Chapter 480 Paisley's Departure
On the Cliff
Chloe was waiting, occasionally glancing down the cliff.
After looking many times, she finally saw Larry climbing up. She immediately asked, "Hey, how'd it go?"
Larry shook his head slightly. "The cliff is bottomless, and it's scorching down there. It's tough to go deeper. Grandpa falling down there means there's almost no chance of survival."
Paisley followed him up.
Larry sighed and said, "Let's head back."
Since they couldn't find anyone, Larry didn't plan to waste any more time here.
But he already had a rough idea in his mind.
That Chloe wasn't dead and was still alive.
He was half-convinced by what Paisley said.
He believed that Chloe wouldn't harm him and trusted her completely.
But he was puzzled as to why Chloe would cause so much trouble.
He turned and left.
Chloe followed him, and the accompanying soldiers followed closely behind.
After walking out of the cave, a soldier took out a walkie-talkie and called for the helicopter to return to the landing spot.
Soon, the helicopter came back.
Larry and the others boarded the helicopter and left.
Before long, they arrived at the Northern Frontier Military District.
At a military camp.
The Chieftain looked at Larry and asked, "Leaving already?"
"Yeah."
Larry nodded and said, "Things are a mess in Aurora Citadel, and I have other stuff to deal with in Sunset City. I need to get back ASAP."
The Chieftain sighed and said, "I know about the situation in Aurora Citadel. As a member of the Bennett family and now the Dragon King, the one who killed Alistair, you can't just walk away. You gotta face it head-on."
He patted Larry's chest. "I believe in you. You can handle all of this. I trust that everything will be resolved."
Larry gave a bitter smile and said, "Alright, let's not dwell on it. We'll have a drink together when there's a chance."
With that, he turned and boarded the private jet the Chieftain had prepared for him.
Chloe and Paisley followed closely behind.
The plane took off slowly.
On the plane, Larry asked, "Chloe, where exactly are Abigail and Trinity?"
"Grandpa didn't tell me. I really don't know." Chloe held Larry's hand and said, "But don't worry, they're both safe and sound."
Larry trusted Chloe.
But not being able to see them made him a bit worried.
He sighed deeply.
Given the chaotic situation, he himself was in danger. Abigail and Trinity being in Sunset City was indeed risky. Now that Chloe had taken them away and protected them, he could be more at ease and not be distracted by them.
Larry didn't say anything more.
Sunset City, military district.
A plane landed.
It was the plane from the Northern Frontier.
The Chieftain had used his connections to notify Sunset City that Larry would be returning.
Free was already waiting with several soldiers.
Larry, Chloe, and Paisley got off the plane.
Free walked over and smiled, "Larry, why'd you go to the Northern Frontier?"
Larry said, "Had some urgent matters. By the way, last time I went to Meadowbrook City, why'd you reveal my whereabouts to the Meadowbrook City military?"
"Me? Did I?" Free was stunned and then said, "Why would I reveal your whereabouts?"
Larry looked at Howard behind Free.
Howard immediately said, "Dragon King, you don't think I revealed your whereabouts, do you? I absolutely didn't say a word to anyone."
Hearing this, Larry was puzzled.
If it wasn't Free or Howard who leaked his whereabouts, how did Lloyd from Meadowbrook City know he would be there? And why did Lloyd say his whereabouts were leaked from the Sunset City military district?
But it wasn't a big deal, so he didn't ask further.
"Let's go."
After greeting Free and Howard, Larry turned and left.
Outside the military district, Chloe asked, "Honey, where are we headed? Back to the Lewis family?"
Before Larry could respond, Paisley called out, "Larry..."
"What's up?"
Larry turned to look at Paisley.
Paisley said, "Grandpa sent me to protect you. Now that your strength has recovered and you're almost as strong as me, plus you have Chloe, a master of the third realm, by your side, there's no need for me to stay in Sunset City. I'm planning to return to Aurora Citadel."
"So soon?"
Larry frowned slightly.
Paisley was very smart and perceptive.
Having Paisley around helped him solve many problems. He didn't expect her to leave so soon.
"Yeah." Paisley sighed deeply. "The situation in Aurora Citadel is very chaotic. The Four Great Families seem peaceful now, but it's the calm before the storm. I need to go back and help Grandpa with strategies. You also need to continue strengthening your abilities. If you have time, visit Aurora Citadel and find some skills suitable for you in the family library."
"What about Esmeralda?" Larry hesitated slightly.
Paisley said, "I've already taught her the cultivation method. She's a smart woman. With the cold energy in her body, she'll soon be able to cultivate Qi. There's no need to worry."
Larry nodded.
Since Paisley was leaving, he didn't try to persuade her to stay.
Paisley looked at Chloe and said, "Chloe, I'm leaving Larry in your hands. I hope you can help him more."

"Goodbye."
Paisley waved to Larry and then turned and left.
Larry and Chloe watched her leave.
After she was far away, Chloe held Larry's hand and asked, "Honey, are we going back to the Lewis family?"
Larry remembered Paisley's words.
She said that if Richard was still alive, he would definitely contact Chloe if she was around.
Thinking about it, he nodded lightly. "Yeah, let's go back."
Chloe's face lit up with joy, and she exclaimed, "Honey, that's great! You finally forgive me."
"I never blamed you. I was just worried that if you stayed with me, the enemies would use you to threaten me. I didn't want you to get hurt again, so I kept my distance. Now that you're a third realm warrior, you don't need my protection anymore, and I can be at ease."
Larry had never blamed Chloe.
"Honey, I'm sorry. I was too willful before." Chloe choked up.
Thinking about how she had treated Larry before, she felt very guilty.
Larry had always cared for her, but she never understood his intentions.
Her eyes were moist.
"Let's go. Let's visit Esmeralda's place first."
Larry turned and walked away.
Chloe followed closely behind.
They went to Esmeralda's house together.
For the past two days, Esmeralda had been seriously studying and understanding the cultivation method Paisley taught her.
She basically understood it, but understanding and cultivating Qi were two different things.
"Esmeralda, Larry is back."
Yorick led Larry and Chloe in and said respectfully.
Esmeralda, who was sitting on the sofa thinking, looked up and saw Larry and Chloe. She was stunned. "Larry, Chloe, you two made up?"
Larry didn't answer the question but asked, "How have you been these past two days? Any issues?"
Esmeralda smiled. "What issues could there be? I'm fine. By the way, Chloe is back. Where are Abigail and Trinity?"
Larry said, "They're in a safe place. The situation is chaotic now. If they come back, they'll be in danger. We'll bring them back once things settle down."
Esmeralda nodded.
