk in his place."

The internet was filled with angry comments.

"I'll challenge you."

As a voice sounded from the audience, an elderly man stepped onto the stage.

He was a doctor from a clinic on Medical Street.

In his seventies, he had been studying medicine since his teens and had been a doctor for over fifty years. In his traditional view, their medical skills should never be insulted by outsiders.

He stepped onto the stage.

The first match began.

Under the watchful eyes of the national audience, this doctor started his competition against Cormac.

However, the result was a complete defeat for the doctor.

For every challenger, there was always another.

In the following time, people kept coming up to challenge, but they all failed.

Cormac excelled in every aspect.

Cormac crushed the doctors from Medical Street, including the top 100 participants in the medical competition.

It was already 2 PM.

Everyone hadn't eaten yet.

They were waiting, waiting for someone to defeat Cormac.

But Cormac was hungry.

After defeating another opponent, he loudly said, "I'm hungry. I'm going to eat first, and I'll be back after feeding myself. I keep my word; anyone can challenge me before midnight tonight."

With that, he walked away under countless gazes.

The audience in the venue also slowly dispersed.

Larry and Chloe left together.

A private room in a restaurant downtown.

Chloe and Larry were sitting face to face.

Chloe felt a bit embarrassed as she noticed Larry kept looking at her. She gently brushed her hair, showing a shy expression.

Larry was puzzled.

Why did Chloe never show this expression when she was with him, but now she looked shy when staying with another "him"?

"Chloe."

Chloe snapped out of it and looked up at Larry.

She saw that handsome face and was captivated by it.

'If I could marry him, waking up to this face every morning would be wonderful.' She thought to herself.

Thinking of this, her face turned red.

"What's wrong? Why are you blushing?"

"Nothing, I'm not." Chloe hurriedly lowered her head and asked, "What do you want to say?"

Larry said calmly, "Actually, your husband Larry is a good person. He was wrongfully accused."

Upon hearing this, Chloe's face darkened, and she said, "Mr. Bennett, don't defend him. I'm very disappointed in him for what he did."

Chloe knew some dating tricks; in front of her crush, she should never mention her boyfriend or ex-husband, and she should always belittle and criticize them.

"If he were as capable as you, Mr. Bennett, I wouldn't be so worried about him. Forget it, let's not talk about him. Mr. Bennett, what exactly happened in Cedar Grove? Why did the news of your death spread, but you're fine?"

Larry didn't want to bring up these matters anymore.

He looked at Chloe, wanting to speak something for himself, but Chloe seemed to have made up her mind that he was a jerk.

He sighed deeply.

"Mr. Bennett, what's wrong? Why did you sigh?"

"Nothing, let's eat."

Larry didn't say anything more, and he picked up his utensils to eat.

At this moment, his image didn't match his attire at all.

Seeing how he ate, Chloe couldn't help but think of her husband, Larry. Their eating habits were exactly the same.

Could it be that all soldiers from Southwild eat like this?

Chloe was puzzled.

But she didn't ask much and picked up her utensils to eat quietly.

After the meal, the two of them returned to the Medical Street conference hall.

It had only been a little over an hour since they went out to eat and came back.

But when they returned, everyone in the venue had already come back. They didn't have the mood to eat, so they only ate a little and returned in a hurry.

Some wealthy people didn't even eat and had sat together discussing for over an hour.

But after an hour of intense discussion, they couldn't come up with a solution. Faced with Cormac's superior medical skills, they had no way out for now.

In the afternoon, the challenges continued.

The top 100 doctors took turns challenging Cormac, but they were all defeated, completely crushed.

Gradually, other doctors stopped going on stage to embarrass themselves.

"What, are there no more challengers?"

"If no one comes up to challenge anymore, can I be declared the winner?" Cormac's voice echoed.

The two hosts had little to say.

They were very frustrated.

"Is there anyone else who wants to challenge?" Melanie, with a look of unwillingness on her pretty face, looked at some highly respected old doctors in the front row and couldn't help but ask, "Seniors, are you just going to give up like this? Matthew, you still have one more chance. Go up and challenge again."

"Yes," Cosimo also spoke up.

All the cameras turned and focused on Matthew.

Matthew had a helpless look on his face.

He had already competed with Cormac once in the morning, and he had watched many matches since then. He had a good understanding of Cormac's medical skills.

In terms of medical skills, he couldn't beat Cormac.

Even if he competed a hundred times, the result would be the same.

"Dr. Rogers, say something."

"Matthew, it's all up to you now."

"You must have underperformed in the morning."

"Compete again."

"Dr. Rogers, you've held the title of miracle doctor for twenty years."

Many people spoke up.

Matthew was the last hope.

Matthew shook his head slightly and said, "It's no use. I can't beat him in medical skills. He is indeed better than me. Even if we compete a hundred times, I still can't win."

Upon hearing this, everyone was disappointed.

And on the stage, Cormac laughed, "Matthew, you've admitted defeat. Does this mean you agree to my earlier request?"

Seeing Cormac's expression, everyone felt disgusted.

If this weren't a public place, someone would have rushed onto the stage to beat him up.

Matthew glanced at Cormac and said, "Your medical skills are indeed better than mine, but that doesn't prove what you said earlier is true."

"Matthew, what do you mean? We agreed in the morning that if you couldn't defeat me, you would admit it. Now you want to go back on your word?" Cormac's face darkened.

He looked at the media reporters and cameras, and loudly said, "People of the Summer Nation, your medical skills are indeed poor. You learn our country's medical skills but don't grasp the essence. Matthew learned a bit of technique and calls himself a miracle doctor, charging millions of dollars or more for a consultation. At such high prices, can ordinary people afford to see a doctor?"

"The purpose of our country's medical skills is to treat patients. Next, the Medical Excellence Alliance of Athendonis will set up a clinic on Sunset City Medical Street. As the president of the Medical Excellence Alliance, I promise that we will not charge exorbitant registration fees, allowing everyone to get the treatment."

"Moreover, our medicines will generally be cheaper by over 30% than those of the major clinics on Medical Street." Cormac kept talking.

Although this was beneficial to the people of the Summer Nation, they all hated him.

Larry saw that it was about time and said to Chloe beside him, "Chloe, it's your turn."
