Chapter 377 The Three Major Families of the Gu Organization

Larry was definitely heading back to Southwild.

He needed to pick up the Execution Sword again and take down those who the law couldn't touch.

He could really use some strong allies right now, especially ones like the Eight Heavenly Dragons. Having them around would make things a lot easier for him.

But these guys had already been exposed.

Having them around would actually make things harder for Larry.

"Got it."

No one said anything more.

Larry nodded. "Alright, let's head back right away. Don't worry about the situation in Sunset City."

"Boss, what about the antidote..."

Wave looked at Larry with hopeful eyes.

When he joined Larry, he had taken a poison concocted by Larry.

He had been on edge ever since, fearing he might die from the poison.

Larry smiled slightly and said, "Just go find Frank. He'll give you the antidote."

"Understood." Everyone nodded and then turned to leave.

Now, only Larry, Abigail, and Alden were left in the room.

Alden sat on the couch, legs crossed, holding a cigar, and laughed, "I thought you had some great power to control all these assassins. Turns out you just used poison to make them work for you."

Larry finally looked at Alden.

He stared at this legendary assassin, the king of killers.

He sensed a dangerous aura from Alden, like facing a venomous snake, always needing to be cautious, or he'd get bitten.

After a while, he said, "I've already rescued you. Now it's time for you to keep your promise and get rid of the Gu inside me."

Larry had gone through a lot of trouble to rescue Alden from the dungeon because Alden had immediately recognized that Larry was afflicted with Gu and claimed he could help.

Otherwise, Larry wouldn't have gone to such lengths to free the king of assassins from the dungeon.

When Larry mentioned the Gu, Alden's expression turned serious. He asked, "Who put the Gu in you?"

Larry took out his phone, found an image created by an artist, and handed it to Alden. "This guy."

Alden saw the picture of Alfonso in Larry's hand and immediately frowned.

Larry asked, "What, you know him?"

"How could I not?"

Alden's face showed a cold, murderous intent.

Larry couldn't help but take another look at Alden. This man had a terrifying killing intent.

Even Larry felt a shiver.

"Do you have a grudge against him?"

Alden handed the phone back to Larry, took a deep drag on his cigar, and nodded. "Yes, this man is Alfonso, a descendant of the Gu organization from a hundred years ago, and the one who wiped out my entire family thirty years ago."

"You know about the Gu organization?" Larry was surprised.

"How could I not?"

Alden took a deep breath and said, "Because I'm also a descendant of the Gu organization."

"What?"

Hearing this, Larry became interested.

"Tell me more."

He hadn't expected Alden to be a descendant of the Gu organization.

He was now curious about the Gu organization from a hundred years ago.

Alden fell into his memories. After a while, he said, "It's a long story. Our village was always isolated from the world, but over a hundred years ago, that balance was broken."

"In the Gu village, there were three major families: the Harris family, the Martin family, and the Scott family."

"Each family had a leader."

"Over a hundred years ago, someone entered the village and found the leader of the Harris family. This person wanted to use our knowledge of Gu to control the world."

"In the end, the Scott family joined forces with my Martin family and some martial arts experts from the outside world to destroy the Gu organization, killing everyone."

Alden took a deep breath.

"A hundred years ago, when the Summer Nation was founded, this battle against the Gu organization was secretly initiated by the Summer Nation King. But after destroying the Harris family, he feared that the Scott family and the Martin family might also use Gu to cause chaos, so he wiped them out too. Only a few people escaped."

"Since then, Gu became history, and the Gu organization was erased from history."

"There were no more Gu practitioners."

Alden recounted this piece of history.

Larry hadn't expected so many significant events to have occurred during the early days of the Summer Nation.

Alden suddenly slammed his fist on the table.

The glass table shattered instantly.

His face twisted with rage, he roared, "Back then, the Martin family made great contributions to the nation during the war, but in the end, the Summer Nation King betrayed us."

Larry glanced at him and couldn't help but ask, "What does this have to do with Alfonso killing your family?"

Alden took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

"Back then, my family wasn't in the village, so we escaped. After the village was destroyed, my great-grandfather took the family into hiding, living peacefully for decades. Until I was ten, Alfonso found us and wanted us to join his plan."

Larry couldn't help but ask, "What plan?"

Alden said, "The plan from a hundred years ago, to use Gu to control the world. My grandfather refused, but Alfonso believed that since we also knew about Gu, if we didn't join them, we had to die."

Hearing this, Larry fell into thought.

After a while, he asked, "Does Alistair know your identity?"

Alden shook his head. "No, if he knew, I'd be dead by now. He only knows I'm the king of assassins and has been trying to recruit me, which is why he hasn't killed me."

"Can you cure my Gu?"

Alden looked at Larry and shook his head slightly. "I can't. My great-grandfather knew the dangers of Gu and burned all the books on it. Only my grandfather learned some of it, and my father knew a bit. I was exposed to it as a child, but I'm not proficient."

Larry's face darkened. "Alden, are you messing with me? I can put you back in that dungeon just as easily as I got you out."

"Larry, don't be hasty. Let me finish."

Larry looked at him.

Alden said, "Gu is indeed terrifying, carrying many viruses. Once afflicted, it's usually fatal. But Gu fears one thing."

"What thing?"

"Qi."

"Qi?"

Larry was puzzled.

Alden looked at Larry, seeing his surprised expression, and asked, "Don't tell me you don't know. Your martial arts skills are already at their peak. You're just one step away from cultivating Qi. Once you take that step, you'll be a true grandmaster."

Larry really didn't know.

He had always used his medical knowledge to concoct potions for himself, making his body stronger and his power greater.

He trained day and night.

Training his reflexes, sensitivity, and overall physical abilities.

As for Qi, this was the first time he had heard of it.
