Chapter 227 Standing Up
Sawyer somehow ticked off Visionary and got his ass handed to him by Visionary's goons. They beat him up real good.
Everyone just stood around, watching the show, but no one stepped in.
Larry finally showed up and yelled. That’s when Visionary's crew finally backed off.
Sawyer scrambled up from the ground, covered in footprints, face all messed up, looking like a total wreck.
He quickly ducked behind Larry. Visionary, with a hot chick on his arm, glanced at Larry and sneered, "You wanna stick your nose where it don't belong?"
Larry turned to Sawyer and asked, "What happened?"
Sawyer mumbled, "I went to the bathroom. When I came out, I accidentally bumped into his girl. I said sorry, but he still hit me."
With Visionary glaring at him, Sawyer didn't dare say more.
The girl in Visionary's arms looked disgusted, spat, and snapped, "Poor boy, you got my clothes dirty. Do you even know how much this dress costs? Thirty grand. You can't make that in a year. Hitting you was me being nice. Today, you gotta pay up."
Visionary barked, "You hear that? Pay up, or I'll break your legs."
Sawyer was shaking like a leaf. The ruckus caught the attention of Abigail and some other girls. They rushed over.
Abigail's face was like ice, and she said coldly, "Visionary, bullying people again?"
"Abigail, what are you talking about? How's this me bullying someone?" Visionary grinned, his eyes roaming over Abigail as he whistled, looking like he needed a good punch.
Abigail knew exactly what kind of jerk Visionary was. Back in school, he was always picking on others.
"I'm warning you, don't start trouble, or don't blame me for getting nasty. Why'd you bring outsiders to the class reunion? If you don't wanna be here, then get lost."
Abigail didn't hold back at all.
"Abigail's right. Fine, I won't hold him responsible."
With Abigail stepping in, Visionary let it go. He strutted off with the hot chick, whistling as he headed to the rest area.
"Hold up," Larry shouted.
Visionary stopped and looked at Larry with a smirk, "What's your problem?"
Chloe quickly walked over, tugged on Larry, and whispered, "Visionary's letting it go, so why are you still making a scene?"
Larry said calmly, "He hit someone, and that's it?"
This wasn't his fight. But Sawyer was his best buddy. They were tight back in school.
Even though Sawyer's Family was poor, it didn't stop Larry from being his friend.
His best friend got beat up; no way he was just gonna stand by.
Visionary had a smug grin, "Loser, so what are you gonna do about it?"
Larry said calmly, "The clothes got dirty. I'll pay for it. But however you hit him, I'll hit you back the same way."
Abigail frowned, "Larry, what are you doing? This has nothing to do with you."
Chloe tugged on Larry again, "Babe, let it go."
Class One and Class Two students were all standing around. Everyone knew what kind of guy Visionary was. Back in school, he was a bully. After graduation, he started hanging with the wrong crowd and now had some clout.
"Let it go," Sawyer also gently pulled Larry and whispered, "I'm fine."
Visionary, however, burst out laughing. All these years, no one had dared to talk to him like this. Now, a loser from the Lewis Family dared to shout at him.
"My girlfriend's dress is worth thirty grand, and he touched her. So, it's not just about the dress."
Sawyer quickly defended himself, "I didn't."
Larry slightly raised his hand, signaling Sawyer to shut up.
Larry looked at Visionary with a smirk and said, "Alright, let's cut the crap. Is it thirty grand, three hundred grand, or three mil? Just name it. But however many punches and kicks your guys gave him, you're taking the same from me."
Visionary was momentarily thrown off by Larry's words. If he didn't know Larry's background, he might've thought Larry was some big shot.
After a second of confusion, he remembered Larry's background—just the son-in-law of the Lewis Family.
Sure, the Lewis Family had some cash back in the day, but now they were drowning in debt and on the brink of going under.
With that in mind, Visionary squinted at Larry and said, "If you can cough up three mil for my girl, what's a few punches from you?"
"Honey," the hot chick in the flashy dress immediately tugged on Visionary. She'd seen Larry's moves at the villa entrance earlier.
Even Lysander's bodyguards got taken down by him in a flash. She was worried Visionary couldn't handle those punches.
Visionary raised his hand slightly and said, "No worries. He's just the Lewis Family's son-in-law, a useless nobody. The Lewis Family's broke and can't come up with the cash. Even if they had it, they wouldn't give it to this loser."
Visionary had the situation pegged. Larry showed up at the gathering, but he didn't know anyone, and no one paid him any mind. He was just looking for a chance to show off and get noticed.
With things heating up, Abigail didn't bother to step in. Visionary was a jerk, and she didn't like Larry either.
"Chloe, let's not get involved. Let's go over there," Abigail said, pulling Chloe away.
Chloe looked worried. She knew Larry's skills. A few punches, and Visionary would be toast. She didn't want Larry to stir up more trouble.
Before she could say anything, Abigail dragged her away.
Abigail ignored the situation, and the others didn't dare to step in either. They all stood around, ready to watch the drama unfold. Some even looked excited for the show.
"Alright, three mil it is. What's your account number? I'll transfer it right now," Larry said, looking at the cocky Visionary with a faint smile.
Visionary thought. 'Does he really have three mil?'
He sized Larry up, but Larry didn't look like someone who had that kind of cash.
After a quick thought, he gave a bank account number. Larry pulled out his phone and transferred three mil to that account immediately.
Soon, Visionary got a bank notification. His face lit up with joy.
"He really transferred three mil. This idiot actually gave me three mil."
Visionary jumped up in excitement. The onlookers were stunned, staring at Larry in disbelief.
Three mil really transferred? Was he nuts?
Gave Visionary three mil for nothing?
Larry then turned to look at the bruised and swollen Sawyer. He counted the footprints on Sawyer's body and the injuries on his face.
Larry stopped counting at forty, turned to the still-smug Visionary, and smiled faintly, "Let's say forty hits. You taking them, or are the guys who hit him taking them?"
Visionary immediately pulled over one of his goons and said, "Go take a few punches. I'll give you two hundred grand afterward."
The goon, hearing about the two hundred grand, was overjoyed and shouted, "Thanks, boss."
Larry, with a stern face, walked over. He leaped more than a meter into the air, delivering a flying kick to the goon's chest, whose chest bones were instantly fractured.
The goon flew like a ragdoll, landing more than two meters away, crashing hard to the ground. He screamed in pain, his face twisted in agony.
Everyone's eyes widened in disbelief at the scene.
